In this part of The Two Towers – Extended Edition, Gandalf and his companions confront the corrupted state of King Théoden, who has fallen under the influence of Gríma Wormtongue. Gandalf reveals Wormtongue’s manipulation and frees Théoden from Saruman’s control. Théoden, now restored in strength and mind, banishes Wormtongue, reunites with Éomer, and prepares Rohan to stand against the coming war. The Golden Hall is no longer a place of despair, but a rallying point for hope and resistance.
Gandalf?
Breathe the free air again, my friend.
Your fingers would remember their old strength better if they grasped your sword.
I've only served you, my lord.
Your leechcraft would have had me crawling on all fours like a beast.
Send me not from your sight.
No, my lord! No, my lord!
Let him go.
Enough blood has been spilled on his account.
Where is my son?
