I'm Harada. I'm doing pottery in Aichi prefecture.
I've been doing pottery for 15 years.
When I graduated from university and worked at a school for 3 years,
I studied to be a carpenter and worked as a craftsman.
I became independent 3 years ago and now I'm doing pottery in Aichi prefecture.
I'm using the soil from Tochigi prefecture called Mashiko,
so it's called Mashiko-yaki.
I've been using the soil that I blended recently.
In the beginning, there was a simple one.
There are a lot of works that take a lot of time, such as carving on a carving board.
This is the soil from Tochigi prefecture that I blended.
I blended red soil and white soil and added a little black soil.
This is the concept of a robot's furnace.
I'm going to put it in here and make it look like a broken robot with smoke coming out.
It's called a robot because it's written as a person walking on a furnace.
This is the robot series.
This is the core series, which is an image of the heart of a machine.
This is the heart of a machine.
This is my favorite field right now.
I make one by one by hand.
I make patterns with toothpicks and cutter blades.
This is a black clay called Koku-de.
It's a very fine black clay, so it's good for fine work like this.
If it's a big one, it takes about three days to make one.
The more time it takes, the more affection it gets.
I'm often told that I'm making this with a mold.
I couldn't believe it even if I said it wasn't a mold.
I'm more attracted to the fact that the next work I make will definitely evolve than the first work I make.
You can dig or stick it together.
The soil is raw, so if it's soft soil, you can dig too much and bury it.
I think it's a good way to express yourself.
Even if you come to the workshop, we have an exhibition like this.
I'd be happy if you could feel free to come.
