wind. I have a very personal grudge against the wind in case you could not tell but it's still
going at it nonetheless. So a little update on the field work. Today Papa went up and got the
river bottom done. We got the big field done yesterday but there are a couple little fields
that need to be done up there. So got those done this morning, got back home. Papa is in the 81 now
with the v-ripper and then we put the vertical tillage implement which is the sunflower
vertical tillage disc and it's on the 91 now. So we're going over the corn stalk, going over the
corn stalk ground with this implement and let me just say the ground is working up absolutely
beautifully. It looks so good where we've been over so that is wonderful to see. Yeah tractor's
running good right now and I will keep you guys updated but this is what I'm going to be doing
for a while and it's pretty nice to be in here out of the wind I must say. Okay having a little
bit of difficulty here. It's piling up which is never good and that section right there is getting
plugged up. So it did it back there too and the pile wasn't very big. The pile up here isn't very big
either but I don't know why it's just plugging up right there so I'm gonna go try to get it situated again.
Hello. It piled up. It's just a little bit plugged up here and it's not bad so it shouldn't, I mean it
should work itself out if I get going again hopefully. I don't have a pry bar or anything
which is not great so I'm just kind of cleaning it out by hand here but it's really not bad so
I'm just gonna hope that get itself straightened up. Mom's calling. Hello.
Uh the thing plugged up a little bit. Okay. Love you. Bye. Y'all if you ever doubt that I'm being
supervised out here within five minutes of this tractor stopping I got a call from mom and dad
so okay I'm gonna put the camera down and try to get this worked out.
Okay y'all we are going again and I made it a little ways without it piling so I think
it's gotten itself figured out now. Just got plugged up a little bit
but it seems to be doing okay now which is very good. I did not have a pry bar so
um I kind of thought we kept one with this tractor but I couldn't find it terribly bad
so I did just, I couldn't use my hands and like most of them I just barely had to do anything and
then not right up close but there was one that took me a little bit and it was kind of tough
and so I think that's what was really giving us trouble but eventually I got it and it seems to
be doing okay now so let's just hope that it will stay that way and we won't have any more problems.
That would be very nice. Okay it's been doing good um it's now about 4 30 and dad and Lemuel
came down here to take over. All right y'all I have made it up to the house and yeah it's
been a good day today. That's gonna be about it for today. Oh actually before I go in we put the
chicks that we got, if you've been following along, we got 25 little Rhode Island red chicks. We had
them in a little box in the basement but then earlier today since it was gonna be like 80
we moved them out into a big tub in the animal barn. They have heat lamps so I'm gonna take a
little bit of footage of that. Y'all can see that and they're all doing good, eating food, drinking
water, running around. They got a good life, you know living the life. So they are doing very good
and I'll keep you guys updated on that and yeah I think that's gonna be about it for today.
I hope you guys enjoyed the footage from today.
I do not like the wind y'all, not at all. Okay there are the little chicks. They're doing so good.
They got this whole tub here. A bit of an upgrade. Oh my goodness there are some noisy chickens in here.
Yeah a little bit of an upgrade from their last box.
They're looking very good. Hello everybody. It is now Sunday afternoon. Today though we got back
from church. We've been doing a little bit since then. The next job that we're working on is selling
these guys. So it is time for these guys to head to the sale barn. There's a sale tomorrow morning
so we're gonna get them taken up there today. As you can see they are nice and big. We're actually
gonna be leaving. It'll be that one because he's a little bull and so we're keeping him back just
in case we want to have him as our replacement bull. So he's staying back here but the other
three we're gonna get loaded up on the trailer and taken up to the sale barn and unloaded so
hopefully they'll work with us. Won't be too difficult all that. We just got the trailer
hooked up here and we're gonna get it backed up and see if we can get these guys loaded up.
Okay now I just need to sort the bull back off.
Kept the bull back and these three are gonna head to the sale barn.
I'm getting the tractor fueled up for the day. Then it's gonna be headed to the field.
Good morning y'all. It is Tuesday morning. Today the things that are going to be getting done.
Got the sunflower going in the field again. So Papa and Lemuel are in the 9100 doing some tillage.
The other little thing that we're working towards is we're going to be selling the lambs today.
So we have six lambs to take to the sale barn. We're going to be taking them all the way down to
the Kelowna sale barn. We need to get over there and get them sorted, get them tagged with ear
tags and all that and then they should be ready to go. So that's kind of the to-do list for today.
We don't have a lot going on. It's pretty cold so we're not like working towards a lot of stuff
at this moment but yeah we will see. We are headed over now with the trailer. We have it hooked up to
the 27 instead of the truck because we want to back it all the way down to the sheep barn door
so it's easier to load. We're not just going to load up the lambs though. We're actually,
I think we're planning on taking the ram down there too. So we got him back in the fall of 2020
I believe. He was probably close to a year old then so he's getting up there and we do have
two young rams still here. They are about a year old now and they're getting pretty good size so
we're going to be keeping one of those back this fall to be our ram for the herd to get
breeding done. But Mr. Buck over there right now, he's getting old and so we're going to be selling
him. So we're just going to load him up. Hopefully he won't be too difficult to load. We'll see how
he does. We're going to get him on the trailer and take him down when we take the lambs down.
I tell you what, he's been behaving lately and he's had a much better attitude but in some of
his younger years he was a pain to deal with. He rammed me backwards multiple times into a gate
and then one time he had busted out to get in with our mule to fight the mule and I was holding the
gate shut after I got him back in. He rammed me through the gate and it like flung me backwards.
So I am not going to be too upset to see him go. So we do have our next ram coming up. That's going
to be our breeding ram now is Cinderblock. Now that's probably not an everyday sheep name, however
it does fit him very well and that's his official name. So Cinderblock is going to be staying and
then Mr. Buck is going to head to the sale barn and that's going to be the plan over here. Okay, we got
all the lambs sorted off. So here they are, all six of them. You can see that's the smallest one
and then some of these are pretty big. So they're looking good. We're going to get them loaded up.
You guys bring them to me if you can. I'll tag them then we'll throw them on.
Hang on tight.
Throw it in.
Alrighty y'all, we got them all loaded up. The lambs were very feisty but we got them. Mr. Buck
was not happy, not easy to catch, but we ended up lassoing him. So then it wasn't too bad, but he
has been in the trailer trying to ram the side of it as hard as he can to get out. So he is kind of
mad and acting a little bit crazy, but we got him loaded up. He can't leave for a little while still,
so we're gonna get them, we got him some hay inside the trailer. They can just chill there,
simmer down a little bit, munch on some hay and he'll be in good shape until we leave.
He's much happier now that he has some food.
Come on.
