All right, my little ones. Gather around now. I've got a story for you tonight.
It's an old one. Older than me, even. But it holds a lesson that never gets old.
Have you ever heard the tale of the Bundle of Sticks? No? Well, let me tell you.
Long, long ago, in a quiet little village, there lived an old farmer. He wasn't rich,
but he had something far more valuable—a big family of five sons. Strong boys, hard-working
too, but—oh, how they argued! Every day they bickered—over chores, over food, over the
Now, the old man loved his sons dearly, but all their arguing made him sad. You see,
he knew that one day he wouldn't be around to guide them, and if they couldn't get along while
he was still alive, what would happen after he was gone? So he came up with a little plan.
One morning, the farmer called all his sons together.
Come here, boys, he said. I have something to show you.
Try to break this, he said, handing the bundle to the oldest son. The boy tried. He squeezed,
he twisted, he grunted and groaned, but the sticks wouldn't budge. One by one,
the rest of the sons tried too. None of them could break the bundle. Then the old man untied
the rope, and the sticks fell apart. Now, he said, break them one by one.
And just like that—crack, crack, crack—each stick broke with no trouble at all. The old
farmer looked at his sons and said softly, My boys, do you see? When the sticks were all together,
no one could break them, but when they were alone, they snapped like twigs.
He paused and looked at each of them. It's the same with you. If you keep fighting and standing
apart, you'll fall. But if you stick together, work together and support each other, no one will be
able to break you. From that day on, those brothers remembered their father's lesson.
Oh, they still argued now and then, just like all families do. But they never forgot the strength
they had when they stood as one. So, my little ones, the lesson is simple but strong. There is
strength in unity. Whether it's a family, a team, or even just friends, when we stand together,
we're stronger than when we stand alone. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe to
