Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal. He was in a mine,
because he was way behind and he was willing to make a deal.
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. Well, it's Halloween. I know, it's that time of year. It really,
it really isn't yet. But, well, it's, unfortunately, it's, it's creeping closer. Yeah,
getting closer now, which means I'm getting closer to, to another age.
Having a candy coma, anyway. Yeah.
No. Voice play have, of course, done their, you know, traditional yearly, we're going to do a,
I was going to say Halloween song. It really isn't a Halloween song this year. They just
made it a Halloween song this year. So, they're, they're yearly Halloween, because voice play,
of course, is Halloween. And this time around, they decided to do a cover of Charlie Band,
Daniel's band song, The Devil Went Down to Georgia. That's a great song. So, I mean,
you can, you can kind of like immediately kind of go, yeah, you can kind of like see that in
a Halloween kind of setting. I'm going to come to town and, you know. So, massively fast backstory.
Devil Went Down to Georgia is a song written and recorded by the American music group,
Charlie Daniels Band. Mostly written by one Charlie Daniels, I believe. It was released
as a single May 21st, 1979. So, it's slightly older than me. Literally, it's a month older
than me, basically. And was released on their 1970s. I'm actually surprised it's 1979. I thought it was
older than me. Yeah, no. That was released on the 79 album, Million Mile Reflections.
It was their biggest hit. It hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
That's as high as it actually managed to get. It was basically stuck behind After the Love,
After the Love Has Gone by Earth, Wind, and Fire. And My Sharona. No. Oh, come on. By The Knack.
That went down Georgia. I mean, I know My Sharona is a good song, but come on.
I'd have to listen to it to know. I don't know by the title. I know Earth, Wind, and Fire, but.
You know the. I know I know the song. Yeah, you know the song, but you just don't know by the title.
I don't know. My Sharona is kind of like. I mean, that's.
Oh, I know. It's, I mean, yeah, but still, I don't know.
You know, it went down to Georgia, you know. I'm sure at the time people probably thought it was
kind of like. Oh, it's a little bit too country. Spoiler alert. The hillbilly. Jordan Hillbilly
beat it up, so. Oh, yeah. Now there's no point in watching the video.
Yeah, no, I'm curious to know because I know they're not doing this completely acapella
because you can't have. I don't think they're going to be able to make that.
No, no fiddle. No, but they should. Yeah, what they should have done is they should have gotten
a, you know, they should have found the right, you know, beatbox star and then they could have
done it completely acapella. But yeah, this this one, it's just it's voice play and Jay none.
So, yeah. All right. Well, let's check it out for you. Make sure you hit the like and subscribe.
Check out description down below. You're going to find all our links, information and stuff
that we have down there. I'm trying to think of a name of a beatboxer that we've done that
could actually pull off the violin. There probably is one. Anyway. Probably, yeah.
The one guy because he does like some really high.
Now, I'll try to come up with this name.
Anyway. Anyway.
Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal. He was in a bind because he was way behind it. He
was willing to make a deal when he came across this young man's on on the fiddle and playing it
until you would. I guess you didn't know it, but I'm afraid to. And if you'd care to take a dare,
I'll make a bet with you that you're playing pretty good for the boy. But give the devil his
due. I'm going to feel like I'm going to get stressful because I think I'm better than you.
Well, my name's Johnny and it might be a sin, but I'll take your bet and you're going to regret
it because I'm the best it's ever been. Johnny, you're rousing up your bow and play your fiddle
hard because hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals the cards. And if you win,
you get the shiny fiddle made of gold. But if you lose, the devil gets your soul.
The devil opened up his case and he said, I'll start this show.
It's weird when you think about it as a song because it's one of the least sung songs that
you can actually get, in a way. Because even the original version, it's not really sung. It's more
the story to music. Even the way Charlie Daniels does it, he's practically telling a story rather
than singing a story. He's practically telling you a story with a musical accompaniment. And
they're really playing into that with this version. Yeah, they do really good videos.
They really do, yeah. They're so creative when they come to that.
Especially around this time of year. It's weird. I mean, Christmas stuff is good too, but you know.
Sorry, you're not the right acapella to run the Christmas. Everybody knows this.
Yeah, all right.
The devil opened up his case and he said, I'll start this show.
The fire flew from his fingertips as he risen up his bow.
Then he pulled his bow across his strings and it made an evil hiss.
And then a band of demons joined in and it sounded something like this.
It will finish, Johnny said. Well, you're pretty good, old son,
but just sit down in that chair right there. Let me show you how it's done.
This is for YouTube. This has to be one of their best ones.
Fun wise, definitely. Yeah.
I still like, you know, the last one we did. Which one?
The last one we did. Oh.
Which yet again, I've got the title of. Right.
Seven Nation Army. Thank you. Yes. I've forgotten that again already.
What was I going to say? Neither do I.
Oh, Lane, when he talks, sounds an awful lot like Jeff. Have you noticed?
Well, the devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat
and he laid that golden fiddle on the ground that Johnny's food.
Johnny said, well, devil, just come on back if you ever want to try again.
I done told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best it's ever been.
The devil's in the house with a rising sun.
Chicken in the bread pan, pick it out.
No child, no.
Oh, I like that one. That was good. I don't know. It was fun. It was good.
I remember the other thing I was actually going to mention,
which is kind of like ties into the one that we did yesterday.
Devil being in the house of the rising sun.
Yeah, literally, you know, throwback line from Charlie Daniels band to,
you know, the house in New Orleans.
Yeah. Yeah. No, no, I don't know. I like that one. No, it was fun. It was good. It was,
you know, good video.
Yeah, it is like their Halloween stuff is always just that little bit extra because it is,
you know, it's like, like we said, Pentatonix, they do Christmas, you know, voice play.
Yeah. Halloween is really their playhouse.
They have so many great Halloween songs.
Just find a watch.
Yeah.
And they do a good job at it.
Obviously, we're going to continue hitting them up. So if you want to see those,
make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
