And no sunshine when she's gone, is not one way she's away.
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John.
Bartang last week released a new cover.
Okay, good.
Um, so.
So here we are.
Exactly.
John finds what he's going to read.
Yes.
So Bartang didn't realize half Russian, half Jordan.
And I was, yeah, I've been reading the beatbox wiki.
Despite not using lip rolls, Bartang has a tendency to break speakers.
Anyway, warning, if you have Bartang perform for you,
you might lose some speakers, apparently.
Anyway, he's done a cover.
It's an interpretation of Ain't No Sunshine.
Oh, that'll be interesting.
Song by American singer and songwriter Bill Withers from his 1971 debut album, Just As I Am.
I honestly, I thought the song was older.
Not gonna lie, I thought this was actually a song from early 60s, not early 70s.
But what do I know?
So it was released as a single in 1971.
Became a breakthrough hit for Bill Withers back then.
And is still one of his best known tracks, unsurprisingly.
Ended up reaching number six on the U.S. Rhythm & Blues chart.
And three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Oh, there you go.
The more you know.
All right, so are you ready?
Yes.
All right, let's check it out.
Before we do, make sure you hit that like, subscribe.
See what this is going to be like.
Check out the description down below.
You're going to find all our links, information and stuff that we have down there.
Okay.
Play.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.
He's not gone when she's away.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.
And she's always gone.
Anytime she goes away.
I know.
Oh, leave your thing alone.
Any size we go.
Don't lick the own king.
Look, any size I be gone.
And is that doing?
In no sunshine when she's gone.
I just don't understand how he comes up with the stuff.
Yeah.
But noises is going to make.
Well, not just that, but it.
It's I guess I shouldn't say noises, but you know what I mean?
Sounds now vocalizations.
Yeah, it's you can definitely see how it was inspired by the original.
But then, yeah, he's definitely taking it off and playing with it in ways you wouldn't
expect at all.
Definitely a much more modern.
Right.
Beatbox, rap, hip hop type interpretation of a very, very classic song.
It's like with acapella.
You're like you're making like the drums.
Yeah, whatever guitar sound.
But it's like this is just making.
Yeah, he's not following the sound of the stuff.
I mean, he is.
And you know what I mean?
It's just.
Yeah.
I know what I'm trying to say.
You know, sunshine when she's.
It's not one way.
She's.
You know, when she's gone.
And he died.
Oh, leave me on.
Think alone.
And no sunshine when she's.
That was short, short, but sweet.
Yeah.
He really needs to do a lot more of these, you know, old classic songs.
Yeah.
I mean, it's.
This one's definitely kind of right up there with his take on Black Betty.
Yeah.
It's just when that popped up on YouTube.
That's when I first.
Yeah.
That was my first introduction to Valtang.
And it's kind of like, wait, what?
And yeah, this is.
Well, just to make that sound so many different sounds
that literally sound like they're being made at all at the same time.
Yeah, it's like.
And yeah.
And there should be like five people behind them.
Yeah.
It's like, is it really possible that he's doing it though?
It's kind of like, yes.
And it's really, truly admitted because, you know, he does this stuff live.
There is a little bit of post-processing that goes on, you know, a little bit of,
you know, reverb here, a little bit of echo, stuff like that to, you know,
draw a couple of the sounds out, that kind of thing.
But for the most part, yeah, what you're hearing is.
Yeah.
If he was standing in front of you doing this live, that's, you know,
basically what you'd get does.
He has a really, really great throaty bass when he uses it.
Not just that, it doesn't just have a great, you know, bass.
It's also the fact that he can actually kind of like vibrate it as he does it.
Yeah, yeah, that's like so weird because it's like he's making so many different.
It's like he can hold a bass note and basically purr at the same time.
It's the only way that my brain can actually kind of think to describe it.
It's kind of like he's purring while singing.
Well, that's what I was saying at the beginning.
It's like just to take, you're taking a classic song from 30 years ago.
Yeah, plus 1970s.
You just ignore the plus 20.
No, that bit doesn't count.
Yeah, and just like I said, it's like, you know, when it's an acapella,
it's like they're purposely making the sounds to sound like a bass,
sound like a drum, whatever, you know, whatever that goes with the song.
And he's just taking it.
It's like, well, you're going to know this song, but I'm going to add all this.
Yeah.
Other sound in with it.
Yeah, and it's kind of like, oh, group.
Well, you've got to remember that the word group is in there.
It's like, yeah, but he's doing this stuff solo.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I'm always impressed by him, especially when he's doing it solo and stuff.
Yeah.
I mean, the group stuff, the group beatbox stuff is awesome.
Oh, yeah, that's good.
But it's like when it's himself like that, it's just, yeah.
Yeah, and I still say he has one of the best abilities to sing and beatbox at the same time.
Yeah.
It's like a lot of the great, you know, world champion beatboxers,
you know, sing and beatbox at the same time.
But it seems like, you know, Bartang seems to just be that a little bit clearer.
Yeah.
When he sings and beatboxes at the same time.
Well, obviously, we're going to continue checking them out.
So if you want to see any of those, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
