52” Litex (Air Cool) Signet Deluxe Ceiling Fan (1986)

Hey guys, here's a litex signet deluxe ceiling fan in polished brass with five cane blades The fans got footprint vents and it's hanging in my bedroom on the bedroom fan display I got it at Habitat. It's got tulip shades, which did not come with the fan originally Originally it had Casablanca glass, but I immediately took that off because well Casablanca glass belongs on a Casablanca So anyways, let's check it out Shades, it's got cane Footprint vents, filigree sideband The canopy and the mounting bracket are not original and the downrod is not original either. The fan is in really good condition Yeah We'll come over here and we'll turn it on Yeah, I paid $25 for this And this thing's not focused There you go, all right, so now let's check it out There's low Bearings are great. The OEM for this is air cool and air cools are By far probably the greatest OEMs that made like relatively inexpensive fans like light text Hampton Bay and Palm Air They're just real good fans real good air movers for being relatively inexpensive See that low speed is pretty fast It is humming a little bit that's typical for an air cool but This is a major childhood fan for me My grandma it has one of these in her family room that has stencil blades and then but it looks exactly like this except it has a different light kit and stencil blades with the more fancier looking stencil and then The stockyards has one of these you can see that light is vibrating One of those glows must be this I don't like these I'm about to take this light off but One of those but anyway, the stockyard has one of these an antique brass With no lights and plain blades that I think might have stencil or cane on them. I'm about to take this light off. Here's medium The pull chains came with it I didn't add them myself they came with it You can see when it starts wobbling it starts exaggerating that light Trying to tighten it up, but you can see medium is going very fast Medium is like a normal high speed. This thing is whipping I'd say medium is going about 180 rpm 170 rpm Pretty fast medium. It's like your average high speed and I can feel some air from it, too Yeah, these air cools you yeah these air cools they're very good my Hampton Bay wind where it goes this fast on medium it was just it might be cheap, but These are really really really good fans All right. Let's see. Hi wobble does pick up a little bit, but Again, that light is just exaggerating everything And I don't know why it does that every time you put one of these four lights or five lights on it Exaggerates the wobble But it's moving a lot of air and it's going pretty fast Definitely over the 200 rpm mark Blowing a lot of air, too See this light I'm not sure if you can see it too well on camera, but this light is exaggerating everything All right, let's come back over here And we're gonna watch it coast Like it but yeah Again barons are good fans quiet other than my maybe a little home the light kid. I don't know what I'm gonna do about that but You can see the glows are kind of the kind of bouncing I I Don't know if it might be but I keep I keep trying to tighten it But I don't know what I'm gonna do with that light Yeah, I do like that. It's a four loop arm light because most of the time you see the loop arm It's usually five lights. You don't usually see him on four lights Usually for straight arm like this not the loop arms Yeah, this fan is definitely gonna stay on my collection This fan belongs in somebody's like because again, my grandma's was in a family room living room So this fan belongs like a family room living room Yeah, this is real good Well, it's over somebody's dining room table. Oh After that to check this camera work, but yeah real good fan good fan the blades do have some things on them like little blemishes because When I got it, it had the plain side showing so I put the cane down and stuff a little bit of blemishes on it Kind of like my fastball gold string has blemishes on the stencil because it has the plain side showing The air cool is one of those most distinctive like OEMs They have very distinctive traits like the blade brackets the switch housings the motor housings the shape of the blades Those are all just definitive air-cooled traits and then you obviously have to look at it see like what the brand was, but The only brand that air cool made footprint vents that I can think of besides Murray Feist of latex so Yeah These fans got a long spin down. Those bearings are great and the bulbs I think I have two incandescents an LED and a CFL and The canopy and mounting bracket. I'm borrowing from my latex Ellington the down run. I had lying around And then the tulip shades I'm borrowing from my latex Ellington, too Because again the Casablanca ones look more appropriate on a Casablanca So I still have the glasses in my closet And the fan has stopped.
