We've been working on this one for a while. One of the biggest challenges in bumpside builds is dealing with missing or trashed steering column trim parts. The top piece that covers where your column goes through the dash? Usually gone or full of random screw holes. And Ford never even made a bottom cover to clean up the exposed column and mounting hardware underneath.
We got tired of hunting eBay every time we needed these parts, so we made our own. The top piece comes ready to bolt in—no blasting or painting old junk. The bottom cover was designed specifically to clean up that exposed area without looking like an afterthought.
Both pieces come in raw resin so you can paint them body color, leather wrap them, vinyl wrap them—whatever matches your build. They also work seamlessly with our AC valance if you're running that setup.
Some other versions on the market use 3D printed pieces that screw into your tilt mechanism, which can compromise safety if you crank it down too tight. We designed ours to avoid messing with any of that.
This isn't the cheapest option out there, but it's designed to look right and feel correct. When you want parts that actually exist when you need them and complement your truck's interior instead of fighting it, this is it.
What's Included: Top steering column mount cover (raw resin) Bottom steering column undercover (raw resin) Installation hardware Available as individual pieces or as a set

Hey, everybody, Jason with Fafnir Garage and welcome back.
This is a product that we slowly have developed over time
that became more of a need for aesthetics, but also another need
because they don't actually make them.
And I got tired of shopping eBay, looking to see where I could find it.
So first and foremost, I want to talk about this part right here.
If you've got a steering column and you got that top piece that goes
in your steering column, goes through there.
Oftentimes I have had a hard time buying these.
They'll also have a couple of screw holes in it already.
And so we just kind of came up with this so that we didn't have to
hunt and look and
find them on eBay and get them in here and blast them and paint them.
It's ready to go for us.
So we carry this part. It's on our website.
You can go purchase it if you're missing something.
It's an easy way just to go get it.
And it's going to come ready to go bolts right in.
So very easy, real simple product.
The next thing that we came up with was something that allowed us
to cover the bottom of it, because normally you'd see this
and then it would look kind of ugly.
And we wanted to cover the bottom of our steering column and the mounts.
And so we designed this piece that ties into this piece
so that we can have a little bit more of a cleaner look
with the different column diameter shafts that go through here.
We made a little bit bigger, but we wanted to clean up the bottom.
Now, we've got a couple of screws that go into the bottom
that will bolt in here to kind of hold it on.
But also the other thing is I've seen another variation
out on the market with something like this,
and they actually have a 3D printed little piece that you screw into,
but it screws into the part that you actually crank on your steering column down.
And so if you crank that down too tight, that's going to break.
Your bolts are going to loosen up.
You're going to have a steering column sitting in your lap.
So we try to make sure that we're not sacrificing your safety when we make them.
So we got one in this truck and you can kind of see
we have this kit set up in here
and you got a top and bottom.
And then again, we just went for a color matched look.
We're looking for something just to kind of clean it up.
It also fits our AC valance so it can kind of slide right in there.
The valance just kind of goes around it and offers a little bit cleaner
look for your steering column.
And it doesn't look like you lost a part.
And it has just a little bit nicer overall look in general.
So you can buy both these pieces on the website.
They're both available for your restoration.
And, you know, there might be a little bit of sanding, fitting, finish,
you know, whatever you have to do to kind of clean it up
to make it look as good as you want it to look.
This is a driver for us.
So for us, we're trying to keep it real simple.
We're just driving it when I have a good time, clean it up a little bit,
make it look better.
So both of them are available on the website.
Again, you got the top piece that's usually missing, at least for us.
Or a lot of times we start a restoration.
We had it when we started.
Now we've lost it.
And this really is helpful.
And of course, the piece to cover up the bottom of your steering column.
So go check them out.
Again, things that we're trying to come up with to make your job
a little bit easier and make it cleaner as good as we can possibly make it for us.
We want to share that information with you
so you guys can kind of build your own truck in the way you like it
and have the parts readily available for you.
