When it comes to green bananas they are underrated because they don't absorb in
flavor perfectly. In this recipe I'm going to be showing you a vegan friendly recipe
which is going to consist of very few fresh ingredients and spices and the outcome is
going to be delicious as always and it's going to take only 20 to 30 minutes of your time
Prep up your fresh ingredients ahead that is tomatoes, carrots, we have some green onions,
red onion, we have coriander and I have some boiled green peas ready for the recipe. If you
don't have some just boil your green peas for around five minutes and then you're going to
make this delicious recipe. Also you're going to peel a few fresh green bananas ready for the
recipe and we have several other ingredients which you're going to find listed in the description box
down below so let's get cooking. We're going to place a pan or a pot over medium high flame
add in two tablespoons of cooking oil. This is a very fast recipe so you need to
prep up all the ingredients so that cooking can get easier for you. I'm going to grab a spatula
and into my pan I'm going to add in my onion which I'm going to saute for around a minute until it's
soft or translucent. Also I'm going to add in my green onions which have tons of flavor
so I'm adding in the white part which are going to saute together with the onion.
When the color is perfect you're going to add in one chicken stock cube which you can substitute
with some vegetable seasoning cube to make the recipe vegan friendly. Also I'm going to add in
a seasoning cube. Brush using my spatula. Add in a quarter teaspoon of chili flakes.
Stir in your tomatoes and cook for around one to two minutes. If you notice that your pan is drying
out you can add in a splash of water so that the water can help the tomatoes to cook through.
Also at this point I'm going to add in one medium carrot. Cover and let the tomatoes cook.
I love how it's been around two minutes and we are almost halfway
which means the recipe is going to be a fast one. Halfway you're going to check on your tomatoes so
that you can make sure they're not burning. When it comes to seasoning the stock cube and the
seasoning cube have a little bit of salt and so much flavor so you can substitute with salt to
make the recipe very simple. And at this point I'm going to check on my tomatoes to make sure
they're not burning. Stir in. This is how your tomatoes should be looking when ready so now
add in your chopped up green bananas. Stir in and as you can see the sauce has a very nice vibrant
red color from the tomatoes. The cooking time for your green bananas is going to be around six to
eight minutes and also it's going to depend on the size that you have chopped up your bananas.
We are going to add in one and a half cups of water. Stir in. Cover and let everything come
to a boil. Then you're going to check the seasoning. If it's not perfect you're going
to add in a little bit more salt. We have some green peas and coriander for garnishing and
because mine are parboiled I'm going to wait for the green bananas to cook halfway. If yours are
not parboiled you can add in at this point so that they can cook together with the green banana.
After adding in your green peas you're going to cook everything over low flame for around
two to three minutes at most. And as you can see my green peas still have that nice green color
and if you don't know how to retain that green color you can check up here or in the description
box for the full detailed recipe on how to boil your green peas. I'm going to check the seasoning
a final time. We have a little bit of sweetness from the green peas. It's well seasoned. The green
bananas are cooked perfectly so now it's time to garnish with a little bit of coriander. If you
notice that the gravy is thickening up too much you can add in a splash of water so that you can
get some a little bit of soup to enjoy your green bananas. So I'm going to garnish with coriander
which is going to add in flavor and color. Put on the flames and serve.
I'm going to grab a spatula for serving my delicious meal. The green bananas are tender
and they've absorbed in that kick of spiciness from the chili flakes. The green peas still have
that nice color which means that they're super delicious and we have a very nice sweet gravy for
enjoying the green bananas. So this is a recipe worth trying because it's
going to take less of your time and it's going to turn out absolutely amazing.
