Ferrari 458 Speciale vs 488 Pista DRAG RACE

I'm Paul, this is going to be a very special drag race. This is a Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta and that is a Ferrari 488 Pista Spyder. This is a naturally aspirated V8. Alborz, that is when they switched to turbocharging. Yes, they did, mate. So this car has got well and truly north of 700 horsepower. I do believe it's going to be crooked in your car, but I have to say I'm sitting here and I'm looking at that thing with full envy. That is a beautiful, beautiful car. Let me give a big shout out to our mates at Keltex for helping us put this on. It is expensive to do all this sort of stuff. And also to our mate Lawrence for loaning us some of his incredible cars. Just a reminder as well, this is a regional airport runway. It's a bit wet out there, so the times that you see are not going to be reflective of what you've seen before on a prepped surface. So don't go getting too aggro on the comments section. It's still going to be fun nevertheless. So let's get right into it, Alborz, before it starts bucketing down even more. All right, here we go. Oh, there is no traction. This is like having a baby. This is so much faster. I'm getting slaughtered. Look at him. A humiliating defeat. Wow. Not really a fair race, is it? So I knew you would be quicker, but that is insanely fast. That hurt my soul a little bit. I don't want to win this, because that is the greatest Ferrari ever made as part of their normal car. So it hurts me to beat you. I don't know if it's because you're incompetent or because I'm actually that much quicker. No, this launch control is prehistoric. Let's go back and do one without launch control. This doesn't really feel all that slow. That car must just be like stupidly quick. Okay, Megan, count us in. No launch control this time. I'm going. Three, two, one, go. Awesome wheel slip off the line. It's so loud in here. Yeah, nothing I can do here. That is a great shame. There is, what, five, six, however many years between these in terms of development. You have like turbo charging. I don't have any of that, so that doesn't surprise me. Let's go back. Thank you for reassuring us of that fact. Yeah, so just in case people don't know, you do drive a 458 Speciale, don't you? I do own one, and I love it so much that I can't just watch it lose. It's very bad that you've not let me drive that car. But that is the epitome of V8 Ferraris. There is no better V8 Ferrari than a 458 Speciale, in my humble opinion. And as good as this pista is, I would pick that car every single day of the week. Because as you said before, we can have all the electric cars in the world, but at the end of the day, who cares how fast they are? That car sounds absolutely glorious. It's just a shame yours looks like a Melbourne taxi. But anyway, you can't win all of them.
