DS18 Pro TW-220 Super Tweeters

what's good youtube and it's your boy young dove coming at y'all in another video here oh man your boys out in the lab uh with another update to go uh i might go through this one quickly uh because i'm shivering like a joker out here man it is freezing cold uh here in omaha man so um moving along uh i got the camera pointed down because i got this little package here uh like i said in the previous videos man y'all know i usually go on a little rant a little update uh maybe we'll do that at the end here uh because like i just said it's freezing cold out here man so um this would be another one of those deals where you see it in the title hey uh obviously i got some new crap and my razor right now is working like crap i'm hoping getting this on camera if i'm kind of looking at it kind of looking at the package trying to see uh what i'm catching here but um right there and i'll shut the camera up so y'all see it is one of those custom speaker pods um i took the other twitters out but if you've been on following the channel for a while uh you should know i got some prv tw uh 700 ti super tweeters uh they were supposed to go on a pods based on their measurements but they're way too big and i do mean way too big so in order to fix that um i believe i said in last night's videos like yo maybe give me a second this ain't coming off here even with the razor um i had said we ran into a snag uh so hopefully what i got here will fix that snag if i can ever get it out of this plastic all right boom so y'all can see that now so in a theme of me running big ass tweeter we got some more big ass tweeters uh so these are your ds18 pro tw220s uh supposedly these are 220 watts rms um we'll flip that up [Music] just trying to see okay so according to them across the top um it's 3.8 inches uh i don't know if that includes these here maybe this 3.46 includes uh from like edge to edge or whatever man but uh i guess i'll do this because i i tried to do a whole lot of research on these the other day and people kept flipping the box and i was like man if they would just hold the dog on box because of course ds18 is sold out of these at the moment all right so i just want to make sure y'all get that good focus uh because that is one of the main things about my channel i try to do a ton of research before i pull the trigger on something so there that is for you guys so and like i said i'll show this side of the box because it's the most important as far as uh somebody dealing with something like me uh trying to get in the game of hey i want to try these custom speaker pods i don't want to do too much work uh so let me see what's up now obviously right there i have to get in touch with my guy i'm about to go see him right after i get done with this video uh but i don't know if they're 220 watts across the pair or 220 watts of piece uh based on the way that they got the uh the sticker on the magnet i would assume that is purse uh tweeter but let's get her open take a look i might do a part two of this video uh because i they're they're big but they're smaller than the other ones so i guess that's a good thing and i'll open up the owner's manual like i said i'm sorry i'm just trying to open some of this stuff up so you guys can see it uh because like i said i know kind of what it's like to be doing your research and trying to look into something you can't ever find it so for those of you that can't see that recommended high pass crossover is 3000 hertz which is crazy because they recommended uh crossover on the other uh the super tweeters from prv uh recommended high pass crossover is five thousand so um pretty sure i'll run these on the same amp that i'm gonna run the uh ds18 uh dr2 horns on so hopefully we'll be good to go there as far as um the high pass crossover things like that so i know the main thing that people are having an issue with with these that's what i'm having an issue with right now trying to get them out of the freaking packaging with that crossover on there all right there we go so finally um yes i will say this these are big uh but compared to the prv um was i say uh a tw 700 ti super tweeters these are almost small in comparison to those uh so hold on just a second i'll do my own measurements uh to confirm for people out there so for me from edge to edge uh it's definitely more than three and a half you're looking at about three and three and three quarters hopefully y'all can see that like i said i'm sorry this is where i come in man i'm the unboxing guy because i know what it's like to be out there trying to do your research and find something and make sure like okay man i got this i'm trying to make this and i don't know for sure if that if the measurements are accurate or not so almost three inches on this here as far as the magnet but now moving all of this stuff out the way grab one of these little guys and grab these big guys bring them down here and let's see if we can throw that in there so boom we can all right so still the same deal so even um that's a try the thing that i was trying to do with the other tweeter um that i was kind of looking at was like man if i go that route uh i might have one screw missing and it's looking like we still gonna have a screw missing on this one here but i'm not tripping about that um it is sitting flush it is sitting down on there flush so uh i will figure that out as far as uh how that's gonna end up looking at the end of the day um if it has one screw that's sticking out i really don't care as long as everything is loud and screaming and good to go man so yes uh it does fit i guess i should try to lean that up but this where my thumb is at this one right here is kind of off kilter uh so i don't know if i lay it down like that everything's flush but uh we're just out you know what i'm not even tripping we're gonna go three screws in that and the other one can just hang out like it's hanging out right there man so it is what it is this is what happens when you don't make your own stuff um but like i said this hole uh is for a 3.5 inch super tweeter it's more for the ones that are flat uh they have like a circle surround like this here so let's say what is that okay no that is hoes all right so we might go that route then these are holes right here it's one two three four i think i might just do that man go ahead and put the screws four screws into that and just let the other ones hang out man so boom uh where you seek a solution you find one man so yeah uh like i said man i'll do update on it uh like i said i got about to head over to my guy's house hang out with him for a little bit figure some stuff out and go from there man so uh once again this has been an unboxing for your ds18 pro tw220 super everything will work out with these super tweeters uh as far as getting the card good and loud i did want something like this um i really thought about getting like some chrome super tweeters uh just to have that um contrast on the contrast as far as like hey man everything ain't got to be crazy black and like i said with this stupid shiny material hopefully y'all can see that around there uh
