Hi everyone this is Kayley, welcome back to my channel. So last summer I went on an incredible
journey through 30 countries and 50 cities. Today I'm excited to share my stops number
20 and 21st of that journey, Milan and the beautiful Lake Como in Italy.
So after first day of simply having a pizza for dinner, we started our second day with
lunch at a pasta restaurant known for its hand-made pasta. The dishes were okay but
the taramisu was absolutely heavenly.
I look for the things I don't know, I stand alone, show me where the ending goes on and
I should be the last to know, all in days, I stand alone.
Past lunch, we ventured to the iconic cathedrals. Its intricate gothic architecture is splendid,
truly a masterpiece with incredible details. Adjacent to the cathedral is the Galleria,
an elegant arcade filled with high-end boutiques. The glass room and the interior were very impressive.
Then I visit a picturesque canal, this vibrant area is lined with golden yellow buildings,
cafes and bustling restaurants. Strolling along the canal during sunset was very relaxing and
I love how lively the atmosphere was. We continue to the castle, a historic fortress
surrounded by lush garden. Then we make our way to the ark, soaking in the atmosphere around it.
In the evening, we wander through the Brera district. Our dinner place offered a classic
Italian cuisine in a cosy setting. We tried a dish but honestly it was a bit disappointing,
the red dough was too raw and doughy, it's clearly underbaked and the pasta
itself was okay on average but overall it's not too impressive to us.
The next morning, we board a train to Como, the gateway to the lake. Lunch was at La
Pasipistrota where I tried the baguette with tomato, it was quite decent.
From the port, we hop on a ferry to Bellagio, often called the pearl of Lake Como.
What really makes this place special are the narrow stone staircases winding between colourful
buildings, leading you to an amazing lake view and they are lined with cute shelves and flowers
and honestly every corner feels like a postcard. After having what was probably one of the best
gelatos I've ever tasted, we continue on to Verena. This little village totally stole my heart,
with its warm toned houses, quiet little lanes and the peaceful sound of the lake.
The steep stairways tucked between the buildings open up to these dreamy views over the water.
What really stood out to me were the tall skinny trees everywhere,
they're called Mediterranean cypress trees, they're super iconic around Lake Como,
they're shaped as such a romantic vibe to the whole landscape like you're walking through a
painting. I honestly wish I had more time to spend in this village,
it's one of those places you just don't want to leave.
Milan and Lake Como offer a perfect blend of experience from historic landmarks to
enchanting villages, this part of Italy left an indelible mark on my heart. Thank you for joining
me on this journey, don't forget to like, subscribe and stay tuned for more adventures. Bye!
