The holy land of Hariharapura, situated at the banks of River Thunga, is a Kshetra highly extolled by Vedic literature. It is located at a distance of about 10 Kms from Koppa Taluk and 20 Kms from the famous pilgrim center of Sringeri, in the Western Ghats. It is a place replete with rich natural splendor, enveloped in deep serenity and divine presence.
The reverberating Vedic chants amidst lush greenery and the gentle flow of River Tunga creates an exquisite ambience of divine fervor and becomes an ideal retreat for the human mind constantly stressed under stormy thoughts and emotions. A few moments at the Sharada Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on the banks of the holy Tunga soothes the turbulent mind and instills immense peace and calmness.

Jai Shri Krishna, Jai Shri Lakshmi Narasimha, Jai Shri Ramachandra.
So, here we are at the Hariharapura Divya Kshetra,
a very powerful and a very spiritual place that was first utilized as a Yajna Shala by Daksha Prajapati,
the progenitor of mankind and he did the first major Yajna in this divine place
at the banks of the holy Dunga river and here is where the great pastime of Lord Shiva
coming and destroying the arrogance of Daksha is also known to have happened
and this is the same place where Adi Shankaracharya also established the first very powerful idol of Lord Narasimha
with two Garbha Grihas and following which Adi Shankaracharya re-established the same deity,
and this is one of the most unique temples that I have ever seen so far
and it's a place that has captivated me for a very long time
and the serenity of the place, the way you can just sit there for hours and meditate near the banks of the river,
I would definitely recommend every single person who is interested in spirituality and meditation
to come over here and just meditate at the banks of the Dunga river
and witness the beautiful Lord Narasimha.
This is also a place where Agastya Muni has meditated for several, several years.
It has the spiritual potency of all the three major sages combined, Agastya Maharshi, Adi Shankaracharya
as well as the current Guru Parampara that is running from Adi Shankaracharya.
So this is one of the places where I would like to keep on coming and meditating
and request you all to experience this. Jai Shri Krishna!
Jai Shri Krishna! Jai Shri Lakshmi Narasimha! Jai Shri Ramachandra!
I am currently in the coastal side of Karnataka and it has extremely beautiful temples
and one of them is the very holy Shakatapura temple right behind me here
and it is located on the banks of the holy Dunga river.
The temple has been established by Adi Shankaracharya
and this place has one very important Mahatva or spiritual significance
and that is that a very great Maharshi, Shakata Maharshi attained Moksha
by constantly meditating right here.
So this is an extremely pious and extremely spiritual place.
It goes by the name Shakatapura Matha and there is a beautiful shrine of Lord Shri Krishna
as well as Narasimha inside the temple
and it has just been blissful to go around this place. Jai Shri Krishna!
