Hi friends, in this video, I will be showing you how to expand the dimensions of your image
and generate content with simple text prompts using the Generate to Expand feature in Photoshop
Beta. Generate to Expand is the latest update in the line of Firefly-powered features available
in Photoshop Beta that allows you to extend your image and bring your imagination to life.
To get started, make sure you have the Photoshop Beta app installed on your desktop. If you don't
have it yet, you can find it in the Beta Apps tab of your Creative Cloud desktop application
and simply click Install next to Photoshop Beta. Once you are all set, let's dive into
the Generate to Expand. For this, I will show you two samples, one with a text prompt and one
without any prompts. So here is the first sample. I want to expand this beautiful portrait into a
landscape. To do so, select the Crop tool from the toolbar. You will see crop borders displayed
on the sides and corners of your image. In the Options bar, click on the Fill drop-down and
select Generate to Expand, which is initially set to default. Now you can extend the canvas size to
your desired dimensions by dragging the corner and edge handles outwards. Next, look for the
Generate to Expand button in the contextual taskbar that appears and click on it. If you want the
selection to be filled based on the surrounding pixels in your image, you can leave the text
empty prompt box blank and then click on Generate. After generating the content, you will be presented
with three image options in the Properties panel. Choose the one that best suits your creative vision.
First, select the Crop tool and drag beyond the image's original canvas to your desired aspect
ratio. The generated content can be added with or without a text prompt. To generate content with
simple text prompts, type your text prompt in the on-canvas contextual taskbar. When using text
prompts, keep your language simple to describe the object or scene you want to create. For example,
type water reflections in this case and hit the Generate button. You will be able to see your
generative layer in the Layers panel. After generating the content, you will be presented
with three image options in the Properties panel. Choose the one that best suits your creative vision.
The generated content seamlessly blends with the existing image and includes appropriate shadows,
reflections, lighting, and perspective. With Generate to Expand, you will spend less time on
manual editing. This way, you can dedicate more time to experimenting and adapting your images to
suit your creative needs. That's it for this video, guys. Thanks for watching. Have fun exploring the
exciting possibilities with Generate to Expand in Photoshop Beta. Subscribe for more tutorials and
