It was hard to tell where the oil was even going, but the Turbo was the problem. Watch this if you have a similar problem on your Chevrolet Truck.
Okay, y'all. We're working on this truck
today.
Low mileage truck. It's got
It's got uh 60,000 mi on it. It's got
the diesel in it. Let's fire it up.
Okay. It's got the uh It's got the power
stroke 6.7. That's 350.
This thing is ranking.
Ranky boy. We got to figure out why. I
mean, it's just drinking.
I mean, like
like maybe gallon a mile drinking oil.
We got to figure out what it's doing.
I'm going to pull this cap right here.
Push the oil cap.
Hear that?
That thing's building all kinds of
pressure.
There's no there's no pressure. It's
building all kinds of pressure.
So, uh, is it the turbo?
Is it the turbo? Is it the the air
filter?
This is a new one, too. This is a 67.
It's going to be a 17 model, but it is
just a drinking oil. Crazy right now.
That cap off.
Cap back on.
Cap back on
a few minutes here.
Can see it. Listen close and I'll go
take that cap off. See if you can hear
it. Here we go. Ready?
Got
to figure out what that is. What is
doing it? Why is it doing
turbo? Turbo blowing blowing oil back.
Maybe that's it.
Maybe. I don't know. We'll have to find
out. Stick with us. Give us a thumbs up
filming it. And uh we're going to see if
we can't find out what's going on here.
Okay, guys.
This damn thing here,
the V um
CCV
crankase ventilation.
Okay, that
thing stopped up. I I guess these things
are stopped up. They're ballooned out.
That would probably be an indication. I
probably hit that. They're ballooned out
on the sides. That thing goes back in
there.
Okay,
this box
here,
I had to take this box out. I didn't
have to, but I did cuz I wanted to get
more. See exactly what was going on. I
got to clean this up. And then I got a
new one. Right there is the new one that
goes in there. It just slips off down in
there and you're done. Um, and you got
top there that goes on it. And then
bolts go back in the top and bolt it
back down and it should be good to go.
I'm going to spray it out real good with
some carb cleaner. Try to get it nice
and clean and then uh we'll go back
together with it and see if that's the
cause. The thing goes back there. You
got to pull your fuel filter out. But it
ain't no problem in this truck. It's all
done by hand. There's a bolt hole there.
Thing sits like that. There's a bolt
hole there. Two bolt holes back there
and a bolt hole there.
It's pretty easy to get to. And there's
a couple of O-rings in there. But just
make sure you got oil on them O-rings
when you go back together. And uh wham,
bam. Thank you, ma'am. It's done. Let me
uh let me get to cleaning on it. And
then uh I'll put it back together. I'll
let you guys see it when I get it back
together here.
Okay, y'all. There's one bolt hole
there. There one bolt hole there. And
there's two bolt holes back there in
that one. That's it. Four bolt. They're
all 10 millimeters on this particular
truck. This is going to be a 20 late
2016, early 2017 truck by the
manufacturer date.
Um, so that's what we're looking at. I
did take the fuel filter out. Fuel
filter goes there. It's just a cap that
goes in there. The only reason I took it
out was to get these fuel lines out of
the way.
Move these fuel lines down.
Other than that, it's easy.
Just stick your hand back there and get
these two started. Them two back there
started. Once you get those started, I
used an extension
um with a swivel and come way up here
with my impact wrench. Put them in. Put
that one in there with my impact wrench
and put that one in with my impact
wrench. Took me five minutes once I
figured out where the lines was. You got
to jerk it pretty good to get this
unseated out of there. Had to pull up on
it pretty good. So, I'm going to have to
wiggle it back down in there, get it
set.
These back tube got grommets in it, so
it won't overtighten. That one's got a
grommet, so it won't overtighten. That
one's got a grommet, so it won't
overtighten. So, it shouldn't be that
big of a deal. Um, getting it in place
is kind of a pain, but other than that,
it should slide right in. I slick some
oil around that, got it oiled up real
good. I'm going to try to push this
thing back in there and lock it back
down and see what I can do with it. I'll
let you know uh when I get it back in
there.
Okay, y'all. That thing's back in there.
Put the fuel filter back in it. Put the
clips back on it. This one goes there.
You just kind of pull and twist. Pull
and twist and that thing will pop off
and you're good. Get your four bolts
back in that and you're good. That fuel
filter really you just you squeeze on
these things and the damn lines just
come off. Push that one down. The lines
come off. Push pull that out. push these
down. Lines just slide right off. I
mean, in hell, it ain't nothing. You
don't need no tools or nothing. It just
comes right off. So, that's all easy. I
got to get all these tools cleaned up.
I'm standing on the toolbox here. Um,
then we'll fire this thing up. See if it
fixed it. Hope trying to get rid of
crank case, excessive crankase pressure.
So, we'll see here in a few minutes. Let
me uh let me get all these tools cleaned
up and get everything back in my toolbox
over there and we'll see what we can do
with it. Okay, y'all just hang tight.
All right, y'all. I got it running.
Y'all going to know what I know, I
guess.
[Applause]
Make sure
last time we did it, dude.
[Applause]
Give a little gas. Make sure we ain't
got a fluke thing going on.
[Music]
Okay,
we're back over here. Here it go. Go.
Fix it.
You got crazy external pressure.
That box back there. CCV valve. Crank.
Crank case ventilation valve.
Crank case ventilation valve. That's
what it is. So, fix this one.
Need that piece there. I bought it from
the local parts house. It was 150 bucks
um for the for the filter for that
filter there. 150 bucks. Right there is
the part number on it. Right there's the
part number on it. $150. It fixed it. It
was a extreme pain in the butt to
change. It wasn't that bad once I
figured it out. Once I figured out
there's only four bolts on it. This one
ain't bad at all. And this is a
Let me double check this. I ain't lying
to y'all.
