Well, Levi, I don't know if you remember, but a few weeks ago in Singapore, you spoke to Crofty in the paddock,
and you said if you weren't a Formula One driver, you'd be a cowboy.
Being a cowboy, I think that'd be pretty cool.
I'd love to, like, learn to be a legit cowboy.
Okay, that would suit you. That's the ground.
Yeah, 100%. Play guitar, ride horses.
We have brought you to the Lone Star Ranch.
Please welcome Levi, who is a genuine real-life cowboy.
Nice to meet you, Levi.
Welcome out, partner.
Thank you very much for having us.
Yeah, sounds like you want to learn some stuff today.
I would like to, yeah. I'm suddenly a lot more nervous than I was, but...
Well, after this, you can teach me how to drive an F1 car.
That would be cool, actually. We should do a reverse.
All right, that sounds good.
100%. What do you make of the mustache? You've been gragging that for two months.
I've been trying. This is all I've got.
I mean, everybody's got to try a hobby, you know? It looks great. It looks great.
I felt good about it until I met you.
We've got to get you squared up on how to use a rope first,
so we're going to do some kind of the fundamental stuff and basics of that.
Amazing. Let's do it.
Right, Levi, we need to learn how to rope.
This is your tool for work, essentially.
A cowboy's main job is tending cattle.
We have to be able to control them.
We have to be able to catch them, move them, separate them, all those different things.
It's essentially the number one skill that a real cowboy needs to know how to do.
You are right-handed, correct?
I'm right-handed, yeah.
Okay, perfect.
What we've got to do is flick it over, just like that.
Now rotate your hand around over the top again.
There you go. Right there.
I can't even, how do you see it?
Now point that finger, and just like you'd throw a rock, post.
Oh, nearly. So close.
Now do that about a thousand more times, and you'll have it down.
Okay, unbelievable. You can have a go.
Fling it down in front of you.
Like that?
There you go. Pretty close.
I'm getting my hat.
Yeah, the hat's the hard bit.
Almost. Almost. Almost.
Oh my God, no.
There you go.
There it is.
Okay.
There it is. Feel better now. There you go. Good job.
I don't know any of the second stage, I don't know.
Good job.
You got it.
That's it right there. Yeah, absolutely.
Good job. Right.
Thank you.
Now we're going to go and make your cattle drive.
I need to enlist Levi here, but also Tina, who runs the ranch,
because they're going to take you out and show you what to do.
Yes.
Tina, take it away.
Alright, so we have amazing horses here at Lone Star Ranch.
Have you ridden before?
When I was very young. It's been a long time.
Hey, all the experience counts.
So we're going to take some of our beautiful big longhorns,
and we even have a little baby out there.
We're going to push him off into the next pasture for dinner time.
So I picked a special horse for you today.
His name is Topper.
So we're going to get you up on over here.
Where do I put my other hand when I grab?
So you're going to grab the horn right here.
Okay.
And up and over.
Easy.
Awesome. Good job.
How do I start?
Yep, so you're going to take your reins,
and when you want to stop, you're going to pull back and say, whoa.
Whoa.
Yep, and you can do it with one hand or two.
And when you want to go to the right, you're going to take that right rein,
and you're going to turn his head all the way to the right and turn around.
And then when you want to go left, you're going to turn him left, too.
So we're going to push our longhorns all up into the next pasture.
So, you ready to speak cow?
Move on.
Hup, hup, hup.
Heck yeah.
So you're going to say, come on, cows.
Heck yeah.
Come on, cows.
Heck yeah.
There you go. Aren't they beautiful?
They are absolutely beautiful.
So we're going to go up.
We're going to push them out of the cedar brush.
We're going to push them back up to their pens
so they can get some dinner for the evening.
Move cow.
Hup, hup, hup, hup, hup.
There you go.
Hup, hup.
There we go.
We're going to push them down the line.
There we go.
We'll keep it slow and steady.
Well, nice job today.
Thank you so much.
You're really great at riding.
So much fun.
You're really great at driving.
So we'll take them in to go get dinner.
What do you think about that and get you some time by the campfire?
Sounds like a plan.
So, Levi, how did he do?
We've come to the end of his day as a cowboy.
Well, this is a sport and you're already an athlete,
so you could see that that really paid off for you,
especially when it comes to cattle drive
and maintaining your balance on a horse.
How did you like it today with everything that we did,
learning how to rope?
Looking at you guys, it's just super, super cool.
So, yeah, it's something I've genuinely wanted to do,
so it's been a very cool experience.
But, hey, we got some s'mores for you.
While he's making it, what about this weekend?
It's incredibly close,
probably the closest season ever,
and puts massive pressure on us as drivers, on the teams,
to extract everything every weekend.
And so coming into this weekend, it's a track that we all,
I mean, I think everybody's always excited for this one.
It's my favorite race, so, yeah.
Why don't you try that?
There's your ticket.
S'more right there.
Watch what you make it, bro.
Absolutely.
Take a big old bite out of that.
Would you like one now?
Yeah.
OK, let me make you one.
Don't leave me out.
All right.
Sounds good.
It's biscuit and then a layer of chocolate
and then a marshmallow.
We put some graham crackers on them, is what we call them,
put some Hershey's chocolate on there,
and we toast the marshmallow just enough to get it mushy.
This is something we all grew up doing as little kids.
So good.
Is your trainer going to tell you off?
Yeah.
OK.
I had a burger today as well, so it's been a bad day.
Somebody told me you like to play guitar.
Thank you.
I like to, yeah, I do like to play guitar.
Well, funny enough, I have one for you right here.
