Tiny Cabin Life —— 木屋生活 寒秋驟雨襲北境荒野小屋

為什麼我們被吸引到孤獨的地方? 當然,這裡有著令人難以置信的美麗 但我覺得對我來說,它是更多的一種美麗 我認為它是我的靈魂寶貴的寶貴 一份能夠超越理解的寶貴和和平 是我要送給你最深刻的一段人生 加入我們在紐西蘭南部的酒吧 讓我們減少時間,並暫時不做這些瘋狂的事情 這就是小酒吧的生活 我們在北部的西部南部奇普洲森林酒吧 而冬季肯定會在這 葉子的顏色真的開始出現了 溫度也在下降 琵琶灣是一個巨大的湖泊森林 有名的環境 歷史 當然也有野餐 它覆蓋了超過660萬平方公里 讓它成爲中西部最大的國家森林之一 但我認爲更加有趣的是 大約50%的森林是水 有超過1300個湖泊 我們的船員坐在這裏的一個小湖泊 是個美麗的地方 今天早上感覺特別好 可以稍微慢一點 一週一週我們就在這裏 追尋冒險 有時候我忘記了 這就是船員生活的一部分 就是放鬆 享受自然 我今天也有蠻有趣的計劃 更多的時間 去出去 去分開 真正看到 這片土地上 美麗的美景 因爲這片土地上 有很多 我們要去哪裏 跟着這個旅行的路 我們下車 前往這座 遺失的火箱 這座火箱 在這裏 有些小的森林道 遠遠的 看看 Prius 會有多長時間 才能到達 我的天 對 這個最後一部分 是絕對 不可能的 我們得回到 And find a place to park This right here is why I like having a truck Yeah, this is definitely not Prius material Wow Here she is Wow Looks like it would be a beautiful view up there Unfortunately, the ladder has been cut off This means they really don't want you going up Fire lookouts like this have a rich history here in Minnesota Many of them were built on high vantage points to be able to spot smoke or wildfires early especially in remote areas At one point in time there were nearly 150 fire towers active in Minnesota But by the 1950s many were replaced by aircraft patrols or other technologies for fire detection And while most are either unused or abandoned like this one there are a couple still in use today I've always found these fire lookouts to be extremely fascinating mainly because most of the ones we come to like this one are abandoned or not in use And I love to imagine the people who worked here you know, had to drive or hike up this road every single day and then climb up that huge ladder and sit up there looking for fires I just think it's such a cool part of our history And I love that we get to discover these places not just here in Minnesota but all over the country as well We made our way back to the cabin to just take a little bit of time to relax And I gotta say it felt really good to doze off for a few moments After a quick nap I loaded up in the car to head out for the last adventure of the day I'm headed to this small chain of lakes where I'm hoping we can do some exploring and some fishing as well I'm excited to get out on the water and explore this chain of lakes A lot of times these are the places where you find some pretty big fish hiding out And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing if we can catch something I've pulled up to this small boat landing on the largest of this chain of lakes here It's gonna be our jumping off point for hopefully exploring one of the smaller bodies of water in the chain The plan is to enter into this small channel here which then makes its way through a beautiful corridor of fall colors The channel eventually dumps out into this smaller lake which I have a feeling has some pretty big fish in it This raft has proven to be an awesome way to get out on the water It inflates incredibly quickly And with the trolling motor I'm able to zip around these lakes pretty well So the channel that we're gonna take is straight ahead I don't see any reason why we wouldn't be able to make it This boat it just floats on the top of the water And we've got this trolling motor that we can bring up and down So if it's weedy or shallow we should still be fine I do not know what this stuff is right here But it smells terrible And as you can see There's like some bacteria Growing on the top of it It's also blocking us From getting in the channel I'm gonna see if there's any way We can skirt around it over here So thankfully we got around That first little barrier But now we are just caught up In a bunch of lily pads The motor is powering through So that's good But I don't know We'll see if it gets worse up ahead Man So unfortunately It's too shallow for this motor And there's just so many lily pads That is just getting hung up Left and right There's a bunch of flies And mosquitoes back here I think because we're surrounded By all this vegetation Basically standing water I think we're gonna bail And try to just fish The larger section of the lake All right, we made it out Let's go do some fishing Got one on already Oh, he got off Dang it I think I had the drag too tight Oh man Well, at least we know they're out there Geez Man It's like impossible To avoid these weeds here Well, the sun is officially down And I have caught nothing Which you know happens But Man That like first cast I had one on And so I definitely got my hopes up But hey I caught a huge fish last week And gotta be humbled sometimes Feels really good Just being out on the water though I'll tell you Not gonna have too much of this left Winter is gonna be here before we know it Back at the cabin It was finally time for a very late dinner I'm making a couple of brats here And my original plan was to make them over the fire But since it's well after dark now I'm having to do it over the stove instead Well, I have a nice simple dinner here It's kind of a farewell to summer A couple brats and a pickle It looks really really good Oh my gosh That is so good And so filling Love a good brat All right guys It's about time to hit the hay It's been an awesome day But I'm very ready for sleep So we'll see first thing in the morning So this is pretty funny We found this old school paper of my dad's And it's just so funny to me That he got a C plus on this Mind you he was 10 years old This is from September 5th 1963 The paper is called My Summer Vacation And it's a little summary of what he did that summer And I love that it says On July 4th we left for our cabin And we got there that night at 6 o'clock I took a three mile walk through the woods I hiked, swam twice each day Read and did a lot of fishing It's just so cool He loved this place up here And I'm just so grateful That he instilled that same love in me And really set this place aside for us It's truly a gift And gosh So grateful for that And I miss him so much too I don't know if there's anything quite as peaceful As taking in a rainstorm here at this cabin Just being able to watch it come down outside And hearing the pitter patter of the raindrops Hitting the metal roof I just love it We've got a little window here Where the rain has died down a bit So I figured we should probably go down And check out the lake before we leave You know I've been blessed to be able to travel Really all over the world But definitely around the United States And there's so many places that I love But there's just something uniquely special About the North Woods I think maybe it's the fact that we don't have Just those massive mountains Or just like the obvious things That are jaw-droppingly beautiful But what you actually have here Is just an intricately woven mosaic of beauty From the lakes to the trees And then just the simplicity of the life That you get here I think all of that comes together To just form an experience That's truly remarkable And something that is very near and dear to my heart And so it was this place right here That really shaped my love of cabin life And all that it stands for To me at least Holding close to faith, family And of course the beauty of this world that we live in I want to give a special shout out to our patrons Who up On a couple of things That are coming up in the future Number one, I am so happy to say That my mom's place down in Florida Is finally rebuilt and ready to go It was completely destroyed in a hurricane A few years back now And it's taken a long time But it is finally all fixed up And we're going to go down there As a family on a vacation And I am so excited What that means is that I'll have one video coming up In the next couple of weeks That's going to be kind of a recut Of a previous adventure I'm going to add a bunch of footage That's not in the original cut And spice it up a bit with some narration And some other things So it's definitely going to be worth the watch But I want to give you guys a heads up on that Because that's going to allow me to Take a week off And go have a nice vacation with my family And I'm really looking forward to that But with that It's time for me to close down the cabin So I can get home and see the girls We'll see you next week God bless
