Stewart Whitson,2025 Virginia Candidate for 11th11th Congressional district, met with local residents in Annandale, Virginia, at an event hosted by the Asian Community Service Center on August 31, 2025. The main topic of discussion was the Chinese Communist Party’s efforts to infiltrate and influence America’s political, educational, commercial, and social institutions.
Thank you so much.
So it is so great to be back here.
I see a lot of familiar faces and familiar food, which I took home and loved.
They gave me a big plate the last time I came to share with my family.
So my wife of 20 years is here.
We have five school-aged kids.
So they gave me a plate big enough to share with the entire family.
I didn't share with the family.
I don't think so.
So real quick.
So obviously the threat of China is the biggest national security threat facing our country.
But what's so crazy about it is it's not just a threat from abroad.
It's a threat from within.
And so I've spent a decade in the military.
I was an Army combat veteran.
But I also spent a decade in the FBI working these threats.
So working Islamic terrorism, but also the Chinese threat, the threat from China.
So I've seen firsthand how serious this is and how we have to deal with it.
And what's the solution in a single word?
Strength, right?
Weakness invites aggression.
And you'll recall the last time I was here, I reminded you which administration was in power when a Chinese spy balloon slowly floated across the country.
That was the Democrats.
So they were in power, and their weakness invited that aggression from China.
Does anyone in this room think for a second that during the current administration a Chinese spy balloon is going to be allowed to float across the U.S.?
Raise your hand if anyone thinks that will happen.
No.
There's no way.
No one thinks that's going to happen.
And why is that?
Because we finally have strength.
And so that is the key.
If you want to stand up to an adversary like China, you do it through strength.
Period.
And it's got to be across the board.
And Jason Meares is a good friend.
He's given me a strong endorsement.
The other big thing we have to stand up against is crime.
And so a lot of this, besides the national security threat and FBI dealing with it, it's also the crime that's going to be coming in.
And so if people are threatening members of our community, whether that's the Chinese Communist Party or whether that's MS-13 gang members threatening our communities, we have to stand up against them.
And here's the big problem.
In Fairfax County, do we have a prosecutor who will do that for us?
No.
We have a prosecutor that thinks his job is to be a social worker and not a prosecutor.
And we need someone who will put bad guys away and keep them away and keep us safe.
And so Attorney General Meares will do that, but he needs a partner at the federal level who can help.
And so how do you help at the federal level?
As a former FBI agent, you work with those federal agencies.
You get them to partner with the state law enforcement officers.
And we say, hey, look, if the county is not going to protect us, then I'm going to protect us.
Because guess what?
I care about all of you.
I care about my family, too.
My family, my kids, they're traveling into D.C. and they're traveling around the area.
I know yours are as well.
And so we have to fight to protect them.
And I'll give one quick example.
The mall, you know, what happened at the mall, the Braddock or the Fairfax Mall abduction.
Did you see that?
So in broad daylight, a guy came in, scooped up a little kid, and tried to walk out of the mall.
And fortunately, he walked into a store where the child's mother was.
And so she stopped him.
But can you imagine what would have happened?
But that guy that did that had 30 prior convictions, 30.
And he was released without being held in jail.
And so he went out and did that.
And so we have to have strength.
And we have to hold these bad people in bars, behind bars, so that we can protect our kids.
And so then the very last thing I'll talk about, besides the DEI fight, which, again, Europe was spot on.
That is the definition of racism.
If you're denying an opportunity to someone based solely on the color of their skin, that is racism, pure and simple.
And so it's unacceptable.
And so why is that getting fixed?
Because we have a Republican administration now in the presidency, and they're calling it out, right?
They're saying, you know, you're violating the civil rights of our Asian American community, and it's not going to be tolerated.
And so that's what we need more of that.
And so the last thing I'll say before I finish is, again, I have five school-age kids, my wife and I.
They're two of them.
They all go to school in Fairfax County.
Two of them are in the Fairfax County public school systems.
Right now, what they're doing, pushing radical political ideologies on our kids behind closed doors is unacceptable.
And they're not just trying to push boys into girls' sports.
They want to push boys and men into their locker rooms.
And so I ask you, please Google this name, Richard Cox, C-O-X, but this is a convicted sex offender who was allowed to go into multiple girls' locker rooms
and expose himself not just to women but to little girls.
People in our community complained, and the Democrats did nothing.
And so I will do something.
I will stop that because I'm a father of three young girls.
When I bring them to the pool and they go into the girls' locker room, I can't go in there with them.
I'm just trusting that when they go in there, they're going to be safe.
And I don't want someone in there that could cause them harm.
And I don't want someone in there that could cause any of your children harm either.
And so that's one of our biggest things.
I will fight for you.
I will fight for your families.
But to do that, I need to be elected.
So we need to vote.
And so the special election is September 9th.
Early voting's already started.
So vote for me, please, on September 9th.
Tell all your friends and family to do the same.
And then after I get into office, you need to vote for all of these great people, including Attorney General Villares,
and get them into government and restore common sense.
So thank you so much.
