Slow living in the English countryside has made this Autumn feel truly magical. Village life suits our family and our country home is slowly filling with cosy decor - a hop garland, vintage plates on the walls, the calm of candle making and the balance I find in yoga. One step at a time, I’m creating a warm and meaningful home and I welcome you inside

These recent weeks of September have been dreamy.
Village life truly suits our family and our new home feels like a safe haven among the fields and woods of the English countryside.
It's hard to believe that we are now entering the last week of a month that has been so full of small joys and coziness.

Recently during a walk among the fields surrounding our village I noticed some feral hops climbing the hedgerows.
Finding them growing so freely, so close to home felt like a sign that they were always meant to belong in our new country home.

These ordinary days of late have felt so full of magic.
Adding cozy touches to our home and sharing this joy and fulfillment with our customers through our candles feels like the best thing ever.
And we are grateful every day for your orders and support.
For Andrzej making candles is almost like meditation, he is so focused and calm.
I get my dose of relaxation from yoga, which I realized recently I have now been practicing for over 9 years.
Coming home from my evening practice to find my husband cooking dinner is what my dreams are made of.
Thank you so much for cooking.
You are welcome.
Sorry it's late today.
Cheers!

Some of you might remember my vintage plates that I thrifted a few months ago and it's time to finally put them on the wall.
It will take months or more likely years to fill all the nooks and corners of our home with artwork and meaningful decorations and I'm not going to rush this process.
I do get comments from people saying how sad my empty walls look or asking why we haven't installed a real fireplace yet, but I try to be understanding and compassionate.
Perhaps they were lucky to have everything given to them in life or maybe they are too lost in short form content to realize that a 10 second video is not the full story.
The owners of the beautiful houses we see online often spend years learning their own style, saving money or DIY their way to their dream homes.
Later it all gets condensed into a 5 second video that makes it look easy and fast, especially to people who haven't experienced any of these things themselves.
It really doesn't matter because here and now this house with its walls and corners is the real world, a shelter for my family and I'm going to make it beautiful and welcoming one step at a time.
I shared many more photos of little things and places that will hopefully inspire you to slow down and notice the magic in the ordinary in my latest blog post. I will link it in the video description.
Thank you for watching and I hope to see you on the blog.
