Hello, how are you?
I'm really nervous.
Are you?
Yeah.
What's your name?
Lucy K.
And how old are you?
I'm 24.
24.
And where are you from, Lucy?
I'm from, originally from Nottingham, but I now live in Glasgow.
Why?
I went there to study music, and I kind of wanted to get away from bad people.
Okay, well, best of luck.
Thank you.
That's really good.
Okay, David.
Well, first of all, you are a very beautiful girl with an even more beautiful voice.
And the incredible thing is you sung a piece of opera that I don't know, most of us probably
in this room don't know, but we were all incredibly moved, and that's testament to how incredible
your voice is.
It was so moving.
We were with you all the way, and you can be so proud.
You have a gift, and I'm not an expert on opera, but that just felt wonderful to listen
to.
Great audition.
Thank you.
I couldn't take my eyes off you, and I would have listened to that all afternoon.
Just beautiful.
Well done.
You know what?
I've heard, unfortunately, a lot of stories like yourself, and I think today's the day
where you just forget about those people for the rest of your life.
And the unfortunate thing is, is that some of the best singers do sing through pain.
This is one of those things, and you've actually learned how to use that.
And I saw you change as you felt the audience's acceptance.
Today's the day you learned to smile properly, because what you just did was extraordinary.
Thank you so much.
Really special.
David?
Lucy, I love you.
It's a yes.
Lucy, it's a yes from me.
Yes from me, Lucy.
Just about you now, and your very, very special talent, Lucy.
You've got four big fat yeses.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Ladies and gentlemen, all four of them were on their feet for that performance.
Amanda?
Oh, Lucy, I mean, it was the most beautiful, haunting piece of music I've heard in a long time.
You looked stunning as well.
Honestly, I just think there's such a huge gap in the market out there.
And I think that you're the girl to fill it.
It was stunning.
Absolutely stunning.
Thank you.
Incredible.
I mean, you literally saved the show tonight.
I was on my way home, and then you came back.
And most importantly, you proved a point to yourself.
You've got rid of all the problems in your past now, I hope.
You put all that behind you now.
And you just came out.
You looked like a star.
You sounded like a star.
Your voice control was incredible.
And I am so happy that we found you on this show.
Amazing.
It was faultless, you know.
It was like we were at your concert.
I mean, your voice is absolutely beautiful.
I don't know.
What was the piece of music we were listening to?
Nella Fantasia.
And who composed it, Simon?
It was Andrew Lloyd Webber, wasn't it?
No.
It wasn't Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Who was it?
No.
Who was it?
Oh, gosh.
Don't look at me.
I didn't sing it.
Somebody composed it.
They did a beautiful job.
It was a beautiful piece of music.
You sung it absolutely faultlessly.
You are a star.
You look so beautiful tonight.
I mean, that dress is gorgeous.
I was going to wear that dress tonight, actually.
Sorry.
But yeah, I mean, you are a ready-made star.
If I was Simon Cowell, I would be signing you up tonight.
On such a personal journey, and I know how much this means to you
and how nervous you were tonight.
You just transported me in that performance.
I just love you.
I think you are a star, and I think people are going to buy tickets
to come and see you in concert.
That was fantastic.
Thank you.
