Who will run out victorious in this one?
Here we go then, when the lights go out, the Grand Prix of Italy is underway
and it's a good start this time from Marc Marquez, from Peco Bagnaia, alongside him.
Marquez has the inside line, down towards Sandonato.
Alex Marquez attacking, but it's going to be Marc.
How wide does he run? He doesn't look that comfortable,
but somehow brings it down to the white line on the inside and hits the apex perfectly.
Straight away, I think, up the inside, Bagnaia, straight away, listen to the crowd.
And Marc Marquez gives it a little bit of throttle in the middle there.
He's going to try and get the drive now, isn't he, towards the next corner.
He's going to be on the outside, though, as we head in.
Here he switches to the inside to try and block off his brother attacking.
That's exactly what we wanted to see, as Peco Bagnaia leads the Italian Grand Prix.
Just listen to the crowd as we come up and over and down through Casanova Cervelli.
Yeah, it's exactly what Bagnaia has to do.
The only way you're going to beat Marquez is try and ruffle him.
You've got to get in front, prevent the flaw state that Marc's so good at doing.
When they cross the line, it will be Peco Bagnaia leading
after the first lap of the Italian Grand Prix.
And Marc Marquez goes the long way around, on the outside, down towards Turn 1.
Peco at the inside, oh, and Marc just comes across him down into Turn 1
and reclaims the lead once more.
He runs wide, he's going to cover off a move up the hill into Luco.
Does Peco attack? No, not on this occasion.
Marc has reclaimed the lead of this race.
We're going to go three abreast here again, I'm almost certain of it,
as we head down towards Turn 1.
Peco Bagnaia picking up the slipstream.
Alex Marquez picking up the slipstream.
Bagnaia switches to the inside and gets ahead of Marc Marquez
down into Turn 1 and reclaims the lead once more.
He's a little out of shape.
Does he run wide? Yes, he does.
Marquez cuts to the inside.
Peco brave, he's got to hang on.
Oh, there's almost contact through there.
Marc tried to go tight into that corner there.
That was so, so tight for Bagnaia,
but somehow they both stay on board.
What a racetrack, though.
It just invites these moves of Marc straightaway up into Turn 4.
Contact, almost.
He's got to run wide.
They now will get the run on him.
Oh, there was contact through there.
We've seen it so many times in the past, haven't we?
On the change of direction, on those S's,
it almost invites it to happen and they both stay on, thankfully.
And he's got to try and go to the right.
He has done.
Brilliant for Bagnaia.
Levels.
And is he going to go for Marc?
I thought he was going to try and get a double move there.
He's going to run wide, Alex.
Thoughts about coming back.
Bagnaia is up for this one.
This is great to see.
Up the inside, of course, up the inside.
What a move.
Listen to the crowd once more.
Through Poggiosecco, Peco Bagnaia takes the lead again
and he's going to run down the inside line there
to try and stop any move.
Alex, is he going to have a go at Marc?
Not on this occasion.
Bagnaia stopped him from going to the inside there
on that occasion.
But Marc, it doesn't matter for him,
comes around the outside.
He's got to go wide though.
Really wide.
And Bagnaia will come through.
Will Alex be able to sneak through?
Oh, Marc Marcus switches back to the inside now.
This is racing as good as it gets.
Old school racing, squaring each other off.
And of course, it's the S's of Mugello that are doing it for us
as they seem to every single year.
Wide from Bagnaia.
His front was protesting through there.
They're going to be side by side across the line.
Marc will obviously ease, as he's right,
ease Peco up onto the outside there.
That was so, so tight.
And look at this.
Three of us down into Turn 1.
Peco Bagnaia takes the front once again.
And Alex Marcus around the outside,
surely can't get his stop there.
Peco will turn underneath.
Marc will also turn underneath.
It's a three-way battle.
And Alex now is in second place.
What a race.
Oh, Alex Marcus.
Oh, no.
He has done.
Oh, Alex Marcus through the second part of the S's there.
That was superb.
As we climb up the hill towards Turn 4,
it's now the Grassini Satellite,
last year's race-winning bike of Alex Marcus,
who is leading with Peco Bagnaia and Marc Marcus.
I thought the Moto3 race was good.
I mean, this is something else.
That move then from Alex Marcus,
stealing the line away from Bagnaia,
knowing full well Bagnaia is going to throw it in front of you.
And I'll tell you what,
Alex Marcus now is throwing the gauntlet down,
got a few corners clear,
and he's risking everything.
It looks like he's missed a corner,
but he's not.
It's a late apex, so he's going to fire it out.
Get as much corner speed, get in the slipstream.
Look at this.
He was so strong here yesterday in the sprint, wasn't he?
Coming through.
Look at him eating up the ground on Peco Bagnaia.
And the thing is, he's just got pace now.
And it doesn't matter almost that he's on the outside,
because look at the line he takes.
He must go wide, Marc.
He just takes that line away from Peco Bagnaia,
and he's up to second now.
Peco Bagnaia being left a little bit behind
as Maverick Vinales starts to lurk now
and come into this one.
He's been so quick all weekend.
Switches to the inside.
We know the KTM is fast.
The Ducati factory bike is fast too.
It passes Alex Marcus,
and Marc takes over at the front once more.
Behind.
Did Maverick get through on Frankie Morbidelli?
We'll see in a moment.
He did, but Morbidelli will not give up.
No, it was side by side.
It looks like Morbidelli's got the inside.
Yeah.
So Marc Marcus leads again in this race.
Someone's down.
Oh, someone's down.
Is it Maverick?
It's one of them, isn't it?
Behind.
I think it is Maverick Vinales.
He's crashed out, and that will be a fast one there.
Going up the hill.
Yeah, took the front into turn four.
Got frustrated.
He'd been behind.
He's front tackled.
I think that's Morbidelli.
I think he's claiming Morbidelli.
We will see.
Well, he's got form.
I will say, Morbidelli, this year,
he's turned up, hasn't he, with the boxing gloves on.
I mean, this is a horrendous move.
That's ridiculous.
Come on.
Do you know what?
We've seen some beautiful racing,
and we've seen passers already in this race.
That's such a lunge.
It's not necessary.
For someone as experienced as Morbidelli,
you're that far back.
You've run into the side of your opponent,
knocked him off.
I mean, for me, a stronger penalty,
because we know it's not the first time
Frankie Morbidelli's getting.
There we are.
And he's missed it.
So he's going to have to do it again here.
There you go.
We saw someone do that.
Sorry, I know it sounds harsh, but there is justice.
I felt like he should have a bigger penalty
if he knocked someone off.
So he's now got to.
He'll have to do that again.
He will have to do it again.
I know it sounds harsh me saying that,
but that was a dirty move.
Did Gian Antonio on that last lap
was quicker than Bagnaia, again,
by another two tenths.
That's two in a row now.
And he's starting to enter the fray
in the battle for the podium.
At the front, Mark Marcus has the second lead.
Then Alex and Peko, six tenths between them.
Just keep an eye on Gian Antonio.
He's in fourth.
Mazzecchi in fifth.
And there that's Morbidelli
with Raul Fernandez behind him.
Excellent from Raul.
I'm so pleased.
Justin Martins is here this weekend.
And that's good news for Trackhaus.
This is getting close.
And this could be the worst thing imaginable here
for Peko Bagnaia as they come up and over
out of Arrabbiata.
If Fabio di Gian Antonio were to take
the Italian honour on the podium.
Thought they were coming back to Alex Marquez,
but that gap is back out to 0.8 of a second now.
And the gap here, 0.1.
There's the gap between Mark and Alex.
That's what two seconds look like.
That's what less than a tenth looks like
on the switch into Cervelli.
Here comes Fabio di Gian Antonio.
That was an aggressive move.
Picking Peko's pocket down into Arrabbiata.
Fabio di Gian Antonio has got into third.
That was so impressive.
You have to commit down there.
Down Casanova, the track drops away.
As you throw into Cervelli,
it's an off-camber corner.
Fast fourth gear.
There's no room.
He threw it up the inside.
Oh dear, now look at that.
There's a stroke of the beard from Gigi Dall'Igna.
I'm sure there'll be more than a few whistles
in a lap's time
if Mark Marquez completes this victory
here on Italian soil.
Not one since 2014.
Not the most popular of riders here.
And Bagnaia is done, isn't he?
He's toast.
Like I said, it's like he threw the towel in
unless he's got a problem,
like he's going to say there was a certain issue.
It's a 48.7 on that last lap from him.
Everyone else still in that 47 bracket.
Mark Marquez comes across.
The Sentry upholds.
Win number 93.
Mark Marquez conquers Mugello.
Silences the Tifosi in the process.
He's done it in style.
He is victorious in the Italian Grand Prix.
Number 93 celebrates victory again.
I think there might be more as well, Gav.
You reckon?
Of course, for this season,
that's win number five.
It extends the lead in the World Championship
to 40 points over his brother
who was second today.
He's done it again.
