I see that we're opening our gate down there.
They're going to call and tell us who our first rider is, I'm sure.
Can I ask our paddock steward who this horse is and who the rider is?
Okay, I'm informed that this is from the book family.
Annabelle is going to ride out here.
Now, Annabelle has done this a time or two before.
This horse says, wait a minute, I'm supposed to just trot,
and there's supposed to be other horses around me.
You're saying to yourself, this is a horse that's a different color.
Well, it's what we call a brave ant Belgian.
Take him home.
And this is Laurel Doss riding Buddy from Bigfoot Thunder.
And Buddy says, look, I'll do whatever you want, Mom,
but are you sure you want to do this?
Buddy is a Clydesdale.
He's cool enough to hang out with all the Shires of Bigfoot.
Nickname, he loves kids.
Laurel's in second year of college at Colorado Redwoods.
Time was 39.66.8.
Coming in our arena is Lisa Morris riding Lex,
also from the book family farm.
Time on our first rider was 35.208.
You don't understand.
I'm told I don't canter.
You don't understand.
This is a different event.
That book drawing says, oh, it's okay to canter?
Really?
Well, her time was 32.15.
Let in our next riders.
And we've got Amelia Jackson coming to us riding Archie.
They're from the Temecula Carriage Company.
That's an entry.
I see we've got one of our outriders leading this horse in.
Here we go.
Starting boldly up to the start line.
Amelia says, I know how to post.
I can get a further stride on that horse with it.
That's what she's doing when she goes up and down.
If you've ever ridden English, you rise and fall with your leg on the wall.
Listen to that horse calling.
I want my partner.
I'm out here alone.
No, I'll trot for you, but I don't know anything about this canter speed.
And her time was 40.58.
When they do barrel racing at the rodeos, you better be out of the way.
They're going to go right over the top of you.
They are hot licks.
But these are typical draft horses.
Okay.
You want me to do this?
I can do this.
This is number 105.
Looks like Macy Floyd.
From Bigfoot Thunder.
You're just watching a flash fund.
Louie.
Louie says, nobody beats me.
She's now safely out of the arena.
Oh, that's Jerusha.
Okay, we were all sitting there thinking, I think that's Jerusha,
but I don't want to say anything until I make certain.
Jerusha Roberts is riding Johnny.
Well, we do things like in a mule, you know, we do it our way.
Time was 36.67.
We've got Robin King riding Ella.
This is an Islander entry from Big Horse Works.
She's moving right along.
I've known Robin since she was a little kid.
So seeing her as an adult is an interesting thing.
And she says, hey, I can canter too.
Her time was 36.13.
Now we're going to see Meadow Denton riding Chip.
And she says, I've come to play at this game.
From Wild Island Ranch.
Peterson entry.
Where do you want me to go, over here?
Oh, okay.
I can canter.
I don't have a long stride.
I'm not a racehorse, but I can go that direction.
Okay, I can canter again.
Over all, he's come to play.
In a time of 32.06.
That is our new leader.
We're going to see a horse that is very familiar to those of you who have been with us in the past.
I'd like you to see Rosebud.
Who is one of our poster horses.
Cheryl and Bill.
Coming in as a banana.
Because she says, I won't be seen doing this.
And Rosebud says, come on, we've been entered.
Let's go for it.
Yes, I know you usually drive me.
And I know you know how to post, mom.
Rosebud says, I will do it my own way in my own time.
What is that thing I'm supposed to go around?
Okay.
Mom, we're cantering.
Are you sure you want that?
Yay, Rosebud.
In a time of 40.25.
Okay, Go Go Bananas has gone out of the arena.
And we're going to have our next horse in the ring.
This is also an entry from the pictures.
Bill and Cheryl on the lovely horse Angel.
Sienna Ignatius is our rider.
And she says, yeah, I just watched Rosebud do this, but you should do it at a camel.
It goes faster.
Riding the horse on an open road.
You go girl.
Angel says, I'm needed back at the barn.
In a time of 27.25.
Michelle Russell says, I could have done this in the past on diamonds.
From the Iron Horse Ranch.
Michelle Russell and Diana are going to show us how this is done.
In slow motion.
Cheryl says, wait a minute.
That's no cone, Mom.
I don't know if I go around it what I'm supposed to do with it.
What is that monster in the ring?
Michelle is taking it all in stride.
Okay.
Oh, God, I'm crowding now.
I'm in a canner.
Oh, my Lord.
In a time of 33.02.
And Allie Sutton.
Allie is at least a third generation exhibitor here.
And team riding Prince.
From Red Hill Belleton.
Sutton entries.
Allie is going to show us how this is done.
We think.
Mom, that's a monster under there.
I can't possibly get near it.
It's the Boogeyman.
Another one.
I'm not going down there.
No way.
Allie is going to sneak up on it.
Okay.
We're taking maybe a longer route home.
But we got there.
Prince says, get me home.
Get me out of here.
I'll canter.
I'll do anything.
If you'll start a lineup for us, Allie, that would be lovely.
We'll get our gate open.
We'll get our other exhibitors back in for awards.
And we'll remind our exhibitors, you know, these horses are not custom being ridden.
So watch your lineup.
It's a whole different world for them.
And the brave individuals.
Word of advice, ladies, your hips are going to hurt.
Come on, Rosebud.
Go, banana, go.
Cheryl is down there urging Rosebud along.
Rosebud says, look, I'm too old for this stuff.
Let the children go out and play.
I think it's ridiculous.
Cheryl says, I want to take my time, find the right lineup spot.
Well, how did you like the feral racers?
I think we've got a great group of individuals who came out and did this.
Sixth, I think we have.
So the winner of the class, by a pretty wide margin, I might add, entry number 129, Sienna Bergenow.
Bergenow.
And she was riding Angel.
Take that, Rosebud.
Do you know if she's related to Rosebud?
She is. They are partners.
Meadow Dentry.
Riding Chip.
In third place, entry number 102, Book Family Farm, Lisa Morris.
In fourth place, entry number 132, Iron Horse Ranch, Michelle Russell.
And Diamond just pointed out to me that our first and second place winners are riders, or juniors.
They're not even in the adult classes.
So it looks like we've got this hanging around for a while now.
In fifth place, Book Family Farm, Annabelle and Keoni.
She's riding Bear.
And in sixth place, Big Horse Works.
That's a Nylander entry.
Robin King is in the saddle, riding Bella.
Way to go, Rob.
All other riders not named, as soon as she picks up her ribbon, can excuse themselves.
We thank you, ladies.
You gave us quite a giggle.
And some thrilling moments.
When these ladies have safely left the arena, I'm going to introduce you to a fellow who you won't believe has been all over the world.
