In today's video, we will learn how to create holes in a cylindrical surface.
Let's start creating a cylinder. Let's create the loops around where the circle will be created.
Let's insert the circle that will be the reference for our holes.
We adjust the size and decrease the interpolate value.
In this case, as we have the follows, we use the value of 1 steps.
I convert it into a table poly and add a shell according to the depth of the holes.
We duplicate on objects to use it as a reference for the position of the vertices.
Now, we select the cylinder. Go to compound objects,
probe volume. Here we go to advanced options and check the no edge removes option.
Then maintain the object's current edge. Select start picking and click on the circle
where the holes will be made. Convert to edit poly again.
Now, let's delete the vertices that will not be used and connect the correct lines to create
the loop around the holes. Activate the circle copy to make it easier to identify the correct
vertices. Use target width to link the vertices correctly and remove the remain vertex.
I will adjust those vertices that are near the circle. Using the edge constraint do not
diminish the mesh. Drag a little back and the roller will be done.
Add loops around according to your reference. Also, add inside the rollers.
Add a mesh smooth and your perfect rollers is done.
Here you will adjust use the circles as if it was a screw and it will fit perfect with your holes.
I hope you enjoy it. Until next time. Bye.
