In this episode of Coffee Break French To Go, Pierre-Benoît asks the question, “quelle est ta ville française préférée ?” (What is your favourite French city?). You can use the answers of our interviewees to help you answer this question in French.
In the first part of the video, watch the interviews without subtitles and try to understand. In the second part of the video, we’ve provided subtitles in French at the top of the screen. You can choose to turn on subtitles in English using the Subtitles/CC button. In this second series of Coffee Break French To Go, Pierre-Benoît is in the city of Nantes in France, and in each episode he’ll ask passers-by one question. Of course, that one question will result in many answers, and it’s through these answers that you can practise your French and build your vocabulary. Coffee Break French To Go will be published every two weeks here on YouTube, and each Season will be filmed in a different part of the French-speaking world.
Our Coffee Break French To Go interviews are also available as videos and podcasts on our website. In the free podcast version, Mark is back in the studio helping you understand all the responses. Click on the link below to listen: https://radiolingua.com/2020/12/cbf-t...

Hi and welcome to a new episode of Coffee Break French To Go.
We are in Nantes. It's my hometown, so it's my favorite city.
Hence today's question, which is the following.
What is your favorite French city?
Or more formally, what is your favorite French city?
I repeat, what is your favorite French city?
Or more formally, what is your favorite French city?
Let's take a look at what people in Nantes have to say.
We've been to a lot of different destinations.
Sarla is a small town in the Perigord region,
which is very pretty, with lots of stone houses and it's very cute.
I'm not going to say Paris, because it's a bit of a cliché,
but it's still a pretty good city, there's a lot to see, etc.
I also really like Toulouse, where I've been, it was really nice.
And in the south too, Cassis for example, I like it a lot.
France is good, I don't really like the north, but...
It's the same, it's my hometown, it's Tours, because there's the old Tours, which is magnificent.
In particular, there's the best place in France to drink beers, it's been proven.
So that's worth it.
And then there's the city of Loire, which is a very wild river,
so that's cool, you can have very nice evenings on the banks of the Loire.
And it's also a student city, which is pretty nice, it moves a lot, it's really cool.
It's also a city of human size, you can do everything on foot, and that's really cool.
My favorite French city?
Well, Lyon, I've been living there for years.
For me, Lyon is a big city without being too big, it's a family atmosphere,
everyone is nice, it's eclectic, I love it.
Well, it's a good thing, because I come from the north, but...
I like Paris, I've been there several times to go to Disneyland Paris, I love it.
But then, the city itself, I went to Paris for Christmas, and it was magnificent.
It was magical.
I don't know.
I don't know, I really like French cities, we've been to a lot of cities,
but I don't have a preference, they're all so pretty.
I'd say Bordeaux, in France.
Even though I've only been there for three days, I loved the atmosphere,
and it's a very pleasant and safe city.
I'd say Provence, because it's beautiful, it's warm, it's very nice.
That's it? Have you understood all the answers?
We're going to watch them again, but this time, with subtitles.

Great answers!
Now, I have a question for you.
What's your favourite French city?
Well done, well done!
Unfortunately, that's all for today,
because it's the last episode of the series,
but we'll be back very soon for a new series,
and maybe we'll be in your favourite French city.
Who knows?
Bye!
