MotoGP™ Warm up Race Highlights | 2025 #japanesegp GP
It's not going to be a stroll to the title, is it, for Marc Marquez?
Because Pedro Acosta would love, love to take the shine off his big day, wouldn't he?
He loves nothing more than to sign out in style, so he'd want to win, without a doubt.
And Pedro Acosta, Pedro Acosta will make it difficult.
Joan Mir as well, good pace yesterday.
Especially Mir after getting roughed up yesterday.
That move that Marc made on him, it all felt a little bit fairer in love and war.
I have to say, he was smiling after it with Joan Mir, knowing what's at stake.
I don't know, I don't want to take the shine off of a day like today,
but I've got a feeling for Marc it's a win or bin situation.
As in, he hasn't looked the most comfortable all weekend.
His front end in particular has looked nervous early on, it did yesterday.
I feel like he'll have pace later on in the race, as he showed in the sprint yesterday.
But I feel he'll just be desperate to take it with a win.
And I don't think Alex Marquez has a chance at the podium.
No, it didn't look unusual for Alex not to be in a point scoring position in a sprint.
Lacking pace, obviously crashed on Friday.
Put him a little behind the eight ball and didn't recover for Saturday afternoon
the way we perhaps expected or anticipated.
I do think it's going to be one of those days where Marc,
it could be win or bin, it literally could,
because he'd want to sign out instead with a victory in front of all these Japanese fans.
Good turnout here, he's got so much support even from his Honda days
and they've continued to support him in Factory Ducati Red as well.
But yeah, I think it's going to be a good race today.
I've got that feeling that with Peko on his form,
the resurgence, the confidence, it's all back.
You can see it clearly in the emotion after his victory yesterday
and it's all beginning to make sense.
A lovely helmet design, that's a really cool little design that he's got.
He did the double here last year and a double here today,
which just spoiled Marc's party ever so slightly.
Oh, talking about parties being spoiled,
Jorge Martins returned to action.
Unfortunately, another injury for him.
The man has bones made out of biscuits.
He's fragile, unfortunately, four times already this season.
You know, we've seen it.
They are more prone to getting injured when they fall.
Marc's a slight error of judgment into Turn 1.
He immediately grabs his shoulder as he's sliding on his collarbone.
So yeah, that's going to be a very...
Jorge Martins, we apologise for the profanities.
He will be back, but he is heading back over those pictures, I'm afraid.
If Alex doesn't finish on the podium,
he's home to a ninth place, isn't there?
Just getting the championship boxed off.
He'd probably bring it home, but he's got to score him by seven points.
It seems back to front.
That's the easiest way top two he wins going on today.
We'll keep your breath hanging in the air, but it's not easy.
And in terms of conditions today, the sun has been cooler than it has been.
Yeah, the coolest conditions we've had.
Still, the sun is breaking through, but everyone's out and treated with care,
especially the first, the outlap, short warm-up.
But yeah, they're definitely taking a face mask on for him too.
The farmers over the weekend, some great support they show today.
Michael, you know, the gravel.
He gave it as good a go as I've seen.
He was a world champion.
Not getting the feeling or feedback from the bike.
The way he rode yesterday, the way he fought, he looked so good.
There's someone who'll be pleased the sun isn't.
What do you see happening today then in the race?
Fuel consumption are a different dynamic.
They have to stop Pecco on lap one.
He got a good run, I think, for Mark from the second row.
There's that moment again as he went up there early on in the weekend.
Is that Pedro Acosta still, even with that mistake, Marquez?
Pay a lot of respect, haven't you, to the front tyre here.
This weekend, when you go to angle and the front tucks under and there's not a lot you can do.
How much do you read into the fact that Mark is managing a healthy margin there?
He's done so this season.
It doesn't speak so.
It's always been his strong point.
He was immediately able to push from the outset.
Keep the challenge there from the outset.
Or if it's turn five.
Better in the medium rear tyre.
He's a little bit on the back foot going into this race today.
All the slow corners, opening the throttle.
He got a good today with 22.
So, essentially, they had another.
On the way into the turn, they run them leaners in the first touch of the throttle.
The lap times in the main race, it's just the riders, bikes, teams evolving throughout the week.
With everything.
And they will have to go sit out in the last laps.
Yes, and that's where yesterday, Pedro Car when they were heading to do their interviews.
Being one of KTM's weak points.
Ability to put their power to the ground.
Throttle the way the engine makes mechanical grip.
The way the lower.
Certainly not the riders are working to make it so.
Looks very stable.
Looks down.
But the front.
Use that.
To use that strength of the traction.
And he's looked a bit more attacking on the front.
Because the bandage over Aldegar.
Yeah, he is.
He's sacrificing.
Who's the favourite for the race?
Here last year.
Loved this track.
Is one of the.
Takanakagami.
Taka road to 14.
Medium tyre actually.
For Mark Marcus.
Qualifying maybe as fewer laps.
To the allocation of how the weather's been.
But usually.
Around from where he is.
I think.
You know.
He usually has been strong.
Need to find something.
Looks a little better.
Mark Marcus in this morning session.
Yeah.
But it has been a tough weekend.
Struggled in the.
Making him struggle a little bit in that area.
Looking from the onboard.
This is Mark.
We saw from Mark.
Fabio is still frustrated here.
This fair cleanly.
Is there a Yamaha boss here?
Jack Miller alongside.
The idea that.
So Mark Marcus.
Can over.
Fermin Aldeguer.
In 6th place.
But nothing to be.
Will.
Mark Marcus.
Get to add.
As you do.
Sorry.
The speed sheets.
318.
Not exactly sure.
Where the speed trap is here.
This weekend.
But it does seem impressive.
From Honda.
Either.
Both riders.
That move fast.
Have that a couple of places.
Like the Calin.
It's around the 200 miles per hour.
Yeah.
I think about the idea and say.
I'm going to be fine.
But we said that before.
Yeah.
A few spots.
But you never know.
You never know.
Expect it.
But yeah.
You never know.
Up in the hills.
Marquez.
Said he.
He.
He recognized it more.
The money.
Yeah.
Certainly feels like.
He's had to earn this one.
Missionly.
The.
The fact that.
When he finally clinches it.
If that is today.
Defy the advice.
And go with a nine.
Goes with a nine.
Having done the eight ball.
Back in.
But we will find out.
Perhaps.
Later in the day.
So that's our warm up.
Done with.
We are building up.
We come back.
CZ is going to be in the paddock.
With.
No.
