These are not complicated changes. In fact, they come from simple Indian traditions,
like the way you begin our mornings, the food you eat, and the habits you have.
And towards the end, I will also share a few special tips that will improve not just cholesterol,
but your entire circulatory system.
Now the first remedy is a bottle gourd or doodi juice. Start your morning with fresh
bottle gourd juice, what we call lauki doodi ka ras in India. It can be a powerful morning
reset for your body. It is light, cooling, and supports your liver in flushing out excess fat
or toxins. This is gentle on the body and deeply hydrating. It's rich in potassium and soluble
fiber. To friends of healthy heart, to prepare doodi juice, peel and chop about 100 grams of
tender bottle gourd, blend it with a little water, strain and drink it fresh on an empty stomach.
Do this five days a week, but remember only use fresh green lauki. If it tastes bitter,
discard it. Bitter bottle gourd can be harmful. The next remedy to reduce cholesterol is
colocasia leaves. Now this colocasia leaves are heart shaped leaves. They are rich in fiber
and antioxidants. They are known to help regulate blood lipids and aids digestion.
Even research has shown that colocasia leaves are rich in phytochemicals, namely polyphenol,
which have antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, and empty hypertensive property.
Here is a simple way to use them. Take two to three fresh colocasia leaves, wash them well,
boil them in water for around 10 minutes, strain and sip the warm tea. You can add a touch of
ginger or ajwain to aid digestion. Drink this two, three times a week. Third is fenugreek seeds. Soak
a teaspoon of fenugreek seed overnight or chew them or drink the water early in the morning.
The mucilage binds fat and bile acids supporting healthy cholesterol level.
Next, let's look at how food become your medicine in reducing your cholesterol level.
When we speak of cholesterol, we often look at what to avoid, but let us focus instead on what
to include. So use traditional Indian oils like coconut oil, mustard oil, or groundnut oil for
cooking. They are rich in good fats that support heart health. Next, add flaxseed to your daily
roti dough or sprinkle on your breakfast just a half teaspoonful. Third, have turmeric with
black pepper to reduce inflammation in the body's blood vessels. A pinch in warm water
before meals is enough. Remember small, small daily act create deep long-term changes. And finally,
we have breath and movement. Now, one of the most ignored causes of high cholesterol is stress. When
the mind is anxious, the liver becomes congested. The breath becomes shallow. This is why pranayama
and regular walking is so important. Practice five minutes of Yogendra pranayama number one
or equal breathing every morning. It calms the nervous system, better blood oxygenation,
and after meals, go for a gentle walk, just 100 steps. This helps in fat digestion and reduces
cholesterol over time. Now towards the end, let's talk about some special tips which can also help
you reduce cholesterol. What you have to do is simply chew one tulsi leaf after lunch. It helps
liver metabolize fat even better. And the next thing is twice a week, apply warm castor oil to
your feet before sleeping. This reduces work, calms the nervous system and supports circulation.
Remember, cholesterol is not your enemy. It is a messenger that your wrong habits are harming
your body. So learn the right habit, eat the right food and breathe the right way to bring
balance into your body. Namaskar
