President of the Parliament Excellency Ambassador from Japan and many countries and also His Excellency Mr. Yang Wen-ke County Magistrate of Hsinchu and dear friends of Taiwan Ladies and gentlemen, good evening It's a great honor to join you tonight in Vienna The source and inspiration of so much world-renowned music and especially to be here in this stunning venue the Musée de l'Hiver This evening's event has been organized as part of the Continent-Wide Taiwan Culture in Europe 2025 initiative which aims to demonstrate that Taiwan is much more than just a high-tech island And tonight, when East meets West concert is a musical dialogue that very much reflects Taiwan's unique role in a global community and freedom and its deeply rooted cultural heritage has successfully absorbed a host of external influences and its traditional values harmonize with democratic ideals I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the friends of Taiwan in Austria's group for their unwavering support You are truly strengthening the bridge between our two nations And in closing, let tonight's music be a celebration of our shared values and a reminder that harmony prevails when diverse voices come together in like-minded cooperation And I would like to propose a toast to the enduring friendship and the health and success for every guest who joins our event tonight So thank you and cheers Enjoy the evening
