Sofia Kenin vs. McCartney Kessler ｜ 2025 Ningbo Round 1 ｜ WTA Match Highlights).

Nicely played from Kessler. It was last year where she had a break last season. That's confident play. She can certainly pack a punch, Kessler. Found some rhythm there. Kennin. Nicely finished off. Top four seeds got byes. That's terrific tennis. She loves the drop shot. What fine play there with the volley. Brilliant return. Was in the slot, though, the serve. But very impressive opening set. Just the way she was able to manage her tennis. McCartney-Kessler. Started strongly. That might not have been the cleanest strike that's dropped in a few weeks ago. The longest points we've seen and one of the best points we've seen from Kennin. Difficult to watch for Kennin. The longer you're out here, the more chance you can of finding the level that she would want. Just feels like she's half a step slow to everything. As she felt there, she tried to take a little bit of pace off it. First visit here to the Ningbo. Two points away from the win. It's her quickest match of the year. As good as it was for Kessler, that was a tough watch for Kennin. Just not at the races. First meeting. Only Americans in the draw. It's the lower-ranked American, Kessler.
