It's MLS on FS1 from South Florida.
Enter Miami, set to host Nashville SC.
Three changes for Miami in the starting 11.
And the two up top is where your eyes are immediately going to go.
Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Those two, the combination, one of the best duos in Major League Soccer.
But they don't do as much defensively.
So the block of eight have to sit in and be very tight and compact.
Kramoski in the middle will have a big role.
He'll need to be able to be very mobile to cover some ground
and go impress Nashville SC as they sit two defensive midfielders today
to help win the middle of the park.
Segovia, Kramoski and Martinez, the newcomers.
Meanwhile for Nashville, played earlier in the week in the Open Cup
and they've gone really to their best 11 outside of the missing Jonathan Perez.
Nashville's duo of Serge and Mokhtar will look to cause problem
with their unpredictability of their movement.
Trying to find pockets of space to get in behind the midfield,
but just in front of the back four.
Schaffelberg and Kossum will have a big role in this.
Transitional moments are what hurt inter-Miami.
If Schaffelberg and Kossum can get out into space one-v-one,
then Mokhtar and Serge will try to find space to get on the end of the service.
Suarez was offering, now Messi's played him.
Luis Suarez offering across Kramoski right at Willis.
...to Benhami Kramoski from his central midfield role,
but it's not a strength of his game.
And when he gets up there, it's unconvincing.
Schaffelberg got a piece, it's still on through Allende.
Messi, Allende, Messi.
He's down.
Brutal real estate to give away to Leo Messi from Eddie Taksif.
Free kick Miami.
...to play the ball in, but then quickly get the other side to the defender.
And the soccer IQ to just put your plant foot in between the...
Messi!
Man can hardly think of what Messi does, day in, day out.
It's a stutter, it's Miami ahead.
That is 70 direct free kick goals.
What a kind career.
Another Messi moment of magic.
Just when the assumption is he's going to go up and over the wall,
Joe Willis, that little hop step to his left,
to prepare to go to his left,
then all of a sudden has to recalibrate the genius of Messi to understand.
Got a clean landing, Busquets sweeps back.
Give-and-go off Segovia.
The yellow card is going to come with it for Yazbek, his fifth this season.
The movement and the one-touch passing,
the quick thoughts into Miami, into this position.
Lovely little touch on that is just Segovia,
getting into the back of Suarez.
The second Suarez feels that tug of the jersey from Yazbek,
he's always going to get on the end of these.
Messi! Torque Falcone!
Lifted up and above the bar by Palacios.
What a sliding effort to serve that up above the bar.
This is the scariest feat towards your own goal,
knowing you're going to have to make a play on it.
By one way or the other, it gets up and over.
I'm not sure that's exactly how Jason would have meant to get that up.
He gets back into the lineup today,
and this is a look at that play in which that was a wonderful delivery.
That's exactly what they've done. Here's Lovitz.
Lovitz crafting service up,
header across, Surge out of room.
Without a doubt, the best passenger play from Nashville SC.
Slow in his ability to get out wide to Lovitz,
but great deception.
Lovitz, who's primarily and mainly left-footed,
sells that fake to be able to get on the right.
Kossum knows he's not going to be able to be able to start from that,
so he's trying to play that to Pat and to Surge.
Inches away from Nashville SC.
Equalizing right before half.
Andy Nahar.
Curls the ball in. Muntar!
It had to be Hadi.
It is Nashville on level terms right out of halftime.
And the MVPs have certainly stepped up tonight.
The all-star Nahar with a world-class assist.
Nashville SC did not have nearly enough movement in the final third in the first half.
And the halftime team talk would have changed that.
This goal happens, though, because of the movement, selflessly.
14th at the near part of your screen.
He's going to run. The defender, Martinez, out of the space.
That's where Muntar attacks.
And this ball hangs up.
And watch the extra power that Muntar gets by snapping this header down.
It starts outside of the post. It ends up inside the post.
Nothing Ustari could do about it.
And that is the response that Nashville SC needed.
And who else but Hadi Muntar to ignite that
off of the wonderful service from the all-star Andy Nahar.
Nashville's sixth head of goal this season.
Top five in the league.
Brightest headlights. Sorry, floodlights tonight.
1-1 in Fort Lauderdale.
The Miami top three in the league in points per game.
Trying to make up for lost time for Messi.
But Palacios gives Willis quite a bit to think about.
And he gave it away to Messi.
Messi around Willis. It is Leo Messi!
Five games, five races.
Miami's talisman is there again.
Messi just continues to deliver.
His intention is to just go and chase this down.
Willis is comfortable in possession here.
But it's just that little bit of a chance in which Messi takes
where he jumps the route.
He did it earlier this season against Columbus.
Stole it off of the goalkeeper.
He does it again here.
And then the patience and the ability to just round Willis.
Understand where Jack Mayer is.
It's just so smart.
One of the greatest to ever do it.
His head is up.
It's just passed in.
And he stands everybody on his feet.
He's got everybody in the palm of his hand.
And he continues to deliver to a chance full of Messi.
Messi around.
Nahar. Surge.
Held off successfully.
Taksev kept it.
Slipped ahead now through.
It's Mukhtar!
Off the outside of the netting.
It is a corner.
Willis gets played around the corner brilliantly.
This is such a little ball that has so much care
and caress on it from Alex Will.
Mukhtar knows the frustration.
Jordi Alba.
Messi returns. Jordi Alba.
End line service.
Tried to take that out of the air.
Slaps into the ground and over to Willis.
If Suarez scores that,
you'll never see or hear the end of it.
A possession that just took the life
out of Nashville SC.
Countless passes.
Suarez sold out for it.
Just didn't catch it cleanly with the onrushing defender.
That's to give you a view very
similar to what Joe Willis would have seen
in that moment.
Just a few steps off, but there was the effort there.
The lane was there.
It is done.
Messi again
embraced five consecutive
league games. Five
straight wins for Miami.
They continue to catapult up
the standings. A 2-1
win over Nashville.
