🔰Ilhan Omar Calls Out AOC For Sacrificing Palestinians To Further Her Career
You know, we've said time and again that there are not a lot of good people in politics.
Some of them are out there. And one of them is Ilhan Omar. As I have stated before on this show,
I don't agree with all of her decisions in terms of her political moves. But I know that she is
somebody who deeply cares about this country, despite the fact that everyone wants to paint
her in the most grotesque ways possible. And it isn't just coming from the radical conservative
side of politics. It is very much in play with the liberal elites.
Honestly, way more so. Other than the real bigots on the right that are just very bigoted,
she definitely gets more grief and aggravation from the centrists and the libs.
A lot of times it is not considered a necessary political maneuver. And even somebody like Thomas
Massey, you know, you're not really going to see him. I mean, yeah, he will go at Trump when Trump
obviously is going at him. But you're never generally going to see the actual calling out
of your fellow colleagues when they do something that is just completely egregious and frankly,
is done against their own people. And it's somewhat, you know, fortuitous, if you will,
but it is Rashida Tlaib's birthday today. And I'm sure that she wishes for nothing more than
for her people to be free. Now, of course, we know that AOC doesn't think the same way
that are supposedly her fellow squad members do deciding that her career is more.
Can we stop using that term? Can we finally stop using that term? It was stupid then. It
makes less sense now. It's just it's not a thing. There's no squad. There's no squad.
And if there were one AOC sure ---- ain't on it. So so it can we just stop with that? It's so silly.
Colin, could you please pull up the tweet that I sent you from Milhoan?
And I think that this this clip is very telling because what Ilhan points out here and I'm gonna
play it for you guys is she is highlighting the fact that there is now a massive protest.
Or should I say protests that are going on on the regular in Tel Aviv. And here it is.
I have mixed thoughts. So on the one hand, obviously, it pleases me to see people in
Izzy hell, you know, protesting on behalf of the Palestinians. But it's a lot too late. Right.
It's a lot too late. I also and again, I want anything that works is good, right? Like I want
whatever helps facilitate ending people dying is good. Let me be very clear about that. But
I don't think that this is the kind of thing wherein we watch this and think that, OK,
Israel and its people can be salvaged. They can't. This is an outlying situation in terms of
what we know about the mindset of the majority of Israelis. We know that more than 80 something
percent of them are on on board with ethnic cleansing in one degree or another. So, you know,
these kinds of protests make me you know, yes, it's nice to see it, but I don't want us to get
distracted and think that, OK, so that gives these guys who are protesting a pass in terms of their
complicity and participation in Holocaust. It doesn't. So while it is nice to see that
this is by no means an indicator that Israel can be salvaged in terms of coexisting on planet Earth
with the rest of us. This is about as close to a direct call out as you are going to hear from one
fellow party member to another, especially two that have been as closely associated as they have
for the past six years. The genocide of the Palestinian people, of the people of Gaza
continues as members of Congress vote to fund Israel's defensive and offensive military
capabilities. This is immoral and no amount of excuses will ever make it OK. And that's the truth.
The fact that Alex cannot stand on her position without trying to condition Alex doesn't have
a position. That's the whole problem with Alex. No position. She takes no position.
She's she's like a jellyfish. This has always been Colin.
Could you just could you just pull up that photo that I sent you earlier?
If you could, I'd really appreciate it. That's so gross.
Well, yeah, we don't need to show that one again. The one of Jen.
This is a picture of me. Yeah. Which picture of me?
We'll see. Oh, the one of me and Ilhan? Maybe.
OK. I love that picture. And the way that the light is in that picture.
And I do know it is the glare of the ceiling light. I do know that this wasn't like when I
saw Dolly. And I know for a fact that Dolly does glow. This isn't like that. This it was
light, but it looks like Ilhan radiates. Yeah, well, you said that she's like this
little ninja, if you will. I called her I. I called her a Jedi Muslim princess.
She does have a little bit of a Princess Leia thing going on.
Oh, totally, totally. Because also just the way she came into the room, she's very
she she's very unassuming and she's very graceful and she's soft spoken until she's not. And then.
Oh, and then it's still soft spoken, but very fierce. But now she's the way she even just
walks around the way she carries herself. She's very, very stealth in her movement.
She doesn't draw attention to herself. She's just she's she's really awesome.
Can you just remind people of that nice little story when you two were at that event and she
kind of came up to you? Yeah, she was really sweet. So I was allowed she had us at we were
at a fundraiser for her that they the Muslim community down here put together for her and
she was in town. And so we were there and she was asked if it would be OK with her if I spoke.
And I honestly, I was either way, it was fine with me, but she was very gracious and she's like,
of course, you know, and that is such a big deal. People that you guys have no idea how big of a
deal that is for somebody in her position to allow me to speak at an event that's for her.
Right. Like this is not the kind of industry where people gladly share spotlights. It's just
not like that. It's so there was that. And I was just so thankful for that. And I don't even really
remember what I said, because, you know, I don't ever prepare anything. I just sort of like speak.
But at one point I was waiting in the this was at it was an Iftar, right? Yes, because they went
and prayed. Yeah, I think so. It was an Iftar because they went over and prayed. So the this
is the one thing I'm going to tell people that are non-Muslim people at an Iftar. And it's kind of
like it's not a secret, but if you're not a Muslim and you're at the Iftar when they go pray,
you can eat. And I know it sounds kind of like sneaky to get into the buffet line first because
they're off praying and doing they're doing. And you're kind of just slipping into the buffet
buffet line before they get back. But it is a common thing and they don't mind it. I'm just
saying. So I was in the buffet line at the dinner and a lot of the people were coming back in from
prayer and she was just walking by, but I didn't even see her. And she tapped me on the shoulder
and just gave me a really big hug. And she was just she's lovely. Yeah, she's one of the special
ones, you know, much as as we've pointed out, you know, much like Thomas Massey in the GOP,
Ilhan is one of the very, very few bright lights in the Democratic Party. There's not many.
And the truth is, she's very bright. Make no mistake. Right. Like I've met different legislators.
We've seen different people. And we know that you do not have to be bright to be a legislator. We
know that there are so many of them both in the House and Senate that are morons. It's just clear.
And she is just so bright. And I knew that before I met her because I actually had read her
autobiography, which I highly recommend, by the way, it's quite good. And if you do the audiobook,
she does her own narration. So it's really kind of cool. But I knew how bright she was just from
that a while ago. But yeah, she's exceptionally bright. She reads her stuff. She reads the
legislation. She actually reads things before talking about them and signing her name to them.
Well, I actually was one of the few people that got to ask her a question at this event. And the
question I decided to ask her was that despite all of the hell that she goes through, and she
gets quite a few death threats on the regular. Oh, yes. She I don't know if it's consistent across
every single congressional session every two years. But within the last five years,
she was the fourth most effective legislator in Congress in terms of getting whether it's
bills passed, amendments passed. Because remember, there's a lot of bills that get passed,
but you don't hear about them. You know, they're not front page material.
And she's also very much like how Bernie has always worked, where she gets things in bills,
and she gets things done for her people that aren't necessarily big news, mainstream pieces
of legislation. But nonetheless, when you look it up, she's been very successful as a legislator.
Yes. And that was one of the questions that I asked her. I said, despite all that you go through
on a daily basis, what do you attribute your ability to be one of the most effective legislators
in all of Congress? And she said, I read the bills. I do the work.
That's what she does. And she does do the work. Also, she does. She writes her own stuff,
a lot of it, too. She's very yeah. So she's very informed. She doesn't just show up and
push a button that someone tells her what to push. I have always felt her in particular.
She is the person that more than any of the any of the group, more than anybody else.
This is the person that deep down AOC is jealous of because she knows that she isn't her.
She's the real deal. She is. And she comes she and guys, again, if you ever have the opportunity to
read or listen to her autobiography. Once I read that now, any time when people say crap about her
or think they're going to intimidate her or threaten her, talk about her, I think in my head
to the stuff that I've heard that her life story and I'm thinking they have no idea who they're
dealing with. They have no idea who they're like. She is not going to be threatened and intimidated
by politicos or other people that are in her line of work like she's she's fierce.
