Messi vs Seattle Sounders | Goal, Assist & Revenge Win! 🔥🐐 | 16/09/2025

Welcome to South Florida. This broadcast of MLS on Apple TV is presented by T-Mobile. And welcome. Lionel Messi and Rodrigo de Paul enter Chase Stadium without Luis Suarez. Suspended again tonight because of his actions after the final whistle of that Leagues Cup final. That is intriguing. Fully loaded with Rusnak and Moore as a threat. Particularly out wide. Miami's only won one of their last five in soccer. Navigate a match. Jesus Ferreira. Obed Vargas made it difficult for Miami 16 days ago. The rematch is next. In that Leagues Cup final. Lionel Messi. Underway at the Leagues Cup final. The gaps from the midfield to the field. Three tonight for Inter-Miami. Messi will take this corner into the near post. High into the air off of Yemar. Back to Messi. Ferreira defends. Jordi Alba. Into Lionel Messi. Christian Roldan almost won it but Messi comes away with it. It's Breit. Javier Mascherano's big message about those losses. Going through that spell. It's better to be safer than sorry. Breit takes it away. Now Jordi Alba coming forward. Jordi Alba! This time it's Messi to Alba. And this time it's Miami opening the scoring. One-nil! 50 minutes. They went five straight games without doing so. He's facilitating possession. Messi sliding out. You would think that Frey would try to hit that back post. But knew who do it. And all the players are now in better spots. Trying to leave it for Messi. Gets there before Vargas. Breit pops it out to Alba. And here comes DePaul. Leaving it for Messi. Now Messi, that swing and a miss. It's been sloppy. Some of that may be because it's a Tuesday, not a Wednesday game. Over to Lionel Messi. Busquets into Messi. Back to Busquets. The Orlando game, I should say, three weeks ago. As this is over the top for Messi. He settles. Messi! Patient! Messi! Recognize that. He keeps him onside. But then everything slows down for him. And yet I'm going to sit there and pin out the obvious. I mean, what you marvel at with Lionel Messi is in these moments where he's... But every time... 22 games, 22 days for Inter-Miami. Making up all the games missed. Messi serving. Wonderful career, Lionel Messi. He does continue to seem to try. A step from trying made it look good right away. Hasn't played since April 29th. And we see him today. Here's Messi trying to hold off Roldan. Roldan does well to win it. Messi. Right. Messi. Allente. Busquets. Messi and DePaul. A TV plus. Jordi Alba. Messi! Sneaks it past Frey. Messi breaks his mini-drought. And Miami double their lead. Win a ton of tackles, so you're almost forcing Bright and DePaul to do a little bit more extra. Being this first half. Messi just cutting against the... Messi cuts inside. Allende. Back to Messi. Messi! Messi with the right foot. Allende fouled, but a referee allowed play to continue. First time since Messi and Jordi Alba joined the team. Messi the second. To Miami. Shutout to get Jordi Alba behind, but it pops out to Messi. Keeping it away from Kim Kihee and Mnungu. Allende wasn't making... Why not? Messi. Sliding it to Frey. Miami players 16 days ago. The future may be on the left. The forever on the right. Bruce Knock, their playmaker. Their number 10. 10 goals, 7 assists this year. Can Miami take advantage? Bright. Right in from distance. This ball whipped in! And how did Miami take advantage on the set piece? Ian Frey makes it 3-0! And the scoreline... His hand wrapped up anyway. It did look like he was trying to come on to defend that corner and was not allowed because of the off-field treatment rule. ...Mascherano would have wanted. Messi. Poked away by Kim Kihee, but he gets it back. And wins another... To the back post, Overeem. Want to make sure they're at Lupin Field as much as possible in the postseason. Up against it today. When inevitably Owen Vargas makes a big move somewhere. Here's Noah Allen back to Lionel Messi. A new group from behind. Also staying alive in the supporter show race. The reality is, with so many games in hand, if they went out and give themselves in where they know that 100%. They're as competitive of a group as there is. And here is Messi looking for a fourth. It's... Into Jordan Morris. Morris, cutting it! Seattle pull them back. And it's Miami's nemesis. It's Owen Vargas. So Miami won't finish off with... Out big. It's Miami's third goal. With Kim Kihee off the field. Because of the off-field treatment rule. They're getting his hand through Schatz into Messi. The player comparison is presented by Celsius. Pure passion and maximum energy with zero sugar. The expected... To Messi. Behind Reagan. Lionel Messi! Just comes from a bad giveaway. Messi gets it from Schatz. It turns. Messi. It was blocked. Leaving it for Lionel Messi. Back to DePaul. Messi. Neumann gives that away. Messi. Floats it over to Jordi Alba. That Brian Schmetzer's used more often than not. Messi looking for Silvetti. Who brings it down. He cuts over to Rodrigo DePaul. Messi in the middle! He missed it. For Seattle tonight. Messi tried to get it over to DePaul. It was... Messi. Will step forward. Finds Silvetti. Messi continuing his run. Gets it back. Messi a couple steps. One of their games in hand. On their quest for a second straight supporters shield.
