Hi, we're Maja and Felix and we're driving through Morocco in our van.
We're leaving the coast now, driving into the mountains and beautiful river races,
discovering wildlife, funny rocks and much more.
So after our sighting at Ouzavé-en-Crique,
car jack, so we arrived at our campsite for the night.
We woke up to a clear morning sky. It's a great place to have breakfast.
Okay, it's a new day for new adventures.
We are heading off to discover more of the coast today, so let's go south.
So it's a surfer's paradise here, real holiday vibes and of course we already heard in German
on the street the sand is super soft.
So we're having a Moroccan omelette which also comes in the tagine plate.
Amazing for 40 dirham, that's like four euros.
Yeah, bon appétit.
So excited about this trip.
First time in really three minutes from the beach.
So we parked here next to some really cool jeeps which we see a lot here in Morocco
because of all the off-road tracks that you can do.
We're having the worst fly breakfast, they're everywhere.
You have to watch out that you don't eat them.
Tomorrow we will eat inside for sure.
We're making some Asian noodles with coconut curry.
I love grass noodles.
So the curry is ready.
This is a quick deluxe lunch that we took from home.
Felix got sick yesterday, he's recovering now and feeling much better already which is really good.
We have to take care that everything is hygienic and safe here to eat and drink.
Only eat cooked or peeled food.
Let's start the day.
Magical here, everything is red.
So we got our water bottles in this heat.
We need two five liter bottles a day basically.
The van starts to look like an adventure car, yay.
Good morning, that was quite a short night because the birds were singing.
There was prayer singing and the rooster and some dogs.
He's really high up there.
There are three brothers here, hopefully he will still be able to come down.
Now both of them are up there.
So refreshing.
What are we doing?
We are gonna walk to the fort on the mountain of your left and the landscape is stunning.
In the rainy times there must be a big river down here.
Those were tiny prison cells, terrible.
It's a bit a creepy atmosphere knowing that these were prison cells.
This looks like an older part here.
There's no tarmac road to Legzira.
So this is Legzira, beautiful red rocks we're gonna explore.
But first we'll have a little coffee.
Omelette time.
Camping with a horse.
You're just chilling at the beach, huh?
So we arrived in Sidi Ifni on a camping right on the beach and there's a horse on the campsite.
Good morning.
So we are off, bye bye Sidi Ifni.
We are going to the first river oasis in the direction of the desert now.
Water.
That's why it's so green here, it's a dry.
This is truly stunning.
The whole landscape here is terraced.
So we are in Tafraout.
So we found a cute little hotel campsite oasis.
So it's really refreshing because now we are at a thousand meters height here.
The sun is going down and I'm just out of words of this beauty here.
Good morning, we are going to explore the area today.
It's amazing.
This rock is called Head of Napoleon.
Hello little kids.
There's actually water here.
The whole way here there was no water in the riverbed but it's so peaceful, so quiet here.
So many palm trees.
Looks so tropical, like there could be alligators in here too.
This is their water canal.
Precious lifeline of this oasis.
A pool.
I think we found the biggest pools in this majestic scenery.
This is wild oleander I think.
It's just growing here.
He just found a fruit.
The second one.
I think it's a tiny watermelon.
Would have been a watermelon.
Okay that wasn't ripe.
Let's see if the pomegranate is ripe.
Oh no it's not ripe yet.
But it will be nice.
A new room?
A paddle?
Just dates hanging on this tree.
So many dates.
That's a burning hot omelette in this scenery here.
An old garden gate.
We are walking on the old road now because there used to be a village up here.
And the scenery is just amazing.
But it's crazy that this was a road.
Look where we just came from.
It's going down quite a bit.
Some shade finally.
Incredible this village here.
So many rocks.
We could easily build a house here again.
Maybe we'll find an old spoon or a cup here.
So we are archaeologists now.
I found the top of a tagine maybe.
And also this clay part here really looks like the edge of a tagine.
And maybe this was from a grinding stone maybe.
I found one more stone here.
For grinding grains or something.
Really flat skin.
The man who made us this amazing omelette, he told us that in February this whole valley is flooded.
And it really reminded me of my river back home.
Which can transform so much over the seasons.
So many little fishies.
There's the old road up there.
And it even still exists on the map here.
Donkey road.
So after this impressive oasis we're going back to our little oasis.
Way down we go.
Now we're at the top.
Today we're doing a hike around these amazing rocks of Tafraut.
We're going to see some painted rocks.
I have my mineral sunscreen on.
So I'm extra white today.
And here's the cowboy.
There's the old village in the rocks.
That's a crazy garage build.
Feels a bit like an abandoned village here.
And then there are these villas.
Unfortunately you cannot see the beautiful gardens behind the walls.
Who is living there?
Tiny tiny rock in the garden.
Into the wild let's go.
There are little stone walls everywhere.
Which we really don't know what they were made for.
We reached the top of the plain now.
And there are car tracks here.
You can actually drive up here.
Wait are these gazelles in the back there?
We saw gazelles.
They made fires here.
Maybe for a ritual.
Big fire.
We can see our destination in the back there already.
Here we are.
They are really colorful.
Not only blue.
A Belgian artist painted these rocks blue in the 80s.
In this little dream world.
This was really really cool.
Now we're gonna hike down again.
Thank you so much for watching.
And next we're going into the Sahara Desert.
