We have added a thick base that makes the carpet much softer. The base and the carpet itself are also very pleasant, because they dampen the sound, so that our neighbors on the ground floor cannot hear our steps. The base also holds the carpet perfectly in place, so that it does not slip. If you have a flatter or lighter carpet, you should definitely get a base. It improves the quality of life enormously. Because a thin carpet feels shaky when entering and is simply not a pleasant feeling. A soft base, on the other hand, keeps the carpet on the floor and is pleasantly soft for your feet. Ok, now to the desk area in the office. Some of you suggested that we should try different configurations for the desk. This one is best suited for us, because we want to divide the living area, the office area and the dining area. Chris and I are now also dealing with the somewhat confined atmosphere. Of course, because we have found out a few tricks on how to sit more comfortably. It's not really a problem if we both want to sit at the same time. But as soon as we sit so close together, it's no longer a problem. I am so glad that we found this desk, because it fits perfectly with us and also with the space. And I'm really using my desk for the first time now. Because I used to have desks, but I never used them. I always sit on my laptop, either on the couch, in bed or at the dining table. But now that I have a nice chair and a nice desk, I can actually sit and work. It has helped me to be more productive. And here we have this red architect's lamp. We used to have this big table lamp here. But I knew I wanted this architect's lamp. I put it on this side first. But since they have similar sizes, it looked a bit strange to have two equally large lamps on both sides. It didn't fit the proportions. So we put the other table lamp on the black console. And now it's here. And I really like how much she has changed this desk area. She just made it a little more playful and modern. And the red just fits the rest of the set. I love to put red accents. I think it just fits my color palette and my style. And I've always wanted an architect's lamp. I think they look great on a desk. And it's also extremely functional. Because you can move it up and down like this. It's nice to have the sofa here. When I, for example, read on it, I can just put the lamp like this. And it's already my reading lamp for the sofa. It's really nice to be functional. But optically, it values ​​the room enormously. I think it makes the room look more like an office area. And then I also wanted to show the pillows on the chairs. These are pillows from Page. And we need them because the chair can't be put higher. But we need it a little higher to use the desk. We use the pillows as seat elevations, so to speak. But I think it's also nice to have this dark green. In order to have a better contrast to the gray and the black. By the way, I forgot to mention it. But I thought about it. I think the black console has contributed to the fact that the TV is not the first thing that catches the eye. I don't know if that's the case for everyone or just for me. But when I enter a room, my gaze usually falls on the darkest first. So the black console prevents my gaze from falling directly on the TV. So black also helps to have a TV in the room. I definitely recommend taking a look at this. Some people have asked me how long we want to stay in this apartment. Or what we plan to do. Honestly, I don't know at the moment. I really miss an outdoor area and garden work. But the idea of moving to another house and starting all over again doesn't interest me at all. Besides, it's really nice to live in such a small room at the moment. Especially because we don't really have anything. And I don't want to set up a larger room in a hurry. So Chris and I don't really know each other at the moment. That's what's good and what works for us. But at the moment we feel pretty comfortable here and don't plan to leave right away.
