The Joint Counter-UAS Academy offers three courses right now,
which is the Operator's Course, the Planner's Course, and the ICPC, which is Installation Protection.
What you're seeing behind you is Operators for the Operator's Course,
currently training on the Smart Shooter Optic for the M4.
The Operator's Course, we get our typical lower enlisted and junior officers who are
basically learning how to use the actual equipment.
We start with the Common Core, which is all the basic information that service members will use
when they go downrange. We shoot at the balloons here, it's a process. Once the student gets
towards the end of the training, we'll put up the aircraft and let them shoot at the aircraft.
Believe it or not, the balloons are harder to shoot than the drone.
