Comments are disabled for this video.
Viewer discretion advised. Do not do this at home. We are going to recreate and redo video I did
four or five years ago now where we absolutely
Frankenstein this bow over here
this was
Matthews VXR
We put a bajillion
twists into this string to make it to a hundred pounds to try to make it as fast as this bow can possibly go
But that was quite some time ago
Matthews has gone forward and
technology and everything
So we have this lift RS, which was my turkey bow and we are going to see
How fast we can?
Get it
without breaking it
Hopefully get it around 100 pounds. I don't know if I can pull back 100 pounds anymore, but we'll see of what we can do
But before we dive in and do that big announcement in the month of July we once again have a be real custom giveaway going on
One order one entry. We have a couple bonus
product entries
Vinyl harnesses are now live. Where are they?
We partnered with marsupial to come out with a be real vinyl harness. That is five extra entries

Moultrie's 10 Moultrie cameras and what else I feel like Oh sick of gear
We're giving away a bunch of sick of gear stuff a full strata system
And a new pair of boots so a big giveaway over
5,000 and prizes terms and conditions apply make sure to check that out on b-roll custom the entire month of July
But now what we're going to do is we are going to Frankenstein this bow and
Hopefully nothing dangerous happens, but no promises
What we're gonna have to do first. I'm gonna have to put 80 pound mods on it
Well, actually what we'll do first is let's see what these bows
Are shooting stock just like you know with poundage is and everything like that what these bows are shooting
So this was my hunting bow all last year
Let's see
What the stock feet per second and that's a goal see how fast we can get this bow. So we're gonna try different arrows a
Couple different techniques stuff like that
Okay
this bow
77.2 let off is 54 pounds really
29%
That seems back
70 77
We got three different arrows, so we have a rip
XV which is 400 grains. We have a UV 1k, which is 460 grains, and then we have a
Victory rip stainless steel, which is 600 grains, so kind of all over the board
Let's see what we got. We'll go to
heaviest to lightest here stock yardages
or stop feet per seconds
So low with that heavier, so we got a UV 1k 460 greens
Tell it's way faster. Yeah 298. That's good. That's right where we want to be
for normal bow setup
Not where we'll end up
Okay, now we got a 400 grain with XV
316
screaming
Screaming out of this bow 77 pounds. Okay. I do not have 80 pound mods for the RS
So we're gonna alter
to the 29 and a half my baby
We're gonna destroy it. No. I'm just kidding
We might I don't know who knows might bend the camera something doing what we're gonna do so we're at
What was it 317 feet per second 19 something like that with the 400 grains?
so what we're going to do to start is
Put some twists into the string
so
Disclaimer you can do a few twists in the in the strings and the cables to increase your poundage
But not as many as we're gonna do but we're gonna go in small increments just to kind of show the reaction to it
So we're gonna do three
I'm to mess with the rest cord and stuff a little bit of a process
You got to match it
Also, if you ever mess with the cables, you got to match what are we doing the top you got to do on the bottom?
In your rest cord will then twist around this if you ever do mess with your cables, it'll start
Twisting so you got to reset that but we'll see if we can get by
Let's see what the poundage change to it. Was that was it 76? Oh
Yeah, 82 pounds now
So we'll just we're gonna do this in slow increments. So let's see what we got now
Rip XV. We got the 400 grainer
Jumping about four pound one. Let's see five pounds six pounds
Just with three twists
321 okay, so I bumped up. I think it was 317 bumped up a few
What we can do now is put some more twists in let's see what we got
I'd like to see it out like 90 pounds 90 pounds isn't too bad
And I know
Everyone's going to say
Everyone's gonna say my grain per inch is
Below the recommended safety hazard that is true, but they dumb that down
to a
Buffer a safety buffer you can you can stretch it a little bit more
At least two for the people that I've talked to that are much smarter than me
Let's put three more twists in let's see what we get
You can see you look at this cable right here it just gets so silly when you start doing stuff like this I
Will have to fix the rest quarter
Okay, somehow the timing is still good I have no idea everything still looks okay
It's probably gonna feel like dog water though as soon as you start putting this amount of twist in it starts feeling bad
Poundage poundage
We're at 82 last time
85
So bumped it up a little bit
322 321 point seven was last time so bumping it up a couple pounds. Let's see what it does
326 point seven
So I've bumped it up quite a bit. We're getting faster
What I want to do
Now I want to take off these monkey tails just to see
326 point seven
Wow
Taking off the monkey tails made it jump that much
What was the four three twenty six point seven to three thirty four without the monkey tails?
That's actually crazy. I mean it makes sense
All the guys like that I've talked to they take those monkey tails right off if they don't care about their bow being a little
bit buzzier
Okay
Let's see what else we can do. All right, let's do three more twists
You start to see like even at rest the cables are starting to get pretty naughty
Let's put it in the draw board again
Still in time, that's good. Everything looks fine
85 last time. Oh
That's a pretty stop now
89.4
We're getting there
That we are getting there. Okay, our last one was 334 feet per second
No way is it the same it's possible I guess
the thing is also
that we found on a previous video where I was trying to shoot 350s and
300 side-by-side and 350s were lighter
But they were shooting about the same feet per second, which didn't make any sense to me until after the video
It's because the weaker spine was absorbing
energy
And it wasn't being transferred into speed because it was weaker as bending more
Maybe a little bit of that's going on. These are 300 spine though
So they're a little weak
335
Let's shoot the other ones and just see where we're at
316 with a 1k
316 no way
the 600 grain arrow
That deserves a reshoot if that's the case that is crazy
Yeah, 274. That's right. I didn't read that first one
374 though with the 600 grain arrow, I'd have to be shooting 90 pounds to shoot a 600 grain arrow
All right, let's see what else we can do first thing when I do
We did this in the last challenge
but if you actually
Get rid of the veins
On your arrow makes a little bit lighter
And all we're trying to do is get speed out of this bad boy
So we're gonna do that see how it reacts
along with the wrap
Okay
No veins, no wrap took off a few ounces few
grains not ounces
We'll see what we got now. I think last time we were only able to get into the 340s. I think
That was fast 352 let's go that's screaming
Warning low battery. Oh gosh. I thought it said a warning too fast
Bow's not supposed to be shooting up fast
That'd be so funny. Okay, let's put some more twist in let's get up to like 95 if we can one two
three
Two three
You can see how would this be
Under-rotated. Yeah how under-rotated the cams are
so really I
Need to put a couple twists into the string
to help our case out a little bit
Even the press is struggling
Okay, we're looking back through the cam holes
We can see the string. So our cams are better
Rotated now, I think that would probably make the bow even faster what we just did
Cambling really is not that bad. That was a problem. We were experiencing in our other time. We did it
These cams are these limbs are so
Do that looks so scary. Oh
My goodness. I mean these limbs are way more rotated than they were. I don't know
It looks so scary
And they test the heck out of these limbs
And they say they can take way more than what they spit them out the door with
That was like aggressive. I could tell because my sidebar typically when I get to full draw it just barely is
Like above that and it is like all the way up past. Oh
Gosh
Scary time scary things. Well, that's what we said. We're gonna do
And we're gonna do it we're at ninety eighty nine point four last time
only 92
The thing is
It's when I put a bunch of twists in the strings that might have done something
To the poundage that we didn't get. I mean we still got two pounds to three twists in the cables
Let's see what we got out of this arrow
352
We bumped it up two pounds. We're now at 92 and change
Hopefully this thing doesn't blow up
Mm-hmm three fifty eight point eight
She
That's a fast little bugger
All right. All right. What could we do? What could we do? Take the peep sight?
Let's take the peep sight out
Three-fifty eight point eight is what we had with the peep sight in now. We have the peep sight out completely out
The string is gonna be faster and lighter
See what we did. I bet it's at least five feet per second faster. Oh
Wow pretty much the same unless like maybe the strings are settling and it's getting
Slower or less poundage, which is if it could be a thing
354 it's probably just got so much going on with the bow right now. It's twisting the cables. It's just kind of settling. I
See, let's put a couple more twists on it
So I bet it dropped a half a pound or a pound just by shooting it
Let's do four
Okay, so the cams are under rotated
Yeah, our claws are still slightly under rotated. I'm just nervous about doing
I mean, it's
crazy
How bent those limbs are right now? Doesn't it look like it appears that way to you like
She fits she ships. I
Bet it's I bet she's close to a hundo now pounds
92 was last time
That was 99 what I just did
I
Wish we had a pull-down thing now for it. Oh
Ninety eight point six, but the first time I got it was 99. I bet it's just settling a little bit
I'm impressed. I got that back
99 pounds
Called a hundred round up
Where's our arrow in the target gosh?
This is gonna be it folks. We ain't doing any more than this
Highest feet per second. We've got was 358 shot a couple more times
We've done a book down with 354, but we got it up to 358. I think that's more than we did last time
It was either 340 or 360 last time
358 number to me number to be I might have to pull back with the
Different release if I can't get this up my strap. Oh
My goodness
363
That's it. We're not doing any more. That was scary. I punched the crap out of it. Thanks. I was so nervous
We did it though and
Really looks fine. I mean you don't want to be shooting a bow like that at all 99 pounds
But we did get this boat in 99 pounds
and
Cam rotation actually is not bad. It's slightly off
Timing was still good. I bet you could get this thing to tune. We're shooting it under spined arrow
Which I know that's dangerous to do do not do that
And what we just did was extremely dangerous because you never know do not do that, but the Matthews held up to a hundred pounds
fun little challenge
363 point eight number to beat with a stock 20 these might even be 28 inch mods
these mod number e or letter e that might be 28, so
If you got a 30 inch drawling can did the same thing. We'd be talking some serious different numbers
You could probably get into 370s
But fun little challenge. Hope you guys enjoyed it. I had some fun in the bow shop this morning, so
100 pound bow lift X we did it
Safely that was the number one thing. Thank you all for watching. We'll catch you guys in the next one
