Nature House

A home hidden on a mountain slope, standing quietly among rocks and trees.
From the outside it appears closed, yet inside it opens wide — filled with light, air, and tranquility.
This is Casa LL, a space that lives in harmony with nature — simple, yet full of beauty.

Nestled on the rocky slopes of Tepoztlan, Mexico, Caset LL stands amidst a dramatic landscape.
From a distance, the building appears to be part of the mountain itself,
solid, serene, and blending in with the surrounding earth tones.
Its angular shape creates a strong silhouette among the trees,
as if a massive piece of rock carved into a dwelling.
From the street, the house appears closed and mysterious.
Earth-colored concrete walls stand firmly, protecting the occupants' privacy from the outside world.
However, once through the entrance, the atmosphere changes completely.
The open space expands, revealing a verdant inner garden and views of the distant mountains.
This transition from narrow to spacious creates an intense sensation,
as if stepping out of a cave into the open air.
The house consists of several volumes arranged in a sliding pattern,
creating a play of light and shadow throughout the day.
During the day, sunlight penetrates the gaps between the walls,
drawing patterns on the floor and concrete surfaces.
As evening falls, warm light gently reflects off the earth-colored walls,
creating a more intimate and calming atmosphere.
The interior of the house is dominated by natural colors and rough yet warm textures.
The floors and walls are left in their raw state,
revealing the character of their original materials.
There's little decoration, as the primary beauty comes from the contrast between the concrete,
wood, and natural light that changes throughout the day.
The social spaces open onto the garden,
with large sliding doors that allow air and light to flow freely.
From these spaces, views lead directly to the mountains,
creating a strong visual connection between the interior and the landscape.
Private areas, such as the bedrooms, on the other hand, are more secluded,
providing a sense of tranquility and security without losing the connection to nature.
Casa LL strikes a balance between strength and serenity.
It demonstrates how simple forms, honest materials, and an open layout can create such a rich experience.
It's a house that doesn't try to stand out,
but rather slowly reveals its beauty through time, light, and silence.
