Malibu skate park is finally being
built. As you can see, this is some
footage of them going to work building
it, constructing it, and laying it all
out. It's super exciting time because
this is a new skate park. The only thing
I'm very concerned about is the
temporary park. It was built in 2023 and
it was supposed to be temporary until
this one got built, but with COVID and
just a lot of backtracks, it hasn't been
built. Decided to head over there
because it's one of my favorite parks
and honestly, I wasn't too hyped when I
saw this. The temporary park is closed
due to permanent skatepark construction.
I figured that I would do the best I
could to get a session in because I made
the drive. And honestly, this is going
to be one of my last sessions here. Um,
I'll go more into detail towards the
ending of the video, but as you can see,
I'm just going all around because this
park has a lot of meaning to a lot of
skateboarders and a lot of beginners.
And just this place is such a beautiful
park. Even if it's a temporary park,
this actually for me feels like it's a
better design than the actual park only
because it's not intimidating. It's very
friendly and you can have fun here. But
yeah, I wanted to make sure that I went
around one last time before I started
skating. And the video is brought to you
by Ble just sent me their AI sports
glasses, and I'm testing them out today.
Looking back at the footage, I saw that
the glasses didn't really capture the
board, but it did capture like me
rolling up to it and rolling away and
just kind of where my head goes. Cool
thing about these glasses is once you
hold the button, it starts filming, you
press the button, it takes a photo while
you're filming. So, you can still be
filming even after it takes the photo.
The lenses have UV protection and within
the app, you can see the videos that you
take or the photos that you take. My
favorite part is that even after I
filmed for 20 minutes, they didn't stop
recording. Let me know what you think
about these glasses. This flat bar is
probably one of the best things here.
Um, I saw the plans for the actual park.
They don't have a flat bar. This is the
one thing that I am very critical for a
lot of parks not having a flat bar or a
round bar, whatever you want to call it.
It actually sucks. This is one of the
best things to warm up to. Uh, every
time I've been here, I legit just do
that and then I skate the bump to bar.
Bro, the bump to bar is the best
obstacle for me here. This is like the
most non-intimidating bump to bar. It's
not that long. It's pretty short and
it's not high at all. Seriously, I don't
know what I'm going to do. I've always
like thought of so many tricks that I've
been wanting to do here. And it's kind
of a bummer because my session just
ended here, right? As soon as I landed
the big spin, I went back up to try one
more trick. And I was told uh by a
worker like, "Hey, what am I doing
here?" And I just told him, "Yo, I was
talking to someone." He saw me talking
to someone and he asked if they let me
skate. And I just said I didn't even
talk to him about that. But we were
talking about something else, which
you're going to see the footage of me
talking to that guy. But man, what a sad
way to leave the park. Just being told
that, yeah, if you're skating here and
other people see you skating here,
they're going to just think that it's
okay to skate cuz you're skating here.
So, basically, I'm the problem. And I
get it. People are they're just doing
their job. And I kind of accepted it. I
did want to try to make my way into
getting a longer session, but homie
wasn't having it. But here's a
conversation with one of the workers
that knows what's up.
>> You want to have something for all
levels of skill. You want to bring new
kids where they can have a spot to
practice. They could jump on this. You
can't just send them up, go off that
rail. You got to have little You
got to start somewhere. So, you got to
have all levels of of uh abilities and
different things. And we know we need to
be creative. That's what's good for the
brain. It's good for the body.
>> It's good for human beings. You want
people to be creative. Everyone that
designs these things, these are
professionals designing this and they're
looking at all the designs around the
world. It's it's this is new. They're
going to have the cutting edge
information
and they always try to improve and
whatever the competitions are pulling,
they're going to try to build it towards
that, you know. Uh that's what I would
think. and they they might have a bidden
thing or I would say my experience in
all these things check online make sure
it's Saturday morning and get here first
if you want to buy a piece of that's how
I would take it if you really truly
wanted something I would try to get here
early and someone says oh I already have
dibs on this and say well what if I
bought it off of you know everything's
for sale if you wanted that bad
>> I just got done talking to one of the
workers that takes care and maintenance
this whole park at Malibu He said that
they're going to have an auction for all
these ramps right here. I did see that
online and it just bums me out because
this is one of my favorite parks.
Regardless that they're going to be
building the new park, which you can see
over there for me is just a bummer
because this is one of the parks that is
just really fun. It has everything. It
has that little piece, the stair set,
and the bump to borrow at the very end.
The craziest thing is that and there's
an article that says the temporary skate
park is going to be opened for the
duration of construction. I guess they
went back on that and here's the post
where they have the information on the
whole sale. Uh there's a lot um I'll
link everything in the description.
There's a lot of comments that people
are bummed to. There's a lot of comments
on that post, but here's some of them.
um the article that I grabbed the
information that the skatepark was
supposed to remain open. A lot of people
feel that it should be donated to
communities and yeah, it's funny that
your temporary parks can be better than
your regular parks. I agree. The bull is
the only thing in my life that I care
about. I resonate because that bump to
bar is all I cared about. Now I can't
skate it. And whoever thought this was
going to be a good move to sell piece by
piece is a Regardless what's
going on, this is going to be the new
skatepark at Malibu. Honestly, I don't
know how I feel about it. I just know
that the temporary park brought so many
people together. Not only that, it was
just the right park in so many ways and
many reasons. And I often thought about
that park more than I should have.
Honestly, to me, that temporary park
will always be in my top three skate
parks. That'll be it for me, y'all. Let
me know what you think about it. I'll
link everything down in the description
so you can go find out
