Hi welcome to Cubs baseball
here on Marquis Sports Network.
Coming up tonight it's the Cubs
and the Braves.
It's a first of a three game
set.
They're arriving those two guys
Carson Kelly and A.J.
Hatt make their way in there is
Shota Imanaga.
He is on the mound here tonight.
He Carl Armstrong getting some
running in that right knee still
a bit sore.
More on PCA coming up.
Pitchers trying to impose their
will on hitters and hitters
trying to do just the same.
There's a little roller first
base side Olsen over to Elder
Bryce imposes his will on
Michael Bush in the first pitch
of the game the two to check
swing went too far struck him
out Suzuki is gone and Elder
gets a one two three including a
pair of strikeouts.
Shota Imanaga takes the mound
would we come back for fifty
three on base.
Eleven fifty two O.P.S. second
best since nineteen oh one.
Fly ball center field Castro is
back and Willie turns and looks
and it's gone and the Cubs
killers at it again.
Ozzie all these solo homer and
it's one nothing number sixteen
Jeeves.
I mean a good player no doubt
about it but what he has done
against the Cubs.
I mean he'd be a Hall of Famer
if he faced the Cubs every day.
See what he gets here.
It's a channel fastball.
Ninety one.
That's that's middle middle
right.
Either need to be way up or
down preferably up for Shota
with that fastball.
The one one line drive and a
base hit up the middle and Ken
is a board with two outs.
Straight Baldwin now Baldwin the
catcher first pitch swinging
drives that one out towards
right center field.
That one is back and it's off
the top of the wall.
Castro will pick it up and fire
it in scrambling around and
coming in to score is Kim and
it's two nothing slugging
percentage.
Tax that very first pitch he
sees big old leg kick.
It's all about trying to
generate power there.
He's not trying to punch the
ball.
He's trying to drive the ball
and just misses the 16th home
run.
The one one line drive base hit
left field.
Pat will pick it up.
Baldwin to the plate throw is
too late and in the score is
Drake Baldwin RBI single and
Acuna ends the skin.
It's three nothing.
Jota ready and that one rolled
to the right side.
Horner picks it up.
And that's that ground ball
hard hit base hit right field
and with two outs a man aboard
and the righty deals fly ball in
the air out towards left field
profile has it and out number
three.
We're midway in the second and
the Braves lead it.
The one to swing and a miss
even Naga gets him and one two
three go the Braves Jota even
Naga with it.
And then this guy is chipped in
and played very nicely on the
ground right side.
All these flags it down and gets
it to Olsen.
Inside corner another strikeout
for Elder that is his fifth
Bush frozen.
We're midway in the third
Jojo Romero squat and delivers.
Swing and a line drive into
right field and a base hit
Olsen who struck out his first
time.
Fly ball left field half his
back back onto the track and
makes the catch.
Learn a little bit more about
that routine.
We'll get to it in a sec.
Happ swings here drives it to
right Acuna backtracking on to
the track and he makes the
catch.
Lane in his first game as a
designated hitter and he lifts
that one to right field Acuna
three outs in the air and the
Cubs go one two three.
Swing and a miss struck him out
and Acuna is gone one away
coming on that split finger
pitch steady diet of them to
Acuna and continues his
struggles.
Yeah you volunteer to coach
baseball unpaid at a D3 school
and then you're an umpire
observer.
Cool stuff.
Swanson handles that chance and
one two three go the Braves
Swanson swings and misses Elder
gets him and one two three go
the Cubs.
Tonne strikeout rate is 18.2
percent and that's laced into
right field and a base hit.
He gets a cookie take a bite off
the outside edge.
There's the walk and now an
opportunity for bloopers buddy
Seah Suzuki Suzuki back in.
Hit hard diving stop it short by
Kim safe at second and
everybody's safe.
Great job by Ian Haff to beat the
throw at second.
Kim we want to go glove a couple
of years ago with the Padres and
he's got a shot at Seah but he
tries to go the short way to
second base in a spot on Bo
Hustle by half beats the rap
slide brought to you by
Wisconsin Dell's dot com.
PCA bounces this one to the
right side and Olsen to Elder to
end the inning.
Fly ball right field.
And Suzuki makes the catch.
Elder.
And that one ripped into left
field and that's a base hit and
slipping down is pro for
Horner's into second.
It's all man in scoring position
comes down three zip where the
seven three two hard hit ground
ball all these grabs it throws
him out and on the play Nico to
third.
Chopped towards third.
That's a fair ball and Horner
stayed on the bag and then a
collusion collision with Alvarez
everybody's safe.
A snicker waving it off it's
going to be a base hit for
Dan's beat.
We came off the base time the
tag was not.
And I say tag I mean he wasn't
trying to he was trying to he
was trying to tag him actually
but Nico leaves the bag the
glove leaves Nico.
Yep we're playing a great job.
Runner takes off from first
Swanson is in and that pitch a
strike on a breaking ball to
Matt Shaw.
Baldwin made no move to try to
make a throw drilled out towards
left center field Harris coming
on and he makes a running catch.
Horner will tag Nico into score
and the Cubs are on the board
it's three one it's pretty good
grab by Harris out left center.
Good range he's got a strong arm
slider breaking pitch right off
the outside edge and that leans
out.
Pretty good ride.
Harris is too fast on the ground
right side Olson Johnson gets
over.
Cubs get on the board but they
leave a man it's three one time
to stretch three and two Saval
Rettigin fires in a line drive
back up the middle of the base
hit.
You know what I'm saying.
Like I get you I was raised on
National League runner goes
throw to second say.
To one down popped up right side
Bush charging in Michael.
Is there to make the catch and
Savali pitches around the single
and the steel will head to the
eighth it's three one.
Line drive right field Acuna
almost overran it.
Swing and a miss and Suzuki is
gone and the Cubs go one two
three swing and a high fly ball
center field Castro back the
track at the wall and it's gone.
Olson with the homer and the
Braves get some insurance on his
twenty third it's for one.
The feeling he was sitting
breaking ball there first pitch
breaker and he smoked it and
straightaway center field on a
curve ball splashdown.
The one one is inside.
Did it get him.
And I Sonia says it got him.
Two and two here comes high fly
ball right field playable for
Suzuki Saia.
We'll go to the ninth last
chance for the Cubs down three.
Bases and whatever pregame work
he did three to.
Inside corner got him and that's
the ball game.
