So, tell us who you are, please.
My name is Jessica Sanchez. I'm 29 years old and I sing.
And I was actually on the very first season of America's Got Talent.
Oh my God!
20 years!
I've been singing since I was a little girl.
It's fun and it's really my hobby and stuff.
But me trying out for America's Got Talent, that was a whole different world.
Just the excitement and the thrill of it all.
I came here to sing and to try to win this competition.
Jessica Sanchez!
I didn't want this so bad.
I made it to the semifinals.
Thank you, Jessica, very, very much.
Sorry to say, the journey ends now.
I did get eliminated. It was devastating.
But it really did help me realize I want to sing.
AGT was the beginning of that fire sparked inside of me.
So, tell me what happened after that.
Throughout the years, I kind of fell out of love of music
because I was really young and I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be,
who they wanted me to be.
And so, you know, it took me, maybe it took me 20 years,
but I know exactly who I am. I know exactly what I want.
Good.
Well, that's what it's all about.
Every artist, I believe, should know the lane to go down.
You found your lane now.
Yes, I found my lane and I am married now.
And I'm actually, another surprising thing is
I recently found out that I'm pregnant.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
This is amazing.
Is it your first one?
It is.
Okay, let me tell you, this is the best thing that can ever happen in your life.
Ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.
I'm very happy for you.
Thank you.
Okay.
Jessica, 20th anniversary.
Hope you do well.
We're excited for you.
Seriously, good luck.
Come on, Jessica.
Lately I've been doing better
Than the last four cold Decembers I recall
And I see my family every month
I found a boy my parents love
He'll come and stay the night
And I think I might have it all
And I thank God every day
That's a feeling I wanna get used to
But there's no girl as terrified
As a girl who stands to lose you
Please, I need you, oh God
I need
These beautiful things that I've got
I was saying earlier, the only people that matter are the people behind us.
I think they like you.
Yeah, I gotta say, wow, 20 years is a long time, but well worth the wait.
I'll tell you something, I love that song.
And you've made this song your own
And you blew the roof off the place.
You are so wonderful.
Jessica, I'm speechless.
You've got a voice of a bloody angel.
Beautiful.
Thank you so much.
Oh, I'm lost for words.
Lost for words.
I think something very special happened on the stage with you.
It's so amazing that we're on the 20th anniversary, the 20th season of AGT.
You're here again after 20 years.
You're pregnant.
I mean, you're so beautiful.
You're so ready to do all this.
I mean, I really don't understand what happened in these 20 years.
But I guess they were meant to be because this was a special moment.
And I think that you deserve this.
Oh my gosh.
Thank you.
It was all clicking when she was over there.
Me too.
She was excited, and I'm pregnant, and I was here 20 years ago, and we're on the 20th season.
And she sang the way she did.
I mean, you deserve it.
You deserve it.
Can I interrupt?
You know, to succeed, you've got to have real determination and talent.
All those years of really wanting something and just going for it.
It was powerful, right?
Beautiful.
Yeah.
I mean, seriously, you're an absolute star.
Thank you.
You did so freaking good.
Thank you.
Love you, baby.
How are you?
I am great.
And what's your name?
My name is Jordan Bloom.
And where are you from?
I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana.
How old are you, Jordan?
I'm 23.
Tell me or tell us a little bit about you.
Well, growing up, my mom was a cop, my dad was a lawyer, so naturally I was a rebel.
And I kind of got myself into some trouble and ended up living with my grandpa.
And he's a big music listener, and that inspired me to get into it.
I started street performing in New Orleans because I really wanted to just fully dive into it.
And as you might remember, at the beginning of the year, there was an attack on New Orleans,
right on the exact block where I perform.
Sorry.
Are you serious?
It made me realize that there's so much more to live for.
Yeah.
That's what made me choose AGT.
I feel like this is the best way to level up.
So there's a lot at stake here.
Well, we always say on this show, two minutes literally can change your life, right?
So good luck.
She's so good.
Wow.
She's so good.
You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I'll take the blame
I try to make sense of a little remain
Cause you left me with no love and no love to my name
Still alive but I'm barely breathing
Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't break
No it don't break, no it don't break even
What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're okay
I'm falling to pieces
I mean, I'm in love with you.
The hair, the voice, your energy.
You're a rock star.
You know what, it was like I was hearing that song for the first time.
Which is really hard to do with such a popular song.
But your tone and the way that you delivered that song was not only pitch perfect
But everything perfect, Jordan.
It really was.
Thank you.
You know what's so interesting, Jordan?
I think you are somebody, maybe lost their way a little bit
But like you said, through music has now found your way
But you have such a distinctive voice
You are so cool and you feed off the audience.
They love you.
And how you made me feel just then was actually amazing.
Seriously amazing.
Loved it, loved it.
You know, this is season 20.
I've seen dreams come true right where you're standing.
Lives change right where you're standing.
And that stage and that moment can take you anywhere.
This is just the beginning of where you can go.
Who's that?
That's my girlfriend and my newborn son.
Oh wow, look at this.
That's his son.
He's adorable.
And he's 23, right?
23 years old.
Welcome.
What's your name, please?
My name is Charity Lockhart.
Charity?
Yes.
That's a beautiful name.
Thank you.
Okay.
Tell us a little bit about you.
Well, I am 49 years old.
Going on 50 this year.
Right.
Charity, what is your story?
Why are you here?
Well, I absolutely love to sing.
I love music.
But I also love my children.
I have two children.
They're little.
One is 27.
And the other one I can hold, he's 21.
Okay.
How do they feel about you being here?
They're saying, Mom, get together, because I've been really, really nervous.
You know, when my kids were younger, long ago, we ended up living in a car after a divorce.
And all I had was my voice.
And so I went to clubs, and I went to bars, and I asked live bands if I can sing with them.
And they would give me a little money at the end of the night.
And so I entered vocal competitions.
You know, not this big.
Not this big.
It was a local competition.
And that we won.
We won a monetary award, and that gave us our first apartment.
So we got our first apartment from that.
Wow.
Okay, so you have definitely earned your place here, Charity.
And after everything you've gone through, what would be the ultimate dream now?
I want to keep singing and, of course, probably collect a Grammy along the way.
You know what's great?
You know what I've learned, Charity, over the years?
If you've got talent, I believe anything's possible now.
Seriously.
I do.
So, we are all honestly rooting for you right now.
Come on.
Okay.
Okay, okay.
Oh, I'll get you some water.
Water, please.
I got it for her.
I hope she's good.
I really hope so.
Come on.
Somewhere
The rainbow
Way up high
There's
A
That I've heard of
Once
In a lullaby
Somewhere
Home
Um, Charity.
I stopped you because I like you.
But it just wasn't working for me.
Have you got another song?
Anything.
Yes.
Look, I really want this to work for you.
And I know this is a lot of pressure.
But, come on, you've got it in you.
Let's hear the other song.
I'll do my best, I promise.
All right, deal.
Once there was a way
To get back
Once there was a way
To get back
Will sing
Spill your
Don't cry
And I will sing
Yes!
Oh, gosh.
You know what?
This is what a great audition is all about.
You know, we could be going to talk about you the following day.
That was one of those auditions.
It was that good.
You see somebody, you connect with them,
and they just bring more and more to the table.
I think you're amazing.
And I want to give you this.
Right now.
Amazing.
