And we are go for the sprint race here at Monza and it's a good launch there for Dino Biganovic.
He's come over to defend his lead for Sammy Megatuniff.
Meanwhile, we are three wide in the background and it looks like Sammy Megatuniff is trying to get
around the outside there of Dino Biganovic. He's going to hold on to second place.
Leo Fornaroli is in third and then comes the Red Bull Junior of Arvid Lindblad who's under
all sorts of pressure from Joshua Dirksen as they come around Curva Grande.
Under pressure as well. Down towards turn two. Megatuniff is on the outside.
Fornaroli's on the inside and Fornaroli's going to snatch the place.
Yep, Fornaroli's going to get that into the Rogier chicane.
Joshua Dirksen's gone over the Rogier chicane there and he will now drop back in behind Lindblad.
He's in a Red Bull Junior sandwich. Olly Gertha goes around the outside there
and Olly Gertha will now try and take this place into the next corner.
So good driving that from Gertha who made his F2 debut here last year.
Arvid Lindblad under pressure as well in the background.
Dirksen fighting back on Stanec in that yellow Invicta and Dirksen takes it all the way
around the outside and that's a good place gained from the AIX Racing driver in the background.
It looks like Alex Dunne has moved up a position as well. He's now into the points.
It was half a look from Dunne down towards turn one.
But oh!
Suddenly spins!
Miney spinning round there and into the gravel at Curva Grande there.
Kush Miney, the driver who's going to go off the front row tomorrow, is now spinning out of the race.
And I think Dunne's pushed him a little bit too much there.
Crowds him off the road.
Miney finds himself spinning with nowhere to go.
Safety car has been deployed.
And a very good restart for young Arvid Lindblad.
Look at the Red Bull Junior.
He's all over the back of Sammy Megatuniff.
And now he's going to pick up the toe of Fornaroli.
And Fornaroli is going to challenge for the lead at his home race.
But he's going to go straight on.
And now he's going to navigate his way through the polystyrene boards.
But meanwhile behind, Lindblad has gone by Megatuniff.
And Fornaroli will have to slot in behind Paganovic.
Fornaroli giving it back but making sure he doesn't cede any more positions there.
Cold brakes, cold tyres, big braking zone down towards turn one.
And that constitutes a lock-up for Fornaroli,
who has another little look going down to the Roger Chicane.
Fornaroli is all over the back of Paganovic.
We're going to get DRS enabling down to Ascari as well.
Fornaroli might not even need that though.
In the background, Olly Gertha, the other Red Bull Junior,
is trying to get by Megatuniff who's gone too deep into Retafilo.
He's going to go wide there.
And also going wide with Stanek.
And that's going to allow Dunn to go through on the inside of Curva Grande.
And that's going to be seventh place for the McLaren Junior.
It's a much better run for Dunn.
Stanek, will he be able to tuck back into the toe and have another go at him though
as they head into the Roger Chicane?
Thinks about it.
Dunn's got the inside line.
He's going to control that first apex.
Our championship leader, Leo Fornaroli.
He's already won three times.
Is he about to charge into the lead of the race?
He pulls over to the left.
Clear road ahead for Leo Fornaroli.
And now he moves over to take the lead of the race.
He just has to get the car stopped in time, which he does.
And Leo Fornaroli is now our new race leader.
Arvid Lindblad getting closer to him.
Here we go for the move.
Arvid Lindblad has pulled to the inside.
Good racing between the pair.
And Arvid Lindblad will go through at minimum time lost.
So they will stay comfortably within DRS.
Fornaroli and Megatuniff's gone off over the curve and into the path of Alex Dunn.
And both drivers into the gravel at Retofilo chicane.
Oh, Alex Dunn's race is going from bad to worse here, isn't it?
You just push me out, that's it.
Another one that's discussed with the stewards.
You've got Sammy Megatuniff.
He's going to go off the road here in the middle of the chicane
to actually avoid the move from Dunn.
Bounce over the chicane and then take him out on the exit.
Here comes Oli Girtha looking to the outside of Biganovic.
And on the outside he goes round on the brakes.
Great move.
Oh, but he was just a little bit too deep.
Oh, and he's had a spin.
Oli Girtha round at the Retofilo chicane.
And he's gone round again trying to recover.
What a shame for Oli Girtha on for a first possible podium.
So Girtha is going to make an attack on what I thought was an extremely brave effort
down the outside in the braking zone.
And it turned out it was slightly too brave.
Doesn't quite have the car underneath him.
And then it's just the interruption over the gravel.
Then finds no traction.
But I think there are several cars making overtakes in the background under that yellow flag.
And Gabriele Mini is the car that goes off straight there.
Oh, no.
Who's that in the background?
That's going to be the other trident car of Esteson.
And that's going to go no further.
Stanek versus Verschuur for P5.
The last remaining points.
Well, it's between Mini, Browning, Marty and Montoya.
Here comes Verschuur.
He's going to catch out Stanek.
Down to the Rogier.
And there goes Verschuur.
And that is crucial points in his fight for this championship.
And for the first time since 2017, the Tofosi will get a home winner here at Monza.
And it will be championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli who goes back to back.
He now takes the win here at Monza in the sprint race.
The championship leader extending his lead at the top of the standings.
Arvid Lindblad takes second.
And after that five-second penalty for Dino Biganovic,
Joshua Dirksen will return to the podium here at Monza.
Richard Verschuur, crucial points for him in fourth.
Roman Stanek in fifth.
And that penalty at the end of the race for Dino Biganovic drops him to P6.
But extending his lead out front with a home win and a fourth of the season.
Leonardo Fornaroli.
Leo Fornaroli creating those.
An Italian winning at Monza on sprint race Saturday.
What scenes we've had already in Formula 2.
Arvid Lindblad second place.
Joshua Dirksen third.
Three teams on the podium.
Verschuur, Stanek, Biganovic, Schmidty, Brown in your points finishes.
Martti Montoya came from the back row to tenth.
That is all for the sprint race.
