As a slight change from our Riding East series, we wanted to share a glimpse into an average day on the bikes.
During these 24 hours, we left the mountains in Northern Montenegro and made our way towards the coastline. Packing up camp, finding food, exploring bear territory and navigating Montenegro's tunnels...
We hope you enjoy the film. It's the first of its kind that we've shared, and we really enjoyed putting it together. If you'd like to see more films like this, just let us know :)

Morning. Morning. It was a bank holiday yesterday so all we found, and today, all we've been eating
is borek. Yeah. So our mission today is to try and find something a little bit fresher. Yeah,
we're craving, because it's really warm as well, we're sort of craving something fresh and juicy.
And we're gonna take you along for the day and show you exactly what we see
as we cross from the mountains down towards the coastline in Montenegro.
We haven't been in Montenegro for very long, but the landscapes are just absolutely breathtaking.
Stunning, and it changes as well really quickly, like you'll be in sort of one rugged snowy
landscape and you turn a corner and there's a coven of green trees. It does mean it's like
incredibly hilly, we had no idea how mountainous it was. No. It's just around every corner,
it's just these kind of incredible landscapes which just stop you,
stop you in your tracks. Yeah, it does mean that we go very slow.
We found a shop.
We found the last place that had opened in the area. It doesn't even come off your map,
and then turn this little tea little sort of shop from place. And it closes in 15 years.
Oh wow, excellent. So we have some fruit and vegetables, we have some eggs, and we have...
There's quite a lot of snakes. There are. And they keep stepping off into the sides
and then kind of seeing a snake. I think we should watch this. Yeah, it's quite worrying.
We have been on this off-road section for what seems like forever.
It's really beautiful, kind of feels like bear country. Yeah it does, it's worrying me a little
bit. We haven't seen any bears. Can you hear it? Can you hear it? I can hear it. It's a car.
Back on tarmac. I'm really not too keen on going through long tunnels.
We'll see how long it is because there's no pavement or anything.
So on this trip, and particularly since we've entered the Balkans,
we've been asking lots of people for places to camp, or if they know anywhere, just because
local knowledge is always going to be better than our knowledge as we pass through.
And so many people just offer us places to camp in their gardens, we've been asked to like
welcome to some people's sheds. And it's really, really touching. This whole trip has given us
such a different perspective on people and we just encounter so much kindness, it's amazing.
So we asked for some water in this little bar in this really remote area, there's nothing really
around. Another first food place we come to for quite a long time. And yeah, she gave us some
water and she said about camping around the back, which is really, really nice. Managed to find some
food too in a shop. So we've got some eggs to replenish our protein because we have just been
eating borek. That's like two and a half days since the public holiday. So we've got some eggs
for some protein, some vegetables and a little soup mix to make a little sauce. Yeah, watch the sun go
down. You know, I think we do actually need to be a little cautious with snakes. Yeah.
How many did you run over today? One, and you run over one as well. Two. I ran over two.
Last one. So how did you find our day cycling? Yeah, I found it quite tough.
It's a lot of, I felt like just a day uphill,
and then another off-road bit was really slow going. And I was scared that there were bears there.
And a lot of snakes. There were loads of snakes. But I'm continually blown away by these landscapes.
It's incredible, like it's so beautiful. I feel like today was like not as dramatic as some other
days, but it's still just... It's really beautiful though, like around every corner. It's so hilly,
it's so mountainous. And it's also, um, this is good to eat. How many days old is that? I've
just been in there overnight. You've not been over there overnight? Yeah, two days. Two days?
Yeah, so one night. I mean, it tastes horrible here. I don't think it's like there's no
dried potato. Yeah. Shall I try it? I've not even tried it. I'm gonna be honest,
it doesn't look the most appetizing thing, but I'm so excited to eat it. Yeah. I'm ready for
some protein. I'm gonna put a little bit of stock in it, and that will elevate it.
Yeah, very tasty. Um, it's like super, super pimped up, like really seasoned scrambled eggs.
It's good. It doesn't sound like too bad. No, it's cooked good. I can feel the protein
We thought, like, a week ago it was gonna die. Yeah. Still yet to battle
the petrol stove. Remember when we were, like, scrambling eggs on it?
Yeah. Like, a week ago, we were like, nope, this is it, it's gonna die.
