welcome to fifth grade math with mr. J
so here we are at the least common
multiples mastery check where you are
going to try some of these on your own
to see if you have it down if you're
looking for more of an instructional
video I drop the link to the least
common multiples instructional video
down in the description so check that
out and then come back to the mastery
check to see if you have it down if
you're ready for the mastery check and
you haven't done a Master you check on
my channel before you should have
something to write with and something to
write on out
and when I say press pause here in a few
seconds your press pause find the least
common multiples to all these problems
when you're ready and done press play
and you'll check your answers with mine
so if you're ready to start go ahead and
press pause alright welcome back I'm
assuming you have those five done so
let's see how you do so at least common
multiple four five and three your lists
should look something like this
depending on how many multiples you
wrote out for each but for number one we
run into a common multiple at 15 so your
LCM is 15 number two we have 8 + 6 8 16
24 32 6 12 18 24 and we have one in
common when we did the 24 so our LCM for
number 2 is 24 number 3 we have 3 + 7 3
6 9 12 15 18 21 7 14 21 they will hit at
21 or match it
anyone so our LCM is 21 if your lists
look different than mine that's not a
problem at all maybe you counted up to
35 and it looks like this that's fine as
long as you have this part the same as
me you're good to go at the lists differ
a little bit that's not a big deal at
all
number 4 15 and 10 15 30 45 60 10 20 30
40 50 60 looks like we have one in
common at 60 but this is why I always
say double check we have one that is
less than 60 we want the least common
multiple so our better answer is 30 so
we should have LCM equals 30 now 60
would be a common multiple but again we
want least common multiple and then
number 5 - 9 + 3 - 9 + 3 2 4 6 8 10 9 18
27 3 6 9 12 doesn't look like we have
any matches there so we're gonna need to
continue our lists 12 14 16 18 this
one's at 27 my nines at 27 so I don't
need to extend that list at all because
I'm only at 18 up here and 12 down here
so 12 15 18 I notice match here 18 18
and then let's look at my list for 9
there's an 18 so least common multiple
equals 18
your goal for this would be four out of
the five correct would show that you
have it down or five out of the five
correct so that was your goal for this
mastery check hopefully you achieved it
if you need a little more work you can
check out the instructional video again
and try the mastery check again but
hopefully you hit that four or five mark
thanks for watching
