It feels like the first day of school, doesn't it?
In the hospital accommodation.
Please God.
This was such a good day.
It made me reconsider my career choices.
In my first morning that I start doctoring,
I realise that I don't even have a complete pair of scrubs to go to work in.
Flipping out.
I accidentally got two...
Oops.
Scrub tops and no scrub bottoms.
So, I'm just going to have to go to hospital early
and get a scrub bottom from the linen room.
It's a mess, but I am back.
Good morning.
Come in, baby.
But I'm running low on time.
Okay, let's see what I can take with me for lunch.
The good thing is, mum made some sarma,
which is basically Turkish rice wrapped in leaves.
It looks like this.
So, that's what we're going to take with us,
with some yogurt, of course.
I don't think it quite matches, but I'm going to force it.
Third time emptying this dish into a new plate,
but I can't find a matching tupperware.
Yay!
I don't know what to expect, to be honest.
I just know that I need to be there at 9am,
and it is a one and a half hour drive away from here.
And that I will be in diabetes medicine for the next four months.
Apparently, we have induction today,
so hopefully I won't need to wear scrubs.
So, that means I can save time by not going into the linen room,
and go straight to the ward.
We're back in the hospital accommodation phase, so...
Let me give you a tour using this camera
that I've been using for the whole vlog so far.
Insta360 Go Ultra.
At the end of this tour, I'll tell you
exactly how much this place cost me.
Okay.
This is the bedroom.
Quite a large desk, actually.
This is filming in 4K, by the way.
Even though it's super compact and lightweight,
ideal for vlogging.
And it detaches like this.
Which is crazy.
So, you can mount it anywhere.
This is the camera that just caught me
almost crashing into the road earlier.
We're in the bathroom now.
You're actually stuck to the shower tray
because the back of this action pod is magnetic,
so you can stick it to almost any metal surface.
Also, compared to the previous version,
they upgraded this camera
with longer-lasting battery life,
high image quality,
stronger low-light performance,
removable SD storage.
Let's go to the kitchen now.
There is a spider on the floor, by the way.
Why does this look like it's been here
for years and years?
This is part of the reason why
I want to live in a proper house.
This is the kitchen.
I was also using this camera this summer
during my travels.
And it comes with this pendant
for cool hands-free POV shots.
So, you can add different perspectives
to your vlogs.
If that interests you,
check out this pocket camera
using the link in my bio.
Price review.
I share my kitchen with two other doctors.
And for four nights,
I paid £109.
Hello!
We're having our bread coffee outside.
Our first day of induction.
Yeah.
It has vibes, actually.
It is vibes.
It feels like first day of school, doesn't it?
Well, last for me,
because I'm going to the village.
He's going to where we were doing
our first year, basically.
Which we don't think.
The unnamed city.
Unnamed city?
Well, village.
But yeah, so I'm glad to be in the...
What do you call it?
You know, when a city is like...
Brought up.
It's like...
My English is so bad.
When a city is brought up.
Like developed.
Yeah, developed, but like they say...
Cosmopolitan.
Metropolitan.
Something like that.
It's like...
Town, village.
I'm back in the thingy, you'd say.
Oh, civilization!
How many doctors does it take
to figure out what English word...
For doctors, one minute.
Yeah, I feel like I'm back in civilization,
so I'm super happy to be here.
It's nice.
It's nice views from the hospital.
We just had our ID cards.
You don't have to show it, I'll probably blur it.
We're just having a break,
we're not doing anything today.
Until 12 o'clock.
Yeah, we're just going to have induction.
Black Wednesday.
Wait, what's Black Wednesday?
So every year, when there's new people rotating,
whether it's F1s, F2s, IMTs, everyone,
it's called Black Wednesday.
Because all the teams change across the whole country.
And it's the worst day for patients to get admitted.
Because everything is busy.
There's no coordination, no one knows each other.
I work on orthopedics.
I have no idea what the word is.
I don't even know the name of the word.
So, yeah, it is what it is.
Oh, okay, I think I've heard of it.
Yeah, so Black Wednesday.
It's quite sunny for a Black Wednesday, isn't it?
It is, it's such a lovely day.
I'm doing like a time-lapse-y thing now.
He isn't checking himself out.
He's a vlogger now.
He checks himself out.
So embarrassing.
Let's go in.
I can't, I can't breathe.
One medication.
Thank you.
So we did go.
Vitamin D was no.
We just had some lunch.
Now we're chilling outside
whilst waiting for our induction to start.
It's the same username and password you had for alligators.
Does that even know what that is?
Yay!
We're done for the day.
I had such a good day.
This was such a good day.
Honestly, I'm so happy.
Compared to what I experienced last year
on my first day as a doctor,
like, it's crazy how different I feel right now.
Obviously, it's also because
I'm...
I did not really prefer the place
that I was working in last year.
And, you know, everyone was a lot more...
Now that I actually feel closer to home
because this town is a lot closer to home for me
and I met the team, everyone's so nice.
I don't know, it feels...
It feels good.
Life is looking up.
And also it's crazy how there are more junior doctors
than me working on that ward.
I'm so used to being the most junior doctor
now that I'm not a baby doctor anymore.
I have doctors that are more junior than me.
It feels like I'm very experienced,
which I am.
Not very, but...
I feel a lot more confident compared to last year
and more comfortable doctoring.
So, yeah, it's crazy
how much I feel like I've grown.
I finished my week of working at this new hospital
and came to the end of this four-day rental
in this accommodation
because I was only staying here temporarily
whilst waiting for my new house to be ready.
And I just got the call.
Yes, exactly.
Okay, lovely. Thank you, bye.
So tomorrow I will be moving
to my very first own place ever.
I never lived alone in my life,
so I'm excited.
I feel like a proper adult, you know?
Please, God,
don't let me
need a hospital accommodation stay
ever again in my life.
Obviously, never say never, you know?
If I need to, I will happily...
Not happily, but I will be back.
I'm hoping my life in hospital accommodation
has come to an end now.
It's my sister's birthday celebration tomorrow.
It feels good that I don't need to miss
my family's and friends'
birthdays and special days anymore
because I don't live too far anymore.
But that's the thing, like, as a doctor,
especially during training,
you can go any part of the country.
They can send you anywhere
and if you want to continue training,
you just have to stick it out.
Doctors don't have much location freedom
and me realising how important it is for me
made me reconsider
my career choices.
Yeah.
