Hey there and welcome back. My name is Joe Gata and I'm the author of Average Joe
the Journey Home and you have found our podcast. We're on day 246 and today's
message is God's Song. If you're a first-time visitor we typically go seven to ten
minutes each day. I don't know if I'm gonna go even seven minutes today
because today's message is very short because I give you a homework assignment.
I'll talk about that in just a minute. Also if you're a first-time visitor you
can go down below if you don't have the book there's a free e-version or you can
go on to Amazon and buy the hard copy there. We'd really be appreciative of
that and we're humbled that you found us because we know you have many choices
when it comes to your quiet time with Father God. Also if you want to know if I
connect with you go back and listen to a few messages and if I do carry on. If I
don't keep reading the book. Maybe you hear someone else's voice talk
to you instead of mine. This is about growing God's message not about Joe
Gaeta. It's about the Word of God from a layman's point of view. So if you feel
like you're moved to send this off to someone else send it. Hit the share
button. Hit the like button. Subscribe. That would be helpful. That's the way
we're gonna grow this ministry and with all that said let's go to Father God in
prayer before we go into today's message God's Song. Father God it makes sense
that you're the first songwriter. You created everything. So many firsts under
your watch. Father God guide us to be the humans that you desire. When you created
the world you created us in your image and we know we're far from perfect. We
fail. We sin daily but yet you have a bridge to you. This eternal glory that
far outweighs everything on this earth through your Son Jesus and that's who we
want to be more like Father. We want to make you smile. We want to be in that
space where people see Christ in us through our actions and through our
words and they look at us and behind the scenes they're saying I want
to be more like them and if we're doing that Father then we know we're making
you smile. We pray this in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
All right let's get get into Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 18 through 19. This is
the New International Version. It says and I will certainly remember this is
God saying to Moses this is what I want you to write in the song. Now the song
the song is much longer. This is just one of the scriptures. And I will
certainly hide my face in that day because of their wickedness in turning
to other gods. Now write down this song and teach it to the Israelites and have
them sing it so that they may be a witness for me against them. Who's them?
They're other gods. I guess I never thought of it but since God created the
universe it makes sense that he would be the first songwriter. Since God is
writing this song I will keep today's message brief. I would like you to do a
little homework assignment and read chapters 31 and 32 of Deuteronomy. Now if
you're like Joe I don't have that kind of time this morning. Well then go right
into chapter 32 and go find the song of God. Moses is nearing his death and God
tells him to write a song that includes the lyrics of today's scripture. Moses
agrees and in verse 27 which we didn't do today we did 18 and 19 but in verse
27 he says this to the Israelites, if you have been rebellious against the
Lord while I'm still alive with you how much more will you rebel after I die?
I think Moses is calling them out on the truth of their lifestyles that they're
living. And as a huge reminder these aren't my words these are God's words. I
wonder how God's lyrics would sound if he wrote them now. In his eyes
have we regressed? As I look around and I compare our world to what I grew up in
and maybe the world that you grew up in I feel he may need to add a verse or two.
Ain't that the truth? Dear Father God thank you for today and for singing your
original warnings to the world. Your human race may need an entire soundtrack
just to get through our days. Amen to that. We need you Father and we are sorry
that the world has forsaken you. Thank you for loving us despite ourselves. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen. So as I kick you off early I'm not doing the I'm like
at just under five minutes right now so I'm cutting it off early so you can go
do your homework assignment. But read the song of God in that warning that he's
trying to give the Israelites hasn't changed. What the Word of God was then is
now and we need to be forewarned that we need to live this life with God first.
Live for him with a heart of love obeying his commandments getting into a
relationship with him. Be fearful of him as Moses you know the ground that he
walked on near the voice of God was holy. He came fearful. We come to God with
reverence and he expects that reverence. Hope today's message made sense.
Tomorrow's message is going to be day 247 and the message is servant's heart.
Until we see each other again may God bless you have an amazing day. See ya.
