SO MUCH NEW DRUGSTORE MAKEUP! FIRST IMPRESSIONS W/PURPLE TONES | Stephanie Ledda

Hey guys, so like the title says, I'm going to be trying out a bunch of new drugstore makeup for first impressions and just kind of get ready with you guys and see some new stuff in action. So I don't have the new Tarte Shape Tape or anything like that yet and I'm not sure if I'm going to do a video on that once I do get it because I feel like it's super controversial so I don't know. So I decided, you know what, I'm just going to do drugstore stuff because there's a lot of stuff that I have that I want to try out. So first, I haven't moisturized or primed my face or anything like that because I wanted to try this new product. This is from Pixi. This is their Rose Flash Balm and this is supposed to be a 3-in-1 moisturizer, primer and mask. So you can use it like as a thin layer as just like a moisturizer or primer before your makeup it says or you can like do like a thick layer and have it as a mask. So it just comes out white and I don't know, it says you can use AM or PM so I'm going to use this and we'll see how it goes. My skin has been so dry lately. I feel like it doesn't look that dry and then as soon as I put any makeup on it's like I am like a walking raisin. Like it's not cute. My skin definitely feels hydrated and nice and plump but not like super shiny. Oh no. Uh oh. Do you guys see this? It is like literally peeling off my face. Oh my god. Isn't that the worst when you put a product on and it like just peels all of your face? Okay, so first impression of that was not great so now I need to take that off. So I'm just going to spray my face with my Smashbox priming water because I don't have any other new primers to try. So anyways, foundation. I've been wanting to try this one. A lot of people have been hyping it up and I just found it in stores near me. They didn't like send it to me or anything. So this is the Maybelline Superstay Foundation. I got it in 310 Sun Beige which might be a little bit dark for me. I have no self tan around right now. Last night I just scrubbed it all off and it actually felt amazing. So yeah, so I'm going to try this out and see how it goes. As most of you guys know, I love my Maybelline Dream Cushion so I'm hoping that I like this. So I'm going to go ahead and apply this with my Tarte brush that I use for every other foundation. If it doesn't work with this brush then I don't use it because this brush is everything to me. So I'm just going to take a few pumps and we're going to see how it goes. Okay, so I think the match is going to be okay as long as it doesn't oxidize too much. Buttery! Butter alert! Wow. This actually applies just like that NARS one, the NARS Radiant Longwear one, which I wanted to love but just did not work for my skin type. So this has a similar effect though, it goes on so buttery smooth and I guess it is a little bit dark but we will make it work. Just don't look at my hands. So the coverage is definitely really good and I'm definitely not hating the finish. Usually I don't like more of a matte foundation but this actually looks really good. Wow. I'm impressed. So the next is this new concealer from Rimmel. It's the Lasting Finish 25 hour, not 24 hours, but 25 hour, breathable, lightweight, medium coverage concealer. So it's supposed to be a long lasting, breathable concealer with medium coverage, helps to conceal imperfections. Cushion applicator allows for perfect blendability and touch ups on the go. So I got this in the shade light because it didn't really look that light in the tube but we will try it out and see. So it has like a little spongy applicator so okay, I guess we'll just, oh okay, we will just apply this. Okay. I don't think I love the applicator, I feel like it's just kind of tugging on my skin but let's see. Oh my god, it's so hard to control like how much is coming out but alright, I'm just going to use this all up in the spots. I definitely don't love the applicator but maybe it will make up for it. Okay. Okay, so as I'm blending it out I feel like it's kind of disappearing a little bit, let's see. Um, I think it's decent, I don't think it's like the best concealer ever, I think I will need to apply a little bit more because I didn't use a corrector or anything but it's not looking cakey so that's good. So I'm just going to add a little bit more right to here, I just really don't like this applicator, it's just like weird. So it looks like really good on the skin, I don't feel like it's very light, like this is the shade light and I only saw fair and I don't feel like it's really that light for light, I feel like that looks like kind of like a medium tone concealer but I don't know, we'll see. So I then have a new setting powder to try, this is the Flower Beauty Miracle Glow Satin Finishing Powder, so they had a matte one but I just wanted to try the satin finish because it just sounded intriguing. So you just pull it up and it comes in like a little thing like this, so since it says Miracle Glow I am assuming that it's going to have a little bit of a luminous finish, which I'm about a luminous finish, especially since this Superstay is more on the matte side I definitely wanted to try a not so super matte powder to set it. It's a little shimmery so maybe don't use it to set your under eye but maybe for the rest of the face it would be okay. It's not like straight up glittery but if you look closely you can definitely see the shimmer, I don't know if you guys will be able to see it. So then I'm going to move on to the eyes, I wanted to try out this new palette from Maybelline, this is the Total Temptation Shadow and Highlight Palette, so it looks like this, they have some purpley tones and some kind of like peachy neutral tones, so I actually kind of want to go with the purpley tones, so I don't know, we'll see, we're going to mix a few shades and we'll see what we come up with but I'm going to start with this color right here and I'm going to use that kind of like as my crease color I think and we'll see how this palette goes. Okay, so that's like a nice warm brown, it's a little bit warmer than I was anticipating so then I'm going to go in with the brown underneath because it's a little bit more cool toned and I think I want more of a cool toned look I guess. It's actually blending really nicely. Then I'm going to go on with this mauve-y shade, just going to add that in the crease next. Believe it or not, I've really been into cooler tones lately and I'm just putting those on the lower lash line as well, those same crease colors. So I'm going to take a little bit of this black I think it is, it looks like a really really charcoal-y gray or a black and I'm going to put this on the outer portion. I feel like drugstore eyeshadows are just like the one thing that isn't like all there for me yet. Like pretty much I can use like mostly all drugstore products on my face but the eyeshadows I feel like are always like the toughest because they're like either too chalky or like not pigmented. But these are actually pretty good, I'm impressed. I think I actually am going to use this color right here for the lid. I think this is supposed to be like a highlight for like the cheeks but it's really pretty and I just want to use it on the lid. So we'll see how it goes and see how it looks. Okay. I'm not going to lie. I was expecting it to be really chunky and crappy but it's not bad. Not bad at all. It actually looks really pretty. I'm really not big into like purple-y tones usually but I just wanted to try it out. I think those are definitely some pretty good shadows, especially for a drugstore. Next I have a new mascara that I've been dying to try. I just saw this in the stores and I've been reading good things about this. So this is the new Voluminous Superstar X Fiber Mascara. So it has a primer and a mascara. You guys know if you've been watching my videos lately that I've been into lash primers. So I want to show you guys next to the other L'Oreal like two-sided mascara. This one is like so much bigger. If you can see it, like this thing, like I don't know, this is like a magic wand. Harry Potter ----, you know? So on here it says one and two. So I'm going to go with number one and here's the brush. So it's an interesting brush, kind of like a skinny fat brush or like fat skinny brush. It goes fat and then skinny and then fat again. So this is a tinted primer which I like. So this is just the primer. So if the other side is anything like the primer, I think it's going to be a hit. So the brush on the other side is a little bit different and I don't know if you can see, but this you can see the little fibers in there. So I was expecting the fibers to be on the other side. Hmm, this could be a new favorite because I love that it's attached so I don't have to like go searching for the other half. Like it's just together. So that's always nice. I don't know if you're seeing this, but these look really good. Like they almost look like a Demi Wispy Lash, like I don't know. I'm feeling it. So we'll see if it starts crumbling everywhere. I definitely made a mess though. My eyeshadow, but that's okay. That I always do. So then I'm going to move back to the face for bronzer. I don't have a new bronzer to try, so I'm just going to use a drugstore one that I have been liking lately. This is the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Powder. It's just a face powder in the shade Coco. So I just kind of mix it all in one and then I just go in and apply it. Okay so then for blush, I picked up this one from Tetris Cosmetics. This is their Illuminating Blush and the color is called I'm Nuts About You and this just looks like right up my alley. So that's why I picked it up. It's supposed to be blush with subtle shimmer and pearl effect for a radiant and defined complexion. So we will see if it gives me a radiant and defined complexion. Do I look radiant and defined? It's really pretty actually. The tones of it remind me a lot of one of my favorites, which is Benefit Dallas. So it's just like a tiny bit of shimmer in there. It's not like chunks of glitter. It definitely just looks like very luminous. I don't know if you can see, but it's not accentuating my pores or anything like that. So I do like it. I do, I do, I do. And then lastly for the cheekers, I've been wanting to try this. So you guys know that I love the Maybelline Master Chrome Molten Gold. So I had to pick up the rose gold one that they just came out with. So it looks like this. So it's definitely a little bit out of my comfort zone. I usually don't gravitate towards like any kind of color. I like more gold stuff, but this year we're trying new things. So let's try this out. If it's anything like Molten Gold though, I'm definitely going to be obsessed. Okay. So it's definitely really pretty. It doesn't look like straight up pink. I was worried about that. I definitely put a ton on, maybe too much, but it's really, really pretty. I'm just going to put a little bit of that highlighter on my inner corner too. All right. Now what do we want to do for lips? I don't know. So these are the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink. Oh, these are them. And I know that I like the formulation of these because I've tried other colors. So I don't know. Do we want to do the purple? I don't know. I could try it on for you guys, but who knows if it'll stay on. So let's line really quickly. Let's give it a try. It's definitely extreme, but let's try it. Purple people eater. I better like this color though because these things, they don't come off until they tell you they're coming off. Dude, who the F am I? All right. Let's do a little setting spray. I'm just going to use my favorite Urban Decay All Nighter because I know that I love that. And it matches the look. Okay. So here's the final look. And I don't even know what just happened, but I'm obsessed with this look. Who would have thought that I would do a full on cool toned look and be in love and use drugstore stuff and just look good? I don't even know what just happened. Did I just love everything that I just tried? Even that concealer, at first I didn't like it, but now that it's on my skin with everything, I feel like it just looks bomb. And this powder, Miracle Glow, I definitely feel like I look glowy, but not in a disco ball kind of way. The foundation, dude, I'm obsessed. I think I loved everything that I tried, to be honest with you. Oh, other than what was the first product? Where did you go? Oh, the only thing that I feel like backfired on me was this. One of the things I was most excited to try was the only thing that really didn't work for me. So anyways, I hope you guys like this look. I hope you guys liked seeing all the first impressions. First impressions, I'm obsessed with everything but this rose flash bomb. Sorry, rose. All right, so I just wanted to do a really quick check in for you guys. It's only been eight hours, but I don't really ever wear my makeup for more than eight hours, but I have to say that this is still going really strong. I could definitely keep wearing this. It definitely looks really, really good. The only thing I would notice is that, I don't know if you can see right here, some of that mascara has smudged a little bit. It's only really on this side, but it has smudged a little bit, so maybe that's not the greatest for bottom lashes. I did work out and I mean, I wasn't sweating profusely, but I was definitely working out. Everything still looks really good, so I would definitely recommend that foundation. So far, I mean, I'll see if it breaks me out or anything like that, but I don't usually have an issue with that, but I don't know, I think it looks really, really good.
