I'm going to make it simple.
Stir-fry the rice first.
2 cups of rice
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of sesame oil
Rinse the rice in cold water.
Cut the rice into bite-sized pieces.
Put a little bit of cooking oil in a pan and put the rice in it.
Put the seasoned eggs in the pan, too.
Good morning friends!
Happy fall!
I hope you're all having a great start to the season so far.
I wonder if it's like this for you too, but I feel like this time of year gets so busy.
My work has been picking up a lot and I've just had a lot on my plate and I know many
of you have back to school or things going on at home and I feel like all this busyness
kind of coincides with my favorite time of year in nature when I want to be outside as
much as I can and just really enjoy the beautiful fall season.
So I'm always in a little bit of conflict during this time when I have to work but I
also want to be able to enjoy the moment a little bit more.
So what I've been trying to do lately is incorporate really quick, simple activities into my everyday
life just to make things feel more cozy and comforting so I can really be in the moment
and enjoy the season.
And I've been thinking of making more everyday magic videos like these between my bigger
projects like entertaining and decorating so let me know if you enjoy this and you'd
like to see more.
So I'm going to eat my breakfast really quick and then we'll start our day and head upstairs
to get some work done.
I'm just a stranger I'm only a walker I guess I'm human but sometimes I feel like I'm only
a ghost like I'm only a wall and if you come around honey I'll probably just follow you
home cause it's all that I know how to do I was born by a body I'll die by one tooth
places and nothing ain't got you
one day I won't be a steamboat baby one day I can be a freight train lady
I'll roll down the river and the miles won't faze me
oh I wish I was better at being alone still every night I call you on the phone
oh I wish I was more than my skin and my bones
but I've been arranging each of my movements and all of my gestures and trying to fool myself
into thinking that everything's small that nothing has reason I woke up and cried a
convulsion of honesty brought me to life when I thought I was gone
but I can't put a lie in the mouth of a song
one day I won't be a steamboat baby one day I can be a freight train lady
roll down the river and the miles won't faze me
oh I wish I was better at being alone still every night I call you on the phone
oh I wish I was more than my skin and my bones
so I just ate lunch and now I'm gonna take a little break before I start the second half of
my workday. Lately I've been trying to intentionally plan to have a screen-free break so I'm not
spending my time scrolling on my phone or being on my computer and for me this really helps me
feel like I actually took a break before I start my work again. If I don't have a lot of time
sometimes I'll just go and step outside for a couple of minutes and stand in the sunshine and
then come back in and work but today I want to make a really quick and simple DIY. So the golden
rod has been just exploding where I live it's growing everywhere it's on the side of the road
it's growing all over the place at the park and when you apply it topically golden rod is really
similar to calendula in that it helps soothe the skin it's great for things like eczema and rashes
any sort of skin irritation. So I foraged some a couple weeks ago and I've been drying it
and now I'm going to use it to make a really quick and simple golden rod salve before I head back to
it's what you do that makes me feel that I'm finally home that I am surrendered to
the silence and just know that it's what you do
watching the stars in the city lights
surrounded by colors it's such a sight watching all the lovers fall into the night
stars
this time of year is so beautiful and it's also very fleeting it feels like nature changes really
quickly and there's kind of a specific window of time where the weather is really beautiful and
all the leaves are changing and for that reason I sometimes will feel a bit of a scarcity around
being able to get outside during the fall and enjoy the weather especially on days like today
when I have a lot of work to do and I don't have much time to get outside but one thing that's
really been helping me is making sure I take a daily walk outside after work it's really nice
because since I work from home it helps break up the day between my work day and then the rest of
my evening and I try to get out for as long as I can today I was able to make it out to the park
to see more of the leaves change but sometimes I just take a little walk around the block by my
house and around this time of year I love looking for early signs of fall paying attention to the
leaves changing and the weather and all these really subtle changes in nature that make the
season so beautiful this is my favorite way to unwind after a busy day and I wish I could stay
out here for longer but the sun is just starting to set so I'm gonna head home and we'll make some
dinner
I can start this
garlic will burn you ask for it about 45 minutes
you were right okay I really yeah you were like you think tomato soup
is kind of just a giant thing with tomato sauce yeah perfect
you want to grab the immersion blender
it's always a little school that's good
okay
all right friends I am just about ready to wind down for bed I just did a little brain dump I
like to do this every night before I go to bed especially if I have a lot of things on my mind
work-wise it's good to just get everything out onto a paper so I don't have to think about it
for the rest of the night and then I will revisit everything in the morning I've always struggled a
bit with having an evening routine and this is something I've talked about before but I have
some nighttime anxiety and it's usually a little bit difficult for me to wind down for bed and just
get into a good positive frame of mind before I go to sleep and so having little habits like these
really helps me feel better before I go to bed it kind of puts my mind at ease and helps me be ready
for the next day Alex and I have also been trying to get into a routine of cleaning and resetting
the house before we go to bed each night we always clean the kitchen but we'll kind of tidy up around
the house and make sure everything is put away I feel like I sleep so much better when the house
is clean and it's also so nice waking up the next day and coming down to a clean house I used to have
kind of a negative view of habits and routines and view them as something that I had to do instead
of something that I wanted to do and little changes have really helped me start actually
looking forward to my routines like I always like to listen to an audiobook or play music when I'm
cleaning up or doing dishes so that I enjoy it a bit more I also think routines have helped me
simplify my life a lot more I tend to over complicate and overthink things a lot and it's
really nice having a set routine of little things that I want to do before I go to bed for example
and it doesn't have to be anything big or take lots of time it's just kind of a little ritual
that I do before I get ready for bed or before I get ready to start my work day and it just makes
life feel a lot easier and more simple and going back to this idea of everyday magic I think there
are really simple things we can do that make ordinary life feel more special or more beautiful
and for me I think so much of that is intention it's not that I'm doing something that is
different from what I would usually be doing it's just about putting really good energy and
intention into that thing like making breakfast and thinking about starting my day with really
good energy or working on something for Patreon and infusing it with lots of love and positive
energy that I want to give to other people or even cleaning the house and viewing it as a way of
taking care of my home and myself I think these are all just little mindset shifts that we can
make to make life feel more magical and I really do believe that if you put good energy into
something you get it right back to you so I try to do that and to me that's kind of what everyday
magic means to me so I really hope that you enjoyed this little day in my life I would love
to share more videos like this with you if you're interested in seeing more so let me know if you
enjoyed it and I hope you all have an amazing week I will see you next time friends!
