The uh 20, 20, 25, nope. Okay. If you're like me, I actually have a major appreciation for
feelings and, no not feelings. Here I am, I'm like, I'm not a dumb blonde.
See, we don't litter. We take our things. We're responsible citizens. We got this.
Hey Jen, welcome to TFL. This is your first day, so I'm going to toss you in the deep end because
I'm going to give you a card review. Perfect. This is the new Honda Civic and to make it more fun,
I'm going to ask you to do a road trip review. Now we do have this thing at TFL when a new
employee starts, you get lunch. So I'm going to give you the chance to go get lunch, but I want
you to do a road trip review, so I want you to drive that Civic to Keystone. Beautiful. We can
do that. Yeah, and I've got somebody who's going to shoot this video. Mary, can you come in please?
Hello. What's going on Jen? How are you? Mary, Mary, meet Jen. Nice to meet you. Do you guys
like crepes? Yes. All right, well there's a great crepe shop in Keystone, so I think that's a really
great destination for a road trip review, but I do have one criteria. You know what that is? Tell me.
Have fun. Easy. I think we do that. Yeah. Let's get some crepes. Don't forget, review the car. Oh yeah.
Cool. Head south on Sterling Circle. No, no, no, no, no. In 500 feet, turn right to stay on. Nope.
So we're going to Keystone, which is quite a trick. I can't help but notice.
You know what I got for lunch on my first day? Like some dumplings. I didn't get to go to
Keystone for crepes. Stop it. Don't say that. And I'm like, I'm sensing some favoritism.
So we, that was a 20 minute delay on I-70? All right. Sick. Let's go. I am digging these knobs
for adjusting the vents. It's so much better to not just, on a screen nonetheless, so annoying
to like actually have knobs like this. Dig. Dig big time. Yeah, I've never seen them.
Seriously, they jut out. Yeah, very like airplane. Very airplane. Yeah. I've been watching TFL for years,
so when I saw the first video that they got the Cybertruck, I was like, I know he's going to bring
it in. I know he's going to bring it in. Sure enough, I saw him on the appointment books. I,
you know, talked to him the next day. Didn't like fangirl or anything. I was just trying to talk
to him like another customer, like another person. And then he ended up bringing up his channel. And
I was like, Roman, I've been watching you for years. I know who you are. And then he just,
you know, we got to talking and it was very natural and he thought I was like a gearhead
and passionate about cars and gave me his business card. He's like, well, if you ever don't want to
work here, we'd love to have you. Shut up, dude. And I took like a month to just mull it over
because I'm like, that doesn't seem like I'm supposed to have a job that I hate and that,
you know, just takes my soul out of me. Like that's what I'm supposed to do.
Something I love about these Civics is they've always been known to be cost efficient and
cheap and reliable. That is what you want. And they're continuing to be that this day.
I mean, this is fully loaded. You've got all the bells and whistles and it's going to run you,
I wouldn't say super cheap, but compared to everything else these days, it's going to run
you $32,845. That's not bad when you compare it to any other vehicles that are out there
right now. They're, I mean, average vehicle price is like 40 plus. So for this fully loaded
out the door, $32,845, that's not bad. What is this gray called? I feel like our
this color originally stemmed from Audi's Nardo gray. Nardo? Nardo. N-A-R-D-O. And then it just
everything. Everything. It's like classy. It's not black at all. I just want to like,
I want to know like the board or whoever is in there and they're like, they like put the color
up on screen and they're like, I got it. I got it. But it's not, but it's not crystal gray. Maybe
everybody goes like, uh-huh. Um, best. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure.
It's like the, it's the CEO's son. Yeah. You can't say no. Colors are not that hard. Don't
call gray cars black. How about that? Oh my God. Yeah. I mean, just call things like they are.
We need to be on these boards. You and me, Jen. That's what's next for us. Okay. How do you get
that job? Like who? I genuinely want to know who comes up with the names. You know what? I just,
I, I don't understand. I think this car honestly would be perfect for a young driver because you
want them to be in something that's safe, you know? Um, but the nice thing is it doesn't have
all the pep. So it's not going to be a super fast car that your kids are going to be racing around.
And it's going to be safe. Plus it's that hybrid. The fuel economy is incredible. I think this would
be great for, for young first time drivers or just a commuter car, to be honest, especially for
fuel economy. The first time I really came online to cars was in my uncle's 84, his little C5 Corvette.
Yeah. And he chopped off the exhaust and was running open headers. And I remember stepping
out of the passenger seat and just feeling the exhaust hit my ankles. And I was just like,
what is this? Like, this is, this is exciting. And like, I think from there, I think it was only
like five or six. And from there I just like came online to cars. And like my first loves were all
muscle cars and always went to like these auto museums and just like so many buildings of muscle
cars and just like getting lost in them. My room was covered in like car pictures and everything.
This is my dream. Getting crepes on Thursdays. Oh my god. I also did tell Roman I would get him
a strawberry crepe. A Nutella? Yes, thank you.
Oh, is it? When? I don't think I saw it. Miles ago. Oh my god, I didn't see you take
one sip out of this. That girl be empty. I love it how Evergreen's done that. They're Evergreen.
Whoever named that tree did it right. That is Evergreen. It was definitely not a tippy. It was
not a callback. We call it again.
This is Keystone. Beautiful. Super smooth ride. Jen's a great driver. We've been instructed to
get crepes. We've also been instructed to get Roman a crepe. Oh, he's got to get that Nutella
strawberry. Got to happen. So that's where we're going and we're going to see if we can find it.
Jen and I matched today. Kind of. I mean, we just met today. Doesn't feel like it.
No. Our mantra of the day is not a bad Thursday. Not a bad Thursday at all.
So it's closed. It's fully closed. Looking like it's getting some work done.
Or like... What do we do? It's Keystone. There's got to be something. We could go to the...
It's a tavern. Do you want to go to a tavern? Let's see if there's another crepe place here.
We could go to the crepe cart 18 minutes from here. We came here for crepes. We came here for
crepes. We're not leaving this part of town. We're very intelligent.
You do have beautiful hair. We're gonna go find a new crepe place. Crepe a la cart.
That's what it's called. This car is so comfortable. I was not expecting... I guess
Civic has come a long, long way, but this ride was very seamless, especially with the lane keep
assist. It wasn't choppy or anything like that. It was just... I feel like I've been driving this car
for years. It just seems very comfortable to drive. The suspension is really nice. Nothing
bad to say so far with it. How many Civics have you driven in your life? Three. Like a 98 hatch
manual, which was awesome. So much fun. Not exactly the same experience in the Civic,
for sure. This definitely feels a lot more luxurious, if you will. It feels luxurious
as a passenger. Yeah, it's a fan. Especially coming from a world where everything is going
to touchscreens, I'm a big fan that there are actual buttons. And this click. This click is
very, very satisfying. Big fan of how everything feels and that there are actual buttons on
everything. I'm so tired of just like touchscreen for everything. You're trying to drive and find
something and you're bumping all over the place. Not great. Touchscreens are great, but
integrate buttons with it, you know? It's a world big enough to where both can exist, I would think.
Hello? Hey, Roman. So... You guys stuck in traffic or did you get through it? No, we got through the
traffic. Traffic was great. However, the crepe stand is under construction and therefore completely
closed. So we're going to a different crepe stand and we were just wondering if you still wanted
your Nutella strawberry if they have it at the second location. Yeah, yeah. Where's the other one?
Breckenridge. It's like 20 minutes from here. Yeah, it's not bad. Yeah, it's open. Go for it.
You got it. Get those crepes. All right, sounds good. Okay, bye. Bye. We found the crepe cart.
Crepe a la carte. We got crepes. So let's check out the Honda Civic. This is the hybrid sport
touring version, and honestly, I dig it. It's pretty awesome. This color is gorgeous. They call
it the crystal black. Don't see black in there, but you know, nonetheless, it is a gorgeous color.
Honestly, I think it looks pretty great. We've got Conti Pro Contact RXs, which are a pretty great
all-season tire. Something to keep in mind, even though it says all-season, it's not going to work
well in all of the seasons. These are not triple peak rated, so if you plan on running these through
deep snow, you might want to think about actually a winter tire, but nonetheless, a great all-season
tire to have on here. So the look in general, I think, looks pretty great. You know, this
wider grille has kind of an aggressive feel to it, but without being too much. I dig these black
mirror skull caps. Gives it kind of a sportier function, but this being the sport touring,
that is something that you're kind of looking for. Exterior, not a whole lot to look at,
but let's check out the interior. So first thing, guys, you're going to notice this actually has
buttons along with the touchscreen. You're going to notice it has this really nice click sound,
which I have a major appreciation for. It feels great, and not to mention like this material
around here is really nice, but there is also a touchscreen. You got maps, you got phone. The
nice thing is you have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is huge. So the nice thing about this
is I notice the screen is pretty intuitive. Sometimes they can be too big and overwhelming,
but driving here to Breckenridge, we had to, you know, cut to a couple different places and
everything was actually pretty intuitive. You got some great click noises on here as well, which
again, like the buttons, big fan of. I will say I like the buttons. Everything's on here. It's
actual like clickies. You'll notice it's got some piano black everywhere, which I'm not a huge fan
of. I feel like it just kind of attracts all of the dust, but you know, that's what we're working
with today. It does have this different material here in the center, which I'm a huge fan of.
It's not just the same piano black everywhere, which shows all the dust marks, your fingerprints,
any, you know, anything that, that collects. Yeah, it's sticking right there. Big fan of these.
These little adjusters for your cup holders, just to make sure if you've got something small in
there, it'll actually stick. And it's not like super tough, you know, to get into. It actually
moves pretty nicely, which I'm a fan of. Got your charging pad for your phone. Huge fan of that.
You got a couple of USB-C ports and your 12 volt as well. But I mean, for the most part,
pretty cut and dry. You'll notice we also have a shifter. Nothing fancy to report with that.
All right, so in the second row of the Civic, and I've got the seat all the way back, and
I'm 5'7", so I'm not too tall, not too short, but still have decent leg room back here. Like this is
a, this is actually pretty comfortable. You got your cup holders. Not bad. I mean, this is a decent
amount of leg room if, if you have to sit back here and you're decently tall. I do have a few
inches of head height. I mean, you do see they kind of carve it out up here. Not bad. Nothing crazy, but
I mean, not mad about it either. Got the trunk here, which not too small. Like this is a pretty
decent size. And under here, you'll see that some tools here, you got space for a spare, but no
spare. So just keep that in mind. But it is there and it doesn't take up your cargo space, which is
You can also drop both of your back seats from this lever. Pull them right down. There you go.
We have a two liter engine. Not the quickest giddy up and go, which we noticed coming out here,
but it does get the job done. If you are looking to have a very fast car, this probably won't be
the vessel for you. But like I said, still gets the job done on the way up. It told us that our
average fuel economy was 51.7 miles per gallon, which is insane. Like this is, this is rated for
49. I did not think we were going to get that, but I want to see, I want to see exactly what it is
going back home. Well, it's very smooth ride. This has been such a comfortable ride all the way out
here. Um, I would say it's definitely a lot more comfortable than previous cars. I've owned this
engine. She, she trying, she sounds, she sounds tired. I would think, I don't know if y'all can
hear that. It's still a great car. I'm super impressed with everything. Even the lane keep
assist, uh, the adaptive cruise, which to me is the most important form of cruise control,
not being able or being able to actually stay with traffic while having to reset.
It's been such a comfortable ride up here. Not, not a whole lot to complain about.
Maybe the pep. I could use a little more pep, but I do like fast cars.
We just got back to Boulder and roughly 85 miles later, average fuel economy was 70.6
miles per gallon, which is pretty incredible. That's awesome. Good stuff. Good stuff. All right.
Thanks Gloria. She did a good job. We named her Gloria. Overall, really great car. Really great
day. Honestly, we had a good time. So what a Thursday. Really, really fun. Two thumbs up.
Here's to crepes. Crepes acquired. We got, we got crepes. Crepes for you or a crepe. Yeah. Roman
requested a crepe. However, this is not from Keystone because all the other places were closed.
It's called Holy Crepe. Andre, you want some crepe? Let's share it with the team. You guys
went all this way to get a crepe. We got to share. You brought crepe and chocolate? Yeah,
I think it's Nutella. Nutella. Wow. Well, thank you very much. Success.
