Dropping (and Picking Up) My Fully-Loaded Honda Africa Twin for the First Time |Extended Version|

I suppose it happens to everyone eventually, but I finally dropped my Honda Africa Twin and it was maybe the lamest adventure motorcycle drop of all time. Attempting to get over a large rock that was in front of my rear tire, I thought I could just gas the bike and goose it over. Turns out, I was wrong. I dropped my Africa Twin right on my Tusk Pilot Pannier bag. What should have been a simple start to a ride home turned into an impromptu lesson on how to pick up an adventure bike. Fortunately, I wasn't alone, and I was able to lift my Honda Africa twin back up thanks to the help of my buddy Ducfan. Lifting an adventure bike off the ground is not easy, especially when it's fully loaded with a hundred pounds of camping gear in soft panniers and a dry bag on top. These bikes are made to be ridden off road and while I'm not happy I dropped my Africa Twin, it is nice to know that it's now been done and the first one is out of the way. Picking up an Africa Twin is not easy, but it can be done, so hopefully I won't be as stressed about future adv bike drops.
