Hey guys, welcome to my vlog and welcome to Switzerland.
Welcome to Switzerland vlog part 2. We're boarding the train from Luzern's main station
to Interlaken and it's going to be a busy day ahead. We'll start at Lake Brienz, we'll then
ride the historic Brienz-Rotheren-Kogel train and then head up to Harder Koln. But first,
let's enjoy these stunning views.
We've just arrived at Interlaken and headed to Hotel du Nord. It is a charming four-star hotel
where we will be staying for the next three nights. We booked the twin room, which was
surprisingly spacious for Europe. We chose this hotel for its comfort and location,
which was totally worth it. The view from our window is absolutely beautiful.
While waiting by the bus station, we quickly ate some snacks we picked up from Coop,
which is also another popular supermarket here in Switzerland. And guess what? I spotted
paragliders gliding right above us. It was absolutely amazing.
After having our quick bite, we're now on bus 103, which took about 20 minutes from
Interlaken station heading to one of Switzerland's most stunning spots, Lake Brienz. Known for its
crystal clear turquoise waters and breathtaking mountain backdrop, it's truly a sight to behold.
Do enjoy it guys.
We then decided to take a stroll and stumbled upon this beautiful village.
It showcased charming lakeside houses, peaceful streets,
and stunning views that truly captured the magic of Lake Brienz.
And here we are, a stunning viewpoint perfect for Instagram photos called Isseldwaal. Enjoy it guys.
Next up, we're taking the Brienzer-Rotheren-Cogwill railway.
The oldest steam Cogwill railway in Switzerland, running since 1892.
The hour-long climb takes us up over 1,700 meters, rewarding us with breathtaking panoramic views.
Even though it was raining during our ride, the scenery was still absolutely beautiful.
Along the way, you'll see the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Brienz right below,
and on clear days, the beautiful Lake Thun in the distance. This was definitely one of
the best experiences I've ever had in Switzerland. So make sure to sit back,
relax, and enjoy the ride.
We finally arrived at the summit and only had one hour to spend here, so time was pretty tight.
Unfortunately, the clouds and the rain limited the views as we walked around,
but luckily we found a shop and cafe where you can grab a bite if you want.
We then decided to go out and enjoy the clouds and rain.
After only a few minutes of exploring, the clouds cleared just enough to reveal a view
that looked like it was straight out of a painting.
As we headed down, I captured a shot that completely stole my heart.
After arriving back to Interlaken and freshening up from our hotel,
we headed to a famous viewpoint called Harder Kohn.
You are going to take a 10-minute funicular ride up.
From 1,322 meters up, the views of Interlaken, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz,
and the Alps are absolutely stunning.
Harder Kohn is well known for its panorama restaurant, which is perched right at the
viewpoint. It's popular because you can enjoy delicious Swiss food while soaking
in breathtaking panoramic views of Interlaken, the lakes, and the Alps.
Hey guys, we're here at Harder Kohn and we're about to have our dinner
with a view, so come on guys, let me show it to you guys.
Can't complain really for a birthday dinner, so yeah.
The waiter here was really friendly and told us that cheese fondue is always served for two
and not just for one. I definitely had to try it, so I ordered one for both of us.
Cheese on fondue, guys.
Another day, another adventure. Today, we're heading out on the famous Grindelwald day trip.
Grindelwald is known as the Glacier Village because of its stunning views of the glaciers
and high alpine scenery. First, we took the train to Grindelwald from Interlaken OST station.
From there, we took a roughly 10-minute walk to Grindelwald first,
where we caught the cable car up to the summit.
As you guys can see, I was a little nervous here after watching so many final destination
movies. I've always been on edge about rides like this.
But hey, with this view, I can't complain. Grindelwald is a beauty. Enjoy it, guys.
We then go to the first cliff walk, which is an exciting metal walkway that sits out over the
edge of a cliff, giving you thrilling views of the valley and mountains below. At the end of
the walkway, there's a panoramic viewpoint that's perfect for capturing those stunning photos.
It's definitely one of the highlights of Grindelwald first.
Hey, guys. We're here at Grindelwald first, and this place is honestly unreal.
I mean, just look at that view, guys. I'm going to show it to you.
It honestly feels like something out of a postcard. Everywhere in Switzerland is really
and we are actually in a gondola. We've just done a hike from Lake Bakalpsi,
and we've done our Grindelwald first walk. It is definitely a recommendation to come here.
If you guys have any more spare time, then you guys can go to see the Lake Bakalpsi. It's an
hour going and an hour coming back, and it is very beautiful. So yeah, definitely recommend.
And yeah, I'll see you guys.
Today is another busy day in Interlaken. Our first stop is a town well known for its stunning
waterfalls called Lauterbrunnen. Since time was tight, and we only managed to see one waterfall,
which is called Staubach Falls, it was just about a 10-minute walk from the station.
It's one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls in Europe and absolutely breathtaking.
I'm going to let you guys enjoy.
We're now headed to Schilthorn, a mountain in the Bernese Alps standing at 2,970 meters high.
To get there, you'll make multiple stops on the cable car ride, adding to the adventure.
Schilthorn is famous for its appearance in the 1969 James Bond film on Her Majesty's Secret
Service. Beyond the movie, it offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic views of iconic peaks
like the Eger, Monk, and Jungfrau. If you're a Bond fan or just love breathtaking views,
However, that didn't really stop us from enjoying it. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Enjoy
it, guys. We're now heading into Spy World, an interactive James Bond exhibition here at
the Schilthorn, where the scenes from the 1969 film on Her Majesty's Secret Service were shot.
As you enter inside, you'll find original movie props, behind-the-scenes footage,
and cool gadgets straight out of the film. There are even fun photo spots where you can
pose as 007, plus interactive games and short clips that make you feel like you're in the movie yourself.
We then decided to grab a quick lunch at Piz Gloria, the iconic mountaintop restaurant that
served as a key filming location for the movie. It's not just famous for James Bond, though. It's
also known for its revolving dining room, giving you a 360-degree view of the Swiss Alps while you
eat. Honestly, it's like lunch with a constantly changing postcard view. Definitely a must if you're here.
After seeing Schilthorn and eating at Piz Gloria, we decided to stop at Murren,
which is part of the cable car stops going down, so we took advantage of it.
Murren is a charming, car-free Alpine village, known for its stunning views of the eager Monk
Its ski history and its connection, of course, to the James Bond film.
After heading down to the ground, we took a bus to Trommelback Falls, which is on the way back to
Lothar Brunnen Station, so I would recommend this to you if you guys have enough time. As you enter,
you will then need to take a tunnel lift and walking paths carved into the rock to see the falls.
Trommelback Falls is a series of spectacular, glazier-fed waterfalls hidden inside a mountain
in the Lothar Brunnen Valley. It's the only accessible underground glazier waterfalls in
Europe, carrying meltwater from the eager Monk and Jungfrau mountains, up to 20,000 liters per
second during peak melt. The power and roar inside the tunnels are incredible.
After seeing the glazier falls, we ended our day walking back down and enjoyed the views.
After an amazing time in Interlaken, it's time to make our way to our final stop, Zermatt.
Since Zermatt is a car-free town, you can take one of their electric taxis if your hotel is a
bit of a walk from the train station. We arrived at our hotel called Hotel Testa Grigia. It is a
three-star cozy, family-run hotel in the heart of Zermatt. Just a five-minute walk from the train
station in the main street. We booked a double room, and it was very spacious and clean.
The view from the balcony was so cozy and chill as well.
After checking in our hotel, we make our way for our first adventure in Zermatt,
the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car takes you up to the
highest cable car station in Europe at 3,883 meters. From there, you get breathtaking views
of the Matterhorn and the surrounding glaciers. It's a must-do for anyone visiting Zermatt.
Hey guys! We are at the Matterhorn Express, and we actually have this whole cable car all to
ourselves. Unfortunately, Matterhorn is a bit hiding right now behind the clouds,
but hopefully when we reach up there, it should be a bit clearer. So let's go and see!
So
finally arrived at the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, our first stop was to see the panoramic
platform. We then headed for the Glacier Palace, which is a stunning ice cave where you can explore
impressive ice sculptures, tunnels, and frozen chambers carved deep into the glacier.
On our last day in Zermatt, we decided to catch the Gornergrat Express to see the Matterhorn
from a whole new perspective. We booked a seat reservation as we wanted to be there first.
The best way to see the view is to sit on the right side as it ascends.
The Gornergrat Express is a cogwheel train that climbs up to 3089 meters,
offering incredible panoramic views of the Matterhorn, glaciers, and surrounding peaks.
It's one of the most scenic train rides in Switzerland and a perfect way to end our trip.
Hey guys! That's it for Switzerland. It honestly has been one of the most beautiful trips I've
ever taken, and thanks for tagging along. I hope you enjoyed my vlog. If you guys enjoyed it and
want to watch out for more, please like and subscribe. I'll see you guys!
