no
no
no and now it's time for grammar so
today we will learn a very important
part of Japanese grammar and it's te
form so first of all we should know what
do we use te form for so it is used for
many types of different expressions for
example when we are making requests or
we are asking for permission or we are
giving permission or when we have two
different actions in the same sentence
or when we sayate that something is
forbidden in all of these cases we need
to use the te form of the verb so we
need to conjugate the verb into te
form so let's take a look first of all
at an example of making a request so in
English when we want to say please look
we just need to add please to verb look
and then we have our request but in
Japanese it doesn't work that way so
let's say we have our
verb to look to watch if we want to make
a request we need to turn it into T form
so it will
become and then we need to
add please
please look would
be but we cannot do it with we cannot
say it wouldn't make any sense so we
always need to put the verb into T form
if we are making
requests so let's take a look at the r
verbs so we
have to
eat to sleep
and to get up to wake up if we want to
make te form what do we need to do is to
take away R from the base form of these
verbs so if we
have if we
have for r verbs and to what's left so
to to to we need just to add T and we
will have our T form
let's take a look so from Tabu we take
away what we have left is t t are verb
stem to we need to add and then we
have this is our te form of the verb to
eat from it turns into
T very good another example n to sleep
so from n we take away and we have left
and to the stem we need to add and then
we
have this is our te
form and our last one ok to wake up to
get up after we take away R we have OK
left and to Oki we add so we
have
perfect now for U verbs it's a bit
different so let's take a look at U
verbs that end
so to buy mat mat to wait
and to return so it ends in R but it's U
verb
okay so let's take a look at how we
would conjugate them so what we would do
we would take away their ending so we
would take away ver ver ver okay so we
would have only the stem left so we have
left after we take and to C we need to
add small with so then it will sound
like
this because small will make the
consonant sound like double okay
K and this too when you're writing is
very important because if you wouldn't
write it it would be a
mistake same goes for matu when we take
away we we have ma left and we need to
add with small and same goes
with very good for U verbs that end
in
and
like to
drink to to fly sh sh to
die we need take away Mo so we have no
left right no and then we need to
add so our T form of the verb to drink n
would be
n now for to to to fly we take away so
we have to left and to to we need to
add so we have
so is form of the verb to fly
to and the last one to die sh sh we take
out new we have she left she and then we
add and Sh would be form of verb
Shin very good now for U verbs bed end
in c c so like
Kik Kik to listen or kak kak to
write so from K to listen we need to
take away so we have only key left K and
to K we need to
add so our form to listen would
be so we have key here and one more e
here so it's prolonged
very good for kak to write we take we
have left and to we
add so our T form would
be
nice now there are also U verbs that end
in like
o or to swim so for o we would take away
and we would have oo left and to Oo we
would
add so would be our form of oog oog
swim and there is O verb with an
exception so the exception
is to go so this verb is U verb that
ends in C however it doesn't have a
typical te form ending so usually when
we have we
add but
here we need to add small two
with and then we will
have so this is our exception that we
need to remember because we will use
this verb to go very often so will
become
now there are U verbs that end in Su
like
o OS to push or
hanasu hanasu to
speak so if from U we take away Su we
only have o left and to O we need to
add so
so will change into and this will be our
form for hanas to speak we have Hana
left after we take away Su and to Hana
we add
sh so we
have to
speak and lastly are two irregular verbs
Sur to do and Kur to come so you just
need to memorize this one because there
are no rules so for form it will change
into and to come will change
into
so very
good now let's practice so you can see
verb on your screen and I want you to
turn it into T form I will give you five
seconds for each verb are you ready okay
so please turn this verb Mir into T
form it will
be because it's r
verb okay our next verb is
again because it's r
verb very good because it ends in U it's
U verb that ends in U so we add small
and
mat
mat
m m very good because it's also U verb
that ends in so we need to
add our next verb
is so what would be the T form for a
changes
into very good our next verb is
hanas to speak to
talk so s changes into
[Music]
good changes
into our exception do you
remember so although it's verb it ends
in C we write it like this with small
two
very
good to cook to make food so s is our
irregular verb how would we change
it the come another irregular verb
very good now let's review our
vocabulary for today's class
